More Japanese manufacturers pulling their cars out of a western game and making them exclusive to a Sony platform. Can't say I like that at all. What's next my Samsung TV won't work because it didn't come from Japan and I need to get a Sony TV.

Yeah, but you can't forget that there were no Volkswagen vehicles in FH3 for some baffling reason.

The lack of Mitsubishi is pretty bad, however the lack of Rolls-Royce is even worse IMO. Why the f*ck would they not include Rolls-Royce in a game set in England? It baffles me how stupid the Forza devs seem sometimes. 

 

Regarding Mitsubishi though, here's a quote they put up on their website:

One absence from the above list is Mitsubishi. While our teams work hard to license hundreds of brands for Forza games, we can’t always align our fans’ desires with the interests of every licensor, as is the case here with Mitsubishi. As a result, we’re unable to include Mitsubishi cars in Forza Horizon 4 at this time.

 

In addition to RR and Mitsubishi, here are some other cars they skipped for no apparent reason:

- Every Alfa from the 70's - 90's

- Aston DBS, 1970 Vantage (Both of which were Bond cars IIRC), and Vantage V600

- BMW 850CSi, '09 M6, and 507

- Ferrari 812SF, 612, and California 

- 2018 Civic Type R

- Just about every Hyundai

- Lamborghini Jalpa

I doubt there's any simple answer to that question. It must be an absolute nightmare to negotiate licensing deals with vehicle manufacturers - for them it's a platform where they can display their products, but they want them displayed in a way that both entices potential customers, and at the same time doesn't give a false sense of the capabilities or shortcomings of their products. Here's a few quotes from a Ford representative, that outlines some of the "issues":

The current car roster seems kinda dissapointing though. From what little I've seen we will have no mitsubishi, only 1 plymouth (the slowest one) and a bunch of lorries that'll be good for nothing. Motorcycles would spice up the roster and make it more worthwile to pick up.

I don't mind the lack of Mitsubishi cars, to be honest, I can live with that. Hopefully, more cars will be added in as DLC, like some Rolls-Royce cars. We all remember when Forza Motorsport 4 didn't feature Porsche cars at launch, and instead had the RUF cars as substitutes, but Porsche cars eventually showed up as DLC. Hopefully, the same can apply to the cars and manufacturers that won't show up in FH4 at launch.

@Ivan1997GTA : Same here dude. I mean I like Mitsubishi but come to think of it I'm rarely driving them. I normally go for Nissan when I'm choosing Japanese cars. It's a pity they're not there to have the option but I guess I won't miss them. About Porsche, I was really happy to see lots of their cars make it here. Are all cars on these lists vanilla at launch or will it be, as you said, cars that don't make it, hopefully, end up as DLC? Would love to be driving one of those porches out of the box/on launch.

I'm still pretty bummed about no Mitsubishi to be honest. EVO's are kind of my go to car in past Horizons and so not to have them is a pretty big let down for me. Playing the Demo and I've been enjoying the '92 Escort they let you pick. Seems like it might be my replacement rally car if I end up getting the game.

This demo is amazing. It's not too short, so it gives you a nice taste of everything. If you complete all of the races, you get to drive the Senna around on your own as well. I'm incredibly excited to play the full game.

Demo doesn't save your progress when you exit the game. Got up to the first dirt race, then the game crashed right after. Restarted the game and found out I had to start from the stupid autumn quest again. Immediately closed the game because I'm having none of that horsesh*t. The HUD display buttons also don't change to your keybinds. It kept telling me to use Back Button to start a race, despite it being remapped to another key. I preordered FH4 Ultimate, but this demo hasn't hyped me up at all.

I'm on the original Xbox One and it worked fine for me. Not sure what might be wrong with yours.

I think if bikes ever get put into a Horizon game they'll be in at launch and they'll make it one of their big selling points. I wonder how it would work though if they did. Would they introduce body physics and let you get thrown from the bikes or just reset you as soon as you fall off?

When TDU2 did it, you could get thrown off bikes. Then your bike would just reset back on the road afterwards.

I preordered the Ultimate Edition for PC, im okay with it that there are no Mitsubishis, i rather use Imprezas instead of Evo's anyway. My absolute favorite rally car still is the 1998 Subaru Impreza 22b STi i guess it will never change, i hope there is a Horizon Edition of it.

 

Apparently there are finally some Porsche Horizon Editions and some others i also didn't expect like the 2003 Nissan Fairlady Z (Forza Edition Available) or the 1995 Nissan GT-R LM (Forza Edition Available) and the 1998 Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR (Forza Edition Available). The most important cars are in the game, im okay with it. Not gonna gonna download the demo not worth it, im just gonna wait for the early release on the 28th Sep.

 

 

I really hope for some more Horizon Editions, wondering why they call them Forza Editions hmm, they are only called like that in the Motorsport series.

So I began selling most of my cars on FH3 and gonna give away my credits to people who'll stick to FH3. Been doing this for most Forzas (anyone else does this "cleanup"?). I haven't even TOUCHED the demo (#nodemoforme) and I know I'll spend 97% of my gaming time on FH4.

My goal in every Forza is to own all FE or HE cars, not gonna sell them just because i don't play the game anymore.

 

Im only missing these cars in general in FM7 i got every other car.

The 550 cars in FH4 are nothing compared to the number of cars in FM7 there it's like 850+, it should be much easier to get them all.

Do you realize the amount of content you receive in the Ultimate Edition? There's so much value packed into the price. If you purchased everything separately, it'd most likely cost way more.
