DOUGL4S1
Looks great! I also hope it has some sort of progression, not the "welcome, you're the boss of everything, here's a supercar" from 3. Pizzahut and NeonDolphin

Commander S
Hmm - not sure where in Canada or New Zealand some of those scenes were, but it looks cool. I guess this is the first FH game not just set in the one country, then. ...sorry, I'm just amused by huge, dynamic weather shifts, open roads perfect for supercars to tear up, etc. - I get that's what people expect from Horizon, but it does feel like exaggerated extremes of British environments with the usual FH schtick glued on, rather than actually making the most of what little car culture the UK actually (sort of) has: Spoiler Snark aside, I hope they lean into that with the car selection - not just the obvious Aston Martin, Jaguar, McLaren, etc., but the sort of things that are more typical of UK motoring. Would be good to have things that didn't travel all that much, and so haven't been featured in other games as often - the original Focus, the Swindon-made Civic variants, that sort of thing. Also, gotta have some affordable roadsters in there - Triumph Spitfire, Mazda MX-5, and definitely a few of the more popular MGs: Coleco, livejoker and Ivan1997GTA
Homemade Dynamite
So regarding the music... is it going to be full of UK artists?
DEALUX
Hospital Records is already UK based and they featured them extensively for several games now. Ivan1997GTA
I'm impressed. I'm guessing the map is gonna be comprised of Scotland (since Edinburgh is confirmed to be in the game) and parts of England, or, more likely, various parts of Scotland, England and Wales condensed (and possibly Ireland in an expansion?). I also like the changing seasons dynamic in the game, with each season offering unique advantages and disadvantages, which makes sense, since we already got a taste of that in the Blizzard Mountain expansion in Forza Horizon 3, with snow and ice physics. If FH4 features a classical music station, I'm hoping that all compositions of Vivaldi's "Four Seasons" will be featured on there. Of course, there's going to be lots of features carried over from the previous games, like the drone, barn finds (maybe there will be a first gen Ford Escort or a Ford RS200 as a barn find), and so on. And, most likely, custom Horizon Blueprint events will make a return in Forza Horizon 4. Oh, and talking about the music, I know that it's way too early to tell what music will be featured in the game, but I hope that it will be a good selection. Hopefully, like in Forza Horizon 3, players will be able to listen to their own music in a custom radio station. I think it would be interesting if Horizon Bass Arena or Horizon Pulse featured a song by Jamiroquai. And if there's a dedicated rock station (like Horizon XS or Horizon Rocks, not a label-based one), they should include a Deep Purple song, like "Highway Star". update_lsc
It'll probably be just as disappointing as fh3. Boring map, no storyline, very limited tuning and no replay value. Hooray though, seasons totally make up for that. Not. More accurate name would probably be horizon 3.1. livejoker
I'm gonna be one of those guys that isn't impressed. Not sh*tting on the game as I grew up playing Forza and I love the series (well, Motorsport a bit more). Started with the 2nd and all the way up to FH3. I played an unhealthy amount of FH3 that I stopped playing entirely months ago as I had my fill of it. I was excited to see what FH4 would look like and...euh, well, it just too similar to FH3 for me. Green flags, hypercars driven by 20 year olds for a festival that allows street racing, too-cheerful NPC's yapping in your ear, no challenging roads (at least from the demo). Seasons looks great but I'm wondering how it'll change. Surely not real time? Anyone has a source on how seasons work? If not, I'm guessing it'll be by game progression. I know it's the whole shtick of the series to have the Horizon festival but I'm so tired of it. At least don't make us the God of it, throw in a Most Wanted blacklist where we have to race bosses that have actual skills and not rubber-banding A.I like FH3 and most Forza's in the past has. Something fresh! Cause for now it looks the exact same with the same dumb showcases that always end with a tight finish and racing-on-grass sections cause that was fun, right? Sure, the game looks fantastic but so did FH3 when it debuted. I just don't see the replay value for this one. At least not from the demo. Car list may sway me. Winter was very well done for Blizzard Mountain (or whatever it was called in FH3) and was my favorite DLC so the winter aspect for FH4 does interest me. At the moment I'm not buying, will wait for more gameplay and a full car list. I know I'm sh*tting on the game even though I said I wasn't but I just don't see the vision yet. I also didn't get that it was set in the UK just from the demo, looked real generic with no notable setting...at least from me. Coleco
Wooo, UK this time Looks like my neck of the woods with all those hills. Needs moar rain and roadworks! I bet the cars still won't have front license plates though... and I fully expect US versions of Euro models in the game too (like the Rabbit and mangled front lamps on the Volvo 242). That said, I'll be tearing that black cab all over the place... and I spotted a Beetle in there, so VW are back in the series, it seems? GAUNTLET HELLFIRE
I'm really looking forward to this I'll be pre ordering the ultimate edition soon. I'm glad the Hoonigan Focus is back but I will be pretty disappointed if my FPV Pursuit Ute isn't. Also really need an M4 HE. Need to finish FH3 now still have to get the achievements for finishing all championships on Blizzard Mountain and Hot Wheels.
Coleco
Just watched that video clip - And of course there are barely any front license plates, even on cars like the Mk2 Escort and MGB, which look awkward without them. With the exception of a few, they're also literally a recolouring of the small FH3 Australian plates in the footage. The LAND ROVER - of all vehicles - has a US/Australian shaped plate on it. That's just downright f*cking lazy and particularly galling, considering Playground Games are a British company and the Forza Horizon/Motorsport games have always seemed to try to push the envelope in terms of being lifelike... but I can't say i'm surprised. I bet the same cars with texture mapping issues from FH3 haven't been fixed either, because cars like the Fiesta XR2 (A car you had to pay extra for) hadn't been fixed between FH2 and FH3. There's plenty of people who make vinyl plates on Forza games and that's been the case since the early Motorsport titles over a decade ago... but if that doesn't show that there's interest in this aspect of personalising the cars I don't know what would. Guess it is still early days, kinda... and i'm hoping this is WIP footage, otherwise that's already disappointing. OurJud
Wow! What happened to this franchise? Last thing I knew this was a racing sim / direct rival to Gran Turismo. Scrap that. Misumi
If you guys want to try the beta for Forza Horizon 4, it's already out. Just go to the Microsoft store and search for "Forza Horizon 3". GT is more realistic whilst maintaining playable controls on a gamepad (an actual racing sim would be unplayable on a gamepad). Forza is a bit more arcadey but also somewhat more responsive and fun. It's a perfect balance of arcade and sim racing physics in my opinion. The Horizon series is even more arcade but has waaaay better physics than NFS games. 1 minute ago, Noale said: If you guys want to try the beta for Forza Horizon 4, it's already out. Ah, thank you. So I was half right. I appreciate the term sim, when talking about console racers, would be spat on by most PC gamers, but when I use the term for console racers I'm referring to those that aim for an element of realism. I'm a Sony man so never got the chance to play any of the Forzas. I just have a vague relocation of there being somewhat of a rivalry between them and the GT games.
