GTA SA Special Vehicle Guide

This topic is under construction, please have patience.

Acronym legend

BP = Bulletproof. This property prohibits the vehicle from receiving any damage from bullets. Tires will still get popped, though.

FP = Fireproof. This property prohibits the vehicle from receiving any damage from fire. Entering the vehicle while the player is on fire will still set it on fire, though.

EP = Explosionproof. This property prohibits the vehicle from receiving any damage from explosions.

DP/CP = Damageproof/Collisionproof. This property prohibits the vehicle from receiving damage from collisions.

MP = Meleeproof. This property prohibits the vehicle from receiving damage from melee attacks. Due to a glitch, using a parachute on a meleeproof vehicle will still destroy it.

AP = Allproof. A vehicle with all of the above properties (BP/FP/EP/DP/MP).

PP = Popproof. This property prohibits the vehicle's tires from receiving any damage from bullets. This property can not be saved in a garage.

H = Heavy. This property increases the vehicle's mass, which allows it to push any vehicle with ease. This property can not be saved in a garage.

UT = Unique Tuning. Mods that can not be obtained on a certain vehicle under normal circumstances are classified under the UT property.

UC = Unique Color. This is any color that can not be obtained on a certain vehicle under normal circumstances.

UC2 = Unique Secondary Color. The same as above, but this color affects a different part of the vehicle, and is usually not even visible without mods.

NE = No Extra. A vehicle with this property is missing certain components, that are supposed to spawn on it. A well known example of this would be an engineless NRG-500.

Unique = A vehicle that can only be obtained from a certain mission, and can permanently be missed.

1.0. UC2 Black Perennial

Spoiler

Mission
Big Smoke

Requirements
- Sawn-off shotgun, optionally with the Hitman weapon skill

Method
Push the Perennial that was destroyed during the cutscene to any available garage. You can use a sawn-off shotgun to do this, if you've picked one up before starting the mission. But you can also use CJ's body to do this, or any vehicle that is available on the streets. Alternatively, you can spawn a Rhino with a cheat (AIWPRTON on the PC version) to push it.
Once at a garage, open the door and swiftly push the wreck inside and then pass the mission.
Video by Fooking

Notes
- The Perennial is completely black, but only the roof being black is classified as special. The main body of the Perennial can be colored at Transfender, but the roof can't.
- This Perennial can also be obtained by using the black cars cheat (PAINTITBLACK on the PC version) and then finding a Perennial.

1.1. UC2 Classic Red Voodoo (1/2)

Spoiler

Mission
Big Smoke

Requirements
- Any gun

Method
Get on the BMX and follow Sweet. When you see the Voodoo, leave the bike and try to shoot the driver out of the car. If done succesfully, he will fall out of the car and leave the door open. Now take the Voodoo and drive it into your garage, then fail the mission by dumping your bike into a body of water, or by killing Sweet. After failing the mission, make sure to open the garage door again to prohibit the Voodoo from disappearing.

Notes
- This Voodoo can also be obtained during Drive-Thru.
- Despite being invisible, it still has a unique color.

1.3. UC2 Classic Red Voodoo (2/2)

Spoiler

Mission
Drive-Thru

Requirements
- Any gun

Method
Get ahead of the Voodoo that's heading to Grove Street, and kill the driver while he is inside the vehicle. He should fall out while leaving the door open, after which you can steal it. 1.5. AP Tampa

Spoiler

Mission
Nines and AKs

Requirements
- A heavy vehicle, preferably a Fire Truck (for method 2)
- A parachute
- A sawn-off shotgun, optionally with the Hitman weapon skill (for method 2)

Method 1 (fail)
Start the mission and reach the point where you are supposed to shoot the bottles. Instead of doing this, use Smoke's Glendale to push the nearby Tampa to your garage. Park them both inside, and then start punching the Tampa while having the Parachute equipped. Wait for it to blow up, then close and reopen the garage to restore the Tampa.

Video by Warp GT

Method 2 (pass)
Start the mission and get to the point where you are supposed to shoot the bottles. Instead of shooting them, push the Tampa all the way to the small pier at the beach. Push it into the water next to the pier until it's completely submerged, then continue with the mission. If later on the Tampa appears at Emmet's place, you will need to try again and push it in further.
After having dropped off Smoke at his house, head over to the Tampa and push it out of the water using CJ's body or a sawn-off shotgun, then push it to Binco. Now use your parachute to punch it until it blows up, after which you will need to enter and exit Binco as fast as you can. The mission will pass now, after which you can push the wreck to your garage. You can use CJ's body for this, a random vehicle, or even the sawn-off shotgun.

Mission
Robbing Uncle Sam

Method
Once you gain access to the Forklift, fail the mission and take it to your garage. Alternatively, you can also use it to fill up the Mule and then store it in your garage. Then you can pass the mission, after which you will need to open the garage door to prohibit the Forklift from disappearing.

Now place some Satchel Charges next to Ryder and get in the truck. Quickly leave the truck, and detonate the charges. The mission should fail now, and there should be a few Patriots that try to escape. Try to kill the driver, then steal it.

Spoiler

coming soon

1.12. AP/UC2 Black Remington

Spoiler

Mission
High Stakes, Low-Rider

Requirements
- A phone call
- A homie

- Just Business must be available

Method
Please refer to the OM0 setup using 8-Track below Chapter 7: Always available for the setup before the following tutorial.

While holding the phone call, go to El Corona and grab a homie on the way there. Once there, take the nearby Voodoo and drive into the CV marker. Release the action key once Cesar starts saying 'Heeyy', and skip the cutscene after he finishes saying 'CJ'. Now spam the leave vehicle button. If done correctly, the mission should not start again. However, more likely than not the mission will start again. If this happens, you will need to close the game and retry.

Now wait where you are until a yellow blip appears, after which you can proceed to the race start. Nobody knows why, but waiting for the blip actually makes it so the cars that are parked there are no longer stuck. Once at the starting grid the homie will drag out the drivers, after which you can take them to your garage. The Blade, Remington, and blue Majestic are allproof, and the yellow Majestic is BP/FP/EP/MP.

After all the desired vehicles are in your garage, simply start and fail Just Business to kill off High Stakes, Low-Rider. After doing this, open the garages containing the lowriders, as they are still connected to the mission and will disappear unless you check on them prior to saving.

1.20. FP/EP conversion

Spoiler

Mission
Gray Imports

Method
Start the mission and drive any vehicle that you want to convert to Fire- & Explosionproof into the marker at the docks. After the cutscene, park the vehicle inside your garage and pass the mission.

Video by Fooking

Notes
- This conversion can be repeated as many times as you want to. To do this, simply fail the mission by letting the arms dealer get away, rather than passing it.
- Doing this on any vehicle that already has properties will not add these proofings to it, it will replace the already existing ones.

1.21. EP conversion

Spoiler

Mission
Gray Imports

Method
Start the mission and drive any vehicle that you want to convert to Explosionproof into the marker at the docks. This will actually make it Fireproof & Explosionproof, but if you pass the mission whilst inside it it will be Explosionproof only.

Video by Fooking

Notes
- Unlike the Fire- & Explosionproof conversion, this conversion can not be repeated.

1.22. AP PCJ-600

Spoiler

Mission
OG Loc

Requirements (for the pass method)
- A phone call
- A parachute

Method 1 (fail)
Drive down to the road and leave the bike, then kill OG Loc. Once the mission has failed, take the PCJ-600 in the alleyway and store it in your garage.

Video by Fooking

Method 2 (pass)
Please refer to OM0 setup using 8-Track in OM0 guide for the setup before the following tutorial.

Start the mission, and release the action button once inside the Glendale, then continue with the mission until you've reached Freddy's house. Get into the marker here and let the phone ring during the cutscene. When CJ moves towards the PCJ-600, exit it right away and walk towards the nearby strip club to restore the camera. Don't sprint, as that will skip the cutscene. Now walk over to Freddy and kill him using the Parachute, then steal the bike and reverse towards your garage. Don't drive forward before storing the bike, as that will also skip the cutscene. When the bike is stored, skip the cutscene and pass the mission, then open the garage containing the PCJ-600 to prohibit it from disappearing.

1.23. AP Sanchez

Spoiler

Mission
Wrong Side of the Tracks

Requirements
- A sawn-off shotgun, preferably with the Hitman weapon skill.

Method
Kill all the Vagos, then submerge the Sanchez relatively deep in any body of water and kill Smoke. Now push or shoot the Sanchez out of the water, and store it in your garage.

1.24. NE/FP/EP/DP/MP BF-400

Spoiler

Mission
Just Business

Requirements (for the pass method)
- A phone call
- A parachute (for method 2)

Method 1 (only the BF-400)
Please refer to OM0 setup using 8-Track in OM0 guide for the setup before the following tutorial.

Start the mission, and release the action button once inside the Glendale, then continue with the mission until you've reached the Atrium. Go inside and kill all the people, then head outside and kill everyone except two or three guys. Run to the impound garage and take a vehicle from the imppund zone (NOT a random vehicle that spawns inside the garage, but actually something that you have driven before), then wait inside the vehicle until wait the red blips disappear from the radar. When they do, leave your vehicle.

The phone should start to ring, while the cutscene starts. The phone call grants you the ability to move during the cutscene, so keep holding the buttons to move forward until CJ no longer resists to this. (If the bike has exhausts, it is not NE. If you want it to be NE, reload and retry.) Now kill Big Smoke by using any weapon, then store the bike inside the garage.

No video available at the moment

Method 2 (Nebulas, NE Coach and NE/FP/EP/DP/MP BF-400)

Please refer to OM0 setup using 8-Track in OM0 guide for the setup before the following tutorial.

Start the mission, and release the action button once inside the Glendale, then continue with the mission until you've reached the Atrium. Go inside and kill all the people, then head outside and kill everyone except two or three guys. Run to the impound garage and take a vehicle from the imppund zone (NOT a random vehicle that spawns inside the garage, but actually something that you have driven before), then park it next to the info icon in front of the police station. Position yourself in a way that you'll pick up the icon once you leave the vehicle, then wait for the red blips to disappear from the map. When they do, leave your vehicle and start walking forward.

The phone should start to ring, along with the cutscene and the information from the info icon. The phone call grants you the ability to move during the cutscene, which you will need to do so CJ won't get on the bike. If the bike has exhaust pipes, it is not NE. If this is the case, and you want to obtain the NE BF-400, you will need to reload. Otherwise wait for the informational text to disappear, and you will gain a normal camera view again. Now run to the nearby vending machine and buy a drink. This will give CJ the ability again to enter vehicles.

Get back to the impound garage and wait inside for a few seconds, then run back to Big Smoke and kick him off the bike by doing the special front-flip animation. Drive out of the garage, then leave the bike and run to the Packer. Drive it away from the Nebulas, then blow it up. Now take the bike and drive it around the corner, where the Coaches spawn (again, if both Coaches contain branding, they are not NE. Reload if this bothers you). Leave the bike there, then take the desired Nebulas to your garage. Now use a Fire Truck to push Big Smoke towards the Coaches, next to the bike. Kill Big Smoke using the parachute, then double drive the NE Coach and the bike to your garage. After storting the BF-400, store the Coach in Santa Maria Beach or impound it by parking it next to the Broadway at the gas station and then starting and cancelling Pimping. Also, make sure to check on the Nebulas before saving, or they'll vanish.

Video by Fooking

Method 3 (Mobile-exclusive method)

On Mobile, you can't obtain this vehicle in NE form. You can obtain the regular FP/EP/DP/MP BF-400, though.

Proceed with the mission until the cutscene starts where CJ and Smoke get on the BF-400. Wait for Smoke to finish saying “get on!“, and then close the game. Reopen the game and press “Resume”. After loading the game, you should appear in front of the BF-400. Press no once a message appears prompting you to restart the mission, then drive the BF-400 to your garage. If the mission restarts instead of spawning at the BF-400, simply try again.

Drive out of the garage, then leave the bike and run to the Packer. Take the Packer to the bike, then blow up the bike to fail the mission. Now drive to the gas station with the Broadway, leave and re-enter the Packer, then start Pimping. This will impound the vehicle, as that's the only way to store the Packer at this point of the game.

Method 1 (only the BF-400)

Start the mission and kill all the Russians inside the Atrium. Once outside, kill all Russians except the one on the far left. Now run to the nearby vending machine, and wait. After a while the cutscene should start. Wait for it to end and let the bikers chasing you lower the health of the bike until it is almost depleted. Don’t let them destroy it, though. If the health is almost fully depleted, kill them.

Proceed with the chase until the cutscene where the Packer appears. After this scene the bike should be almost destroyed. Jump off the bike once Smoke starts to turn left, and the mission should fail in a few seconds. Now take the FP/EP/DP BF-400 to your garage.

If the Sultan appears stuck, it is AP), and the FP/EP/DP BF-400 and drive them to your garage.

The AP Packer does not fit in any garage, thus it has to be impounded. To do this simply park the Packer next to the Broadway at the gas station, then start and cancel Pimping.

1.29. AP Packer

Spoiler

Mission
Just Business

Method 1 (only the Packer)

Now take the Packer to the gas station and park it next to the Broadway. Start and cancel Pimping to impound the Packer (as it does not fit in any other garage).

Spoiler

Mission
Life's a Beach

Requirements (for the pass method)
- A homie (optional)

Method
Gain access to the sound van and fail the mission, then store it in your garage. The easiest way to fail the mission is by driving the Pony into the water.

You can also perform the "homie glitch" to gain access to the van without completing the dancing minigame. To do this, find a homie first and "equip" him. Now keep trying to enter the passenger side door, until the homie gets in. Now quickly shoot him, which will make him fall out of the van while leaving the door open.

Method
Progress through the mission until you're tasked to jump over the wall. Rather than doing this, push the parked Admiral to the beach and bring a Packer there. Park the Packer slightly into the water, and push the Admiral on top of it so it will be above the water. Take note of the time you've last entered the Packer, and get back to the cemetery on foot. Spoiler

Mission
Reuniting the Families

Requirements
- Enough money to buy a few modifications at Loco Low Co.

Method

Progress through the mission until you're tasked to destroy the Police Maverick. Destroy it, but don't go near Sweet. Instead, jump from the building and go to the fire department to get a Fire Truck. Take the Fire Truck to the motel and drive it up the ramp to reach Sweet. Use the water cannon to push Sweet onto the road, and then continue to push him all the way to Loco Low Co, while making sure to not get too close to him or the mission will continue to the Greenwood chase. Once Sweet is next to the mod shop, grab the nearby Savanna and drive next to him to trigger his dialogue, then proceed to go into Loco Low Co. Wait for the cutscene to start, and once CJ becomes invisible buy any modification that you want on the Greenwood and leave the menu. Don’t buy anything other than wheels, exhausts, front bumpers, rear bumpers, and roof, as other mods will make the game crash. Now wait for the Greenwood to get destroyed, at which point you can push it to your garage to restore it.

Notes

- A sawn-off shotgun may also be used to push the Greenwood's wreck, but you will need to pick it up during the mission before triggering Sweet's dialogue.

Spoiler

Mission
Reuniting the Families

Method

Progress through the mission until you reach the Greenwood chase. Start spamming the menu button (ESC on the PC version) whenever the cops shoot at you, to reduce the time it takes for the Greenwood to blow up. Keep looking at the police car with grey smoke once it appears, while continuing to spam the menu key. Try to let the cops destroy the Greenwood as close to the alleyway containing the police car that's emitting grey smoke, then steal it and drive it to your garage.

Mission
Reuniting the Families

Requirements

- Denise AND Katie as a girlfriend

- A minigun

Method

Please refer to Girlfriend calls and OM0 setup using 8-Track in OM0 guide, as the setup prior to starting the mission is described there.

Start the mission while holding the OM0 call, then skip the cutscene and release the action button. Now progress through the mission until you're tasked to destroy the Police Maverick. Destroy it, then hurt yourself until your health starts to flash, after which you can start the Greenwood chase. Keep yourself and the Greenwood alive through the entire chase, until you've reached the second biker cop. Let him kill you, then after respawning run to the alleyway where the final part of the mission takes place. Once there, stand next to the bush where the Police Maverick starts to fly over the Greenwood during the cutscene. Wait for the Greenwood to reach that point, then quickly destroy it with the minigun. Now take the Police Maverick and store it in the Santa Maria Beach safehouse. After doing this, you will need to start Reuniting the Families again to 'kill' the last instance of the mission. Fail it right away, and then get to Santa Maria Beach again and open and close the garage.

Requirements

- A sawn-off shotgun with the Hitman weapon skill

- A parachute

- A good gun, preferably a minigun (for method 2)

Method 1 (only the Bravura)
Use your Parachute to punch off the door of the Bravura, then continue to punch it until it catches fire. Enter it, then leave it right away. If done correctly, the Bravura will blow up during the cutscene and CJ will be waiting next to it. Now wait for Sweet to die, and then use the sawn-off shotgun to shoot it to your garage. You can't use a vehicle to push the Bravura, as it's scripted to not be movable (though for some reason a sawn-off shotgun still works).

Method 2 (combined with the AP Sabre or Sentinel)

Use your Parachute to punch off the door of the Bravura, then continue to punch it until it catches fire. Enter it, then leave it right away. If done correctly, the Bravura will blow up during the cutscene and CJ will be waiting next to it. Quickly go to Sweet and damage either the Sabre or the Sentinel until it starts to emit dark grey smoke (at which point it becomes AP). Now take it to where the Bravura was blown up, and wait for Sweet to die. Now use the sawn-off shotgun to push both wrecks to your garage.

Method 2 (along with the EP Sadler)

Burn the weed, go into the marker at the Camper and destroy the chopper. Then get into the Camper, and leave it right away. Now drive the Sadler to any garage. Go back to the Camper and kill the Truth, then take it to a garage as well. Before saving your game, make sure to open the garage that contains the Sadler, or it will disappear.

3.12. AP FCR-900

Spoiler

Mission
T-Bone Mendez

Requirements

- A phone call (for method 1)

- A sawn-off shotgun, preferrably with the Hitman weapon skill (for method 2)

- A heat-seeking rocket launcher (for method 2)

Method 1 (double pass)
Please refer to OM0 setup using Bloodbowl in OM0 guide for the setup prior to starting the mission, as the full setup is explained there.

Start the mission while holding the call, then drive towards the Boxville. Don't drive too close, as that will trigger the cutscene. Just acknowledging the Boxville being there is enough. Now drive back to the Pleasure Domes and start the mission again, then drive all the way back to the Boxville. Go near it to trigger the cutscene, then skip it (as it is stuck and will not end naturally). Take any of the stationary FCR-900s (along with the Boxville, if you want it) to your garage. After they're in the garage, pass the mission like normal. Now go back to your garage and open and close the door, to prevent them from disappearing.

Video by toomuchinvigilation

Method 2 (fail)
Start the mission and head over to the area with the Boxville and the bikes. Shoot at one of the bikes that have a package using the rocket launcher to fail the mission. Now use your sawn-off shotgun or minigun to push any of the wrecks to your garage. Don't shoot the lone wreck that's closer to the Boxville than the others, as this FCR-900 isn't AP.

Spoiler

Mission
T-Bone Mendez

Requirements

- A phone call (method 1)

- A parachute (method 2 and 3)

- A heat-seeking rocket launcher (method 2)

Method 1 (double pass)
Please refer to OM0 setup using Bloodbowl in OM0 guide for the setup prior to starting the mission, as the full setup is explained there.

Start the mission while holding the call, then drive towards the Boxville. Don't drive too close, as that will trigger the cutscene. Just acknowledging the Boxville being there is enough. Now drive back to the Pleasure Domes and start the mission again, then drive all the way back to the Boxville. Go near it to trigger the cutscene, then skip it (as it is stuck and will not end naturally). Take the Boxville with the blue marker (along with any of the stationary FCR-900s,if you want them) to your garage. After they're in the garage, pass the mission like normal. Now go back to your garage and open and close the door, to prevent them from disappearing.

Video by toomuchinvigilation

Method 2 (fail)

Use a Fire Truck to push the Boxville away from the FCR-900s. It will most likely not succeed the first time, but you can try as many times as you want. After the Boxville is not near the FCR-900s, go around the area with the FCR-900s (as the cutscene will still happen if you get too close) and take the Boxville to the raised area next to the huge building and destroy it using the parachute. After it's been destroyed, use the heat-seeking rocket launcher to blow up any of the FCR-900s with a biker on it. After failing the mission, push the Boxville to your garage.

Video by LieutenantCB17

Method 3 (pass)

Use a Fire Truck to push the Boxville away from the FCR-900s. It will most likely not succeed the first time, but you can try as many times as you want. After the Boxville is nowhere near the FCR-900s, head over there while avoiding the cutscene. Now take the Boxville and drive it into a body of water. Not too deep, or you won't be able to get it out. However, it must be deep enough in order to be marked as destroyed. Now progress through the mission until you're tasked to go back to the Pleasure Domes. Now push the Boxville out of the water, then go to the Pleasure Domes. Destroy the Boxville using the parachute, then pass the mission while looking at the wreck at all times. After the mission has passed, push it to your garage.

Method

Kill all of the enemies except the one that's around a corner next to the locked Sentinel. Gently park the other Sentinel on top of him, but don't hit him too hard or he'll die. Now leave Woozie behind and go to Loco Low Co. in Los Santos. Enter Loco Low Co. and buy any modifications that you want on the Sentinel (and that won't crash the game). You can add colors, front & rear bumpers, exhaust, spoilers, wheels, hydraulics, nitro and bass boost. Anything else will crash the game.

Method 2 (double fail)

Please refer to OM0 setup using Bloodbowl in OM0 guide for the setup prior to starting the mission, as the full setup is explained there.

4.2. Unique Andromada

Spoiler

Mission

Stowaway

Requirements
- A phone call (method 1)

- Minigun (method 1 & 2)

- All oysters collected (method 1, optional)

- Rhino stored inside the hangar

Method 1:

Please refer to Girlfriend calls and OM0 setup using Bloodbowl / 8-Track in OM0 guide for the setup prior to starting the mission, as the full setup is explained there.

Equip the minigun, start Stowaway, skip the cutscene and when you are on the PCJ 600, quickly release the phone call to gain control, get off, aim - and shoot the PCJ 600 until it blows up. If the mission is now softlocked, everything was done correctly. This part is rather easy; just start the mission again, let it fail and get the Andromada. Now you have to make a decision; do you want to make the Andromada AP? If no, just store it. If yes, you have to once more get an om0 phone call and find a police vehicle on the street. Activate vigilante, release the call and start a date (Barbara is recommended). While doing this, never leave the Andromada for more than three minutes. Complete said date and when you're invited on a hot coffee, fail the side mission by having the (on-foot-) timer run out. Get back to the Andromada, fly it into the water as shown in the video, accept your girlfriend's offer and after the cutscene, immediately undrown CJ and the Andromada. To escape the water, just drive on the ocean floor until it's no longer solid and then just store the Andromada.

Method 2: (only for PS2)

After the mission start, blow up the Andromada using the minigun and push the wreck to your hangar.

(- Sawn off Shotgun ammo / Minigun ammo)

Method 1

Start the mission and take over the hood as you're supposed to. Then kill the guards and before you enter the marker to continue, get the tractor. You need to park the tractor exactly like it's shown in the video, and only now you can enter the marker. Do not skip the cutscene and when you get to the final cutscene, the Infernus should flip and blow up. As the mission fails, push back the Infernus to your Grove Street garage, as it's the nearest and restore the wreck.

OM0 guide

Spoiler

OM0: What is it, and how do you get it?

In all 3D-era GTAs there's a hidden flag that indicates whether you're on a mission or not. When you're on a mission or are receiving a phone call, the game sets the on mission flag to 1, which removes save icons and makes you unable to start other missions. Once a mission is over, or you are no longer receiving a phone call, the game sets the on mission flag to 0, which allows you to save your game or start missions again. OM0 and OM1 are simply acronyms for 'on mission 0' or 'on mission 1'.

However, there are various tricks that you may use to trick the game into thinking you're not on a mission, while you actually are. This allows you to start another mission during a mission, buy a property, or even save your game. Most of the time this will crash your game, but there are some cases where this does not happen, and where it proves to be a useful tool to do other things, like collecting special vehicles.

Since this is the special vehicle guide for San Andreas, I will be explaining in full detail on how to get OM0 while on a mission in San Andreas. This process involves phone calls, that you get from other people such as Sweet or Catalina. Without these, it is unfortunately not possible to gain OM0 during a mission. However, there are more than enough phone calls available in the game that you may use to your advantage. Below the 'Girlfriend calls' section is a list of setups that may be used, along with the advantages and disadvantages of them.

Girlfriend calls

Spoiler

In some cases, such as after End of the Line or Reuniting the Families, there are no regular phone calls available. There are, however, special girlfriend calls that many people don't even know about. These can be used to gain OM0 as well, although it usually takes a longer time to do it with these calls.

The first important step is to understand how girlfriend calls work. It's actually rather simple, if you pay close attention. Basically ever since unlocking your first girlfriend (Denise is the first girl that can actually call you, although you can get several girlfriends before her) the game will make her call you at a specific time. After this call, if no other girlfriend is currently being dated, the same girlfriend will call you again at another specific time. Once two or more girlfriends are being dated at once, a random girlfriend is picked that will try to call you. The girlfriend who's trying to call you is made 'active'.

Active girlfriends

An active girlfriend is a girlfriend who is currently trying to call you. If for example Denise is the currently active girlfriend and you're in Los Santos, she will call you within 45 minutes. If you're in a vehicle or in an interior, a popup will instead appear telling you that you've lost progress with her. If you're not in Los Santos, nothing will appear at all. After either of these have happened, another girlfriend is picked at random who will be 'active'.

Finding the active girlfriend

To find an active girlfriend, the first thing you will need to do is determine what you want her for. If you for example want to use the phone call in Los Santos, then you don't need any girlfriend other than Denise. By killing everyone except Denise, Denise will be the active girlfriend. If you want to have a call in San Fierro, then you obviously want to kill everyone except Katie or Michelle (although I would not recommend killing Denise and Millie, as they can't be met again after being killed, unlike the other girls).

After having done this, save your game and wait outside of your safehouse. It can take up to 45 minutes for a girl to call. If it takes any longer than that, it means that another girlfriend is active. To speed up the waiting time you can use the speed up gameplay cheat, which is SPEEDITUP on the PC version. Remember the time when you've been called, and then reload the game. If a girlfriend has called you at 19:16 and you reload your game, she will call you at 19:16 again. Now you can use the girlfriend calls in the setups below, by going into the marker approximately a second before she is expected to call you.

OM0 setup using 8-Track (available after starting the game)

Spoiler

When you have a phone call available, head over to the stadium and wait for it to ring. Once it starts ringing, cancel it by firing a weapon, or by attempting to enter a car. Take a close look at the radar, and start counting once the mission markers appear on the radar again. Once the phone starts ringing again, you can stop counting. Phone calls before Badlands have a 20 second delay, and later on they usually have a 15 second delay (with the exception of Catalina's calls, which have a 60 second delay). Now cancel the phone call once more and wait for the phone to ring. In the last second, you will need to go into the marker to start 8-Track, after which you need to hold down the menu button (ESC on the PC version). Holding down the menu button is actually not necessary, but it makes it a lot easier. Once the phone starts to ring, stop holding the menu button and start holding the action button (by default, it is TAB on the PC version). Leave the Hotring Racer when you can, and blow it up. The mission should fail, and you'll spawn outside of the stadium. Now you're holding an OM0 call, which you may use to duplicate missions or start them with OM0.

Below is a video demonstrating the 8-Track OM0 setup being done on the PC version

Spoiler

Advantages:

- It's available early in the game

- It's located close to a safehouse, which saves time in case you need to reload a few million times for a certain task

Disadvantages:

- It requires 20% driving skill

- It doesn't work on the Remastered versions of the game (Mobile, Windows 10, XBOX one, PS3)

OM0 setup using Bloodbowl (available after Are you going to San Fierro?)

Phone calls usually have a 15 second delay, with the exception of Catalina's calls, which have a 60 second delay. Now cancel the phone call once more and wait for the phone to ring. In the last second, you will need to go into the marker to start Bloodbowl, after which you need to hold down the menu button (ESC on the PC version). Holding down the menu button is actually not necessary, but it makes it a lot easier. Once the phone starts to ring, stop holding the menu button and start holding the action button (by default, it is TAB on the PC version). If you're using a phone call with a short delay, you can stop holding the action button once inside the Bloodring Banger. If you're using Catalina's call, you will need to continue holding it. Wait for the timer to run out while keeping the car alive, and start holding the action button again in the last few seconds. You will now teleport outside of the stadium while holding an OM0 call, which you may use to duplicate missions or start them with OM0.

Below is a video demonstrating the Bloodbowl OM0 setup being done on the PC version

Spoiler

Advantages:

- It's located close to Doherty and the airport, which makes it a good setup for the UT/UC/UC2 conversion

- It's also located close to Zero's RC shop, which makes it a good location for the OM0 setup for obtaining the RC Barons

Disadvantages:

- It requires 20% driving skill

- It doesn't work on the Remastered versions of the game (Mobile, Windows 10, XBOX one, PS3)

OM0 setup using Trucking (available after Tanker Commander)

Spoiler

When you have a phone call available, head over to the marker for Trucking and wait for it to ring. Once it starts ringing, cancel it by firing a weapon, or by attempting to enter a car. Look at the location of the Trucking marker and start counting once it appears again. Once the phone starts ringing again, you can stop counting. Phone calls usually have a 15 second delay, with the exception of Catalina's calls, which have a 60 second delay. Now cancel the phone call once more and wait for the phone to ring. In the last second, you will need to go into the marker to start Trucking. If done correctly, the phone will ring during and after the cutscene. Now you have three options: you can either take the truck and date a girlfriend for the AP conversion, or go to the airport for the UT/UC/UC2 conversion, OR you can destroy the truck while holding the action button to hold an OM0 call.

Usually you can arrive with a bike and get out right into the marker, but this does not work 100% of the time.

Below is a video demonstrating the Trucking OM0 setup being done on the PC version

Spoiler

Advantages:

- It works on every version of the game

- It's really easy to do

- It's useful for the UT/UC/UC2 conversion, especially on Mobile, because it's in between two airports that are needed for the conversion

Disadvantages:

- It's relatively far away from pretty much anything

OM0 setup using Quarry (available after Explosive Situation)

Spoiler

When you have a phone call available, head over to the Quarry and wait for it to ring. In the last second, you will need to go into the marker to start Quarry. If done correctly, the phone will ring during and after the cutscene. You've successfully started Quarry with OM0 now, which opens up many possibilities.

Usually you can arrive with a bike and get out right into the marker, but this does not work 100% of the time.

Below is a video demonstrating the Quarry OM0 setup being done on the PC version

Spoiler

Advantages:

- It works on every version of the game

- It's really easy to do

Disadvantages:

- It's not really a good setup if you've passed the Quarry missions in a fast way, as you won't have much time to drive to other locations

OM0 setup using Bike School (available after Deconstruction)

Spoiler

When you have a phone call available, head over to the Bike School using a bike and exit the bike right into the marker. If the phone starts to ring, start holding the action button (by default, this is TAB on the PC version). Now leave the menu while continuing to hold the action button. If it doesn't ring when opening the menu, try again.

Below is a video demonstrating the Bike School OM0 setup being done on the PC version

Spoiler

Advantages:

- It's really easy to do

- It's located just outside of Las Venturas, which makes it a good location for the setup for several vehicles

Disadvantages:

- It doesn't work on the Remastered versions of the game (Mobile, Windows 10, XBOX one, PS3)

I'm very glad to hear (read) that. It would be great if someone could test all these Om0 methods on different versions of the game and different platforms.

I plan to remake my Photo Opportunity AP Cars video, so that it shows the Pimping method instead of the Driving School method + I'll cut pointless segments showing driving around to save all these cars. It should be much better to watch.

Does anyone know anything about the AP Esperanto in Mountain Cloud Boys?

My main frustration with locked topics is that they are difficult to quote and  it doesn't provide proper links to the original post. Anyway...

It's a long shot, but this got me thinking. I looked into this Esperanto at one point and came to the conclusion that it's creation is part of a dead segment of code. There is quite a lot of unused code in SA, and sometimes it's hard to tell for sure that the segment can never be executed. But I don't see why mission duping strategies couldn't execute an usused code segment, it's just extremely unlikely.

Well, I just finished up the Los Santos section of the guide, but apparently there's such a thing as "Yeah, too much time has passed since you last pressed save, so we just signed you out of your account and deleted all of your current progress". I'll finish it later today, I guess.

I see. It's a bit of a shame that all that work was put into making those guides only to be closed. With that said it will be interesting to see Ghost Pulaski's new take on Special Vehicles on gtaforums (with the easiest methods obtaining vehicles) aswell as SpriteFan's guides on Gamefaqs (with the best methods for the stats). :) I wish you both the best of luck.

I have high hopes that the host of this new topic won't be so obsessed with perfect stats and methods that they feel compelled to criticize everyone else. The atmosphere is corrosive and pushing conversations away from our forums. I, for one, don't appreciate being judged by players that have never contributed an original thought to the conversation.

The old topic disappeared for a while. I was worried that someone who wasn't even a member when this topic was started somehow managed to remove or restrict everything that everyone has contributed to this topic over the years in a petty fit of rage so I notified the forum leaders. Now the topic is back and locked, which hopefully will prevent anyone from sabotaging the content. Players may want to consider whether or not they are willing to contribute their videos or other content to players that would abuse our trust.

Whether you want to play like that or not is up to the Player, right?  So if the Player reading a Guide isn't informed of such a Method to exist and would LIKE to know how to pass a Mission whilst getting a Special Vehicle, shouldn't they have a right to know?  See, I can play devil's advocate, too.  It works both ways.  Yet, I am somehow the one with bias.  Meh, at the end of the day, the other SA Guide was around for 2+ years and it's been linked to other locations not tied to this Forum, so as long as it's not fully DELETED/HIDDEN, then a Padlock on it or not is all the same.  Besides I personally never need a Guide hence why I gave the ownership to SpriteFan274.  I know where to look for information, I know how to look for information, and I know who to ask for information.  And with each Video Guide on my Channel...Need I say more?  As long as Channels exist and remain showing all the Vehicles and such in a Playlist, that'll help any Special Vehicle collector to get what they need and they will know where to look if they are really into it and want to assemble a Save, etc...

You can't say someone is biased when those saying that are no different.  "Militia doesn't want OM0 in the Guide."  Ok, and apparently the next guy "doesn't want Mission Passed" Methods in the Guides and rather just show each Vehicle individually using a Mission Failure Method for each.  Good logic...I guess...

It's a bit bizarre seeing so many people frequenting these Topics these days when they have not made a single post in any Guides or helped anyone out since they were made.  Yet all of a sudden, they pop out of the wood work and now must know everything about Special Vehicles and have all the knowledge to help people, I guess lol...Now don't take this the wrong way, OrionSR, since it wasn't directed at you personally.  I know you've helped and been around these areas and Topics over the last few years.

I have updated the format a bit. Is it better this way, or do you guys believe I should add back a list of all the vehicles, before all of the guides?

I think a list would be good for searching and stuff, like a summary.

This depends on whether you want better stats or not. Method 1 in the guide requires a failure, while being easier. Method 2 involves passing the mission, but is a bit harder.

I really like paragraphs.

I'm worried that Ghost has not reserved enough space for a complete guide, but maybe the new forum software can handle it. I would recommend against fancy tricks to force in some extra posts. Too much manipulation of the thread structure tends to have some odd consequences, especially on long topics. Again, the new forums might be better, but you might want to get organized first and then look for a clean start.

The hidden structure is nice and helps make the topic more readable but, in the past, hiding the text in spoilers also hid it from searches. I've had issues with both the in-forum search and Google. It will take a while before the web crawlers catch up with a new topic (one reason to avoid manipulating the title of the guide too much), but we should run a few tests to find the right balance between readable and searchable.

I'm glad to see that credits are included. That was something I really liked about the order guides. They helped maintain a history of the collectors. I enjoy reading their names and remembering their struggles and accomplishments. A great deal of that history is recorded here on GTAF. It would be awesome if the guide could link to their original stories so players can find additional clues from the discussion at the time. But that would be a monumental project.

I'll include them as much as possible, unfortunately it is rather hard to find out who discovered what, especially the vehicles that were discovered when SA was just released. Fortunately, there are many methods that have come after 2015 that can be credited to people.

2 hours ago, OrionSR said:

I have reported the original post, in the hopes of a new post being moved after it. At the time of creating the topic I tried making another post, but it kept merging with the first post.

EDIT: Toomuch's reply has been removed, thus I have a second post which should be enough for the guide (maybe one post would've been enough as well, since this guide is straight to the point, without any nonsense added to it).

EDIT 2: If anyone would want to make a video showing the full OM0 setup with 8-Track in detail, that would be awesome. Having one video available to post would result in the guide being a lot smaller in size, rather than having to explain the setup for every LS OM0 vehicle.

Edited by Ghost Pulaski

A lot of the old stuff from System Error on GameFAQs and Krawk's unofficial update topic include references for credit. The Krawk's guide often had links to discovery topics and posts, but many of the links died because the topic got manipulated too much.

Thanks, I'll use it to give credits to the rightful person. Btw, are roggan and Dooom41k the same person?

Also, is there a list of phone calls & their approximate delays somewhere? I'm 90% sure that early LS calls have a 20 second delay, and later calls have a 15 second delay, but is this correct?

toomuchinvigilation

Yes, phone calls before Badlands have 20 seconds delay and later calls have 15 seconds delay.
Here is the list of phone calls:
https://kb.speeddemosarchive.com/Grand_Theft_Auto:_San_Andreas/Game_Mechanics_and_Glitches/Phonecalls

BTW: I'm going to make a video for 8-Track Om0 setup.

EDT: Here it is, though somebody could make a better one.

I'm not sure if it's really needed. Bloodbowl and Trucking are very similar to the 8-Track while Quarry and Bike School are extremely easy.

EDIT: I guess it should be done for the sake of completeness. I'll try to make these videos shortly.

About the Quarry:

"Usually you can arrive with a bike and get out right into the marker, but this does not work 100% of the time."

It should work 100% of the time with high priority phone call (at least on my PC version). Did somebody have some trouble with it?

Ghost Pulaski

I was busy working, but I'm going to continue writing the guide today.

Edit 1: Finished up the Badlands section, except for the UT/UC/UC2 HPV1000, which I couldn't figure entirely. I'm going to continue with San Fierro for now.

Edit 2: nvm
