Tips for getting unstuck from clouds on PC ?

Is there any proper way to get unstuck, beside restarting the game ?

Sometimes waiting it out works, but I found the most effective way to sort it is to restart, unfortunately.

 

I was stuck in the clouds for about 15 minutes last night before I gave up. Doesn't happen as much these days but it's still annoying.

Try joining one of your friends to another server via Steam overlay.

Yeah it doesnt, but its sucks restarting xD

There is sometimes situations where nobody is online

Lagging yourself out works most of the time. You can use this method while in the cloud. You'll end up in a solo public session though.

 

If that doesn't work, you can cut your internet connection until you get disconnected from social club and kicked into story mode. Reconnect with the internet and social club and try loading into online again. No need to restart the game completely.

On console I use the guide to time it  out (90s), can you alt+tab away for 90s?

i play on flippy ps4, but when i get stuck i mostly go and eat a crunchy apple. if i'm still stuck maybe i go and eat an shabby apricot hihihi and if im still stuck i slap a stinky fish on my console and restart it hihihi

Ctrl + Alt + Del, disconnect your internet and wait till it kicks you to storymode. Works 100%.

All the answers are already here - suspending the GTA5.exe process for between 5 and 10 seconds is usually an option that works well (although I've had some people say doing it too long can kick them back to single player). Combining that with pulling out the ethernet cable or disabling internet entirely for a few seconds will almost guarantee a fix as @Black-Dragon96 pointed out. 

 

EDIT - if a PC player ever finds themselves restarting the game often, consider bypassing the legal screens by editing the GTA5.exe and removing (or editing) the Rockstar logos video line (platform:/movies/rockstar_logos.bik). There's enough guides elsewhere on how to do that. 

It only saves about 10 to 15 seconds or so, but it's handy if you're testing stuff etc.
