The Cyberpunk 2077 car is in a race in Central Edinburgh called Nightcity.exe but be prepared! You are gonna need a fast or 'Wide' car to keep up/block him from winning as the AI is really

quick/few mistakes!

'Dusted' off the Xbox One to replay Forza because the addition of the Triumph TR7 and Fiat X/19 as part of Season 30 got my interest as two of my favourite classic cars!

The new Super7 seems to have created some very normal to the 'weird and wonderful' as had one event where I was corkscrew jumping in an old Audi Quattro Rally Car, good fun!

Gonna continue with it over the coming weeks as really enjoying the difference in pace from my PlayStation games and I also found out Phantasy Star Online 2 is available on Xbox and currently has a 'TAILS Edition' so that's me

sorted in terms of having my profile complete on Xbox!

Like with weekly Trial races, or ranked adventure, you can't go wrong with a light, grippy AWD thing with good brakes - if you can stop on a dime, and then shoot straight off in another direction, you're golden.

I found a really nice S1 900 build for the 33 Stradale ages ago, and it's still my go-to for S1 races - being so small, it's great for weaving through those start-of-race pile-ups (ah, racing with randoms... :sigh:), and on top of that, any excuse to drive such a classically stylish motor, really...

iQBGLxb.png

I'm rather enjoying the Super7 stuff - it's like I thought it would be: a cross between player-created stunt tracks in something like GTAO, and player-created bucket lists in FH3. I've got a couple of ideas for daft things, but I need to find the time to test them out - still, I've done enough challenge cards to get The Best Car In Any Car Game, Ever:

hNaqdsk.png

Look at it - LOOK AT IT! :panic:  10 horses, has an attack of the vapours if you try and go up a slight incline (although you can almost hit 50 mph if you roll downhill, at least!), and it's just adorable:inlove: And even more mind-blowing: it's just a smidge closer to the Apollo 11 moon landing (45 years instead of 51) than Apollo 11 is to FH4's newest, most cutting-edge car, the Jesko.

Speaking of Koenigsegg and cutting-edge hypercars (and attention @Geisterfaust, @Coleco, and anyone else interested in rare/gift cars): check your messages for a Regera with a unique Christmas jumper paint job (there was also a stock CCX a few weeks ago, though with no unique paint), and the pre-order McLaren 720S is finally available in the Forzathon shop this week! 🥳

Yeah, it seemed kinda tricky at first. I didn't know that event unlocked the car and I just assumed I had to do something else to get it and use it in that race lol. I think I beat the AI on Expert with the Bugatti Chiron. First time in a long time for me to drive a Bugatti (wasn't a huge fan of the Veyron in the older Forza titles) and it handles like a hypercar should. Probably my second favorite car after the Senna.

Are you using custom tunes for races? I find a max tune for pretty much every race I do, so I p much just picked w/e for the Quadro race and it was pretty straight forward race for me.

Really interested to see how the Jesko performs top speed wise once it's in peoples hands proper... it should decrown the glitchy mess that is the 599x Evolution, hopefully anyway.

Video games don't normally impress me (I don't care, I'm jaded) but this... this FORZA HORIZON 4 actually blew me away.

First time in a long time that I've been stunned by a video game.

The setting, the detail. I was going around the towns slowly peering in windows and exploring the countryside in awe of the beauty and detail.

A frickin' masterpeece.

If you have the opportunity, try playing Horizon 2. European setting (pun intended) is quite interesting and I felt like you when the thing was out in 2014, absolutely breathtaking. Anyway, it's still okay game now if you can play it.

Scratch that, try playing Horizon 1. Still an absolute marvel in open world racing and the magnum opus of the Forza Horizon franchise. Amazing roads coupled with an almost ethereal atmosphere makes playing this game like a perfect dream sequence - you honestly don't want it to end. Forza Horizon (2012) would be the best open world racer of all time if it weren't for TDU 1.

In other news, freaking Forza is coming to Steam starting with Horizon 4 next month! Hooray!

You have pretty much nailed it, that's a dream sequence. I was long in search of words to describe my original feelings while playing the first part. TDU is a masterpiece from my youth, but Horizon on 360 was amazing. I was playing FM4 extensively at that point and somehow stumbled upon the horizon. The thing got me off FM4 for good couple of months: colored bands, that festive vibe, absolutely amazing roads and the feeling that you don't want to stop playing the game. Maybe that's because i was much younger, but there are few games I could remember on par with that feeling.

Original Horizon was amazing start of the new franchise and I remember how quick my initial doubts have changed to pure joy after playing for just over half an hour. Gifted my old 360 away for a good cause long time ago, but I would have loved a quick drive around Colorado.

Arrows to Athens

Just recently bought this game for PC, and I suck balls at it. I'm a PS player, and I've been wanting to get my hands on a Forza game for over 6 years. I'm currently using a DS4 to play, as I can't play with keyboard/mouse.

I can't corner very well, and I have a hard time tuning cars to my liking. Any tips and tricks? Also, how do you unlock horns in this game?

Brake before turning. You shouldn't be turning and braking at the same time, since you're basically asking your front tires to do two things at once. Once you realize that, you'll probably find yourself understeering less.

If you want to make it easy, just switch your track/road racing cars to AWD so you don't have to worry about feathering the throttle.

If you need money, I can transfer money to you by buying a car of yours in auction house for 10 million+. I still have about 500 million remaining and I've basically quit the game.

Yea don't brake and turn at the same time is basically the god tier protip when jumping from an arcadey racer to something more sim like - albeit FH is still very much an arcade racer, but it has sim elements.

For tuning setups you can press start while free roaming > creative hub > find tunes and it will show you a whole bunch of tunes people have made for the car you're in. Some of these tunes are set as public, meaning you can have a looksie at what the creator did and try and learn from it.

Horns and other cosmetics are typically unlocked through wheel spins and leveling up the cards (street racing, dirt racing, speed traps, etc). The Forzathon shop sometimes sells them too.

I'm going to link a video on cornering/breaking below. I'd also suggest going for cars with good handling and good breaking. I can't emphasize enough how a car with good breaking can win you races. Good braking allows you to be able to break quicker.. meaning that you can travel to the corner in question, then break later than someone with not-so-good breaks, basically allowing you to be a higher speeds for longer.

As the guy says in the video.. focus more on your speed coming out of the corner, not going into the corner. Don't be afraid to use breaking more than average while you get used to it. Your breaking game can win games.  As the others said, brake first, then turn. This will all become more apparent with experience. If you try turn before you break, it can throw your car out. Build your muscle memory up. Brake, turn, brake turn, brake turn. A car is in more control when you "brake into a corner" as they say - try braking gently. Really visualise how much pressure you are putting on the trigger.

Also, my advice is to turn off the acceleration line first with the aim that in one week of 'training' or two weeks, that you'll turn the brake line off too. I think people still using these lines, never fully learn to drive as they're just following instructions in real time based on what the computer indicates, rather than making decisions themselves. Also, I would suggest getting used to driving with all the assists off. You'll get a lot more bonus money and since Horizon 4 is more arcadey with sim elements, you'll be surprised how quickly and easy it is to drive with no assists. There's nothing more satisfying that using manual gears breaking into a corner and getting a perfect turn. But all that is down the road. I would just focus on braking and being confident in braking.

Also, some advice I should have followed myself. Learning all the tuning at once can be come overwhelming. So, since I've been going on about braking, why not just focus on that element of tuning first. Once you are happy focussing on braking and brake-tuning when you can move onto other areas of the tuning and couple that with a certain driving skills (where applicable).

I know it's advanced but this guy explains things very clearly.

I leave the racing guide line on my self as I find it helps with actually figuring out where to go which can be troublesome at times due to the open world nature of the game, but it is a guide and not a rule. There's a lot of times where it'll go red indicating you should brake but you can go through it flat out with the right line. You also don't need to slam the breaks on 100% for most corners, you can be light on them to maintain speed through the corner, it's really only stuff like hairpins or tight corners where you need to slam the brakes on hard.

Turning off the assists is a good idea though, at least traction and stability, and go manual, it's more credits and just a more fun driving experience, plus manual and traction/stability off is a must for drifting which is a small part of the game but a fun one, being able to knock out drifts while cruising at any given time is fun.

Also as for making money, if you can do it, beating the weekly seasonal stuff for the "Hard to find" or "New exclusive car" rewards can be worth it. Not all of them are super valuable, but many are worth decent credits though you may have to wait a week or two for them to go back up in value on the auction house. Oh and there's a house that doubles the amount of Forzathon cash you earn, it's I think a 2mil house? maybe 5mil, it's free if you buy the VIP/ult upgrade, but it's well worth it cause that shop often stocks some rare/valuable cars.

Buy a 1982 Porsche 911 for $150,000. Spend 19 skill points in the skill tree to get the top left skill, which gives you $300,000. Profit $150,000. Repeat. Don't bother getting the Porsches from Auction House, those usually have the skill tree already used.

You can make a ton of skill points by going to the sand dunes near the beach castle and just jumping/drifting/sliding around for massive skill combos. This is probably the easiest way to earn money. Just use one of the Forza Edition cars that gives you skill boosts. The Renault Turbo 5 FE is what I used.

For 1 extra point, you can also get the wheelspin in the 2nd column on the Porsche skill tree.

Exactly - a guide, not a rule. I think my issue was I was probably treating it more like a rule. Probably a bit overzealous with the brakes on occasion.

Why Microsoft?

Why do you have to buy the Hot Wheels pack even though you have the deluxe version of the game?

Why???

I have recently discovered that the game is on Steam which is fabulous and regional prices are amazing for those who are interested, but I still have questions.

  1. Can you transfer your license from Windows store to Steam or should you buy it again? I know that it is impossible to transfer safe files though, so that's already a bummer;
  2. My second question is basically coming from the first one: I'm using Linux and I would like to try the thing there. Any personal experience of playing the thing on Linux?

Hot Wheel is content after the deluxe version therefore it is only natural that you would have to buy that content to have it in game.

Unless they re-release the game again on the Xbox console with all the additional DLC included  this is unfortunately the only way to enjoy the Hot Wheels content.

Man, it's crazy to think that Forza Horizon 4 has been getting new content for over two and a half years since its release. I'm expecting for the game to get new content for at least another year, even after Microsoft releases Forza Motorsport 8 some time in the future.

I know that it seems very unlikely now, and that we wouldn't see a new Forza Horizon game until a few years pass, but I could see Forza Horizon 5 taking place in two countries: Russia (preferably around the Vladivostok area) and Japan. Of course, FH2 has two countries, France and Italy, but they were both part of one map in southwestern Europe, and I'm thinking that Japan and Russia would be split into two map segments, one for each country, and the player would travel between countries using a ferry. It would be awesome to drive an old Zhiguli or UAZ (possibly restored from a barn find) through the streets of Vladivostok or driving a Marussia B2 at crazy speeds through the Japanese countryside. Hey, you never know.
