Mister Pinkerton 8,658 Posted June 8, 2018 Gutted to hear Anthony Bourdain committed suicide. I was a big fan of him and his TV shows. I even picked up one of his books recently, Kitchen Confidential. He lived an adventurous life, travelling the world, being a famous chef and he also kicked a crack and heroin addiction. https://edition.cnn.com/2018/06/08/us/anthony-bourdain-obit/index.html One of my fav episodes.. MCMXCII 2,234 Posted June 8, 2018 RIP Mr. Bourdain. I wish depression didn't exist. It's taken too many people, both the famous and the non-famous. It goes to show you that no matter how big you are in this world, if depression wants you, it'll find a way to get you. I enjoyed watching his television shows and I have yet to read any of his books. He lived a life that so many wish we all could live. He leaves behind a legacy and many devastated fans. GTA3Rockstar 2,644 Posted June 8, 2018 He's been on that road for some time http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2018/06/08/anthony-bourdain-contemplated-suicide-but-says-daughter-gave-him-reason-to-live-in-one-his-final-interviews.html Unfortunate. A permanent solution to a temporary problem.
DareYokel 5,849 Posted June 8, 2018 I heard his name before, but I didn't really know who he was until now. It's a sad thing though. RIP.
Doctor Holliday 213 Posted June 8, 2018 This is pretty tragic. I've been watching his cooking/traveling shows since long before he was a household name with CNN. How come it seems like only good and insightful people become depressed and commit suicide? How come it's never powerful douchebags or evil dictators? Life is stupid. How come it's never powerful douchebags or evil dictators? Life is stupid. Perhaps because good and insightful people despair at the state of the world/ conditio humana. And the sociopaths don't care/ don't think about other things than themselves. Edited June 9, 2018 by Candy_Licker

RANDOMv2 345 Posted June 10, 2018 The world has lost a great talent in the death of chef Anthony Bourdain. He will be greatly missed. I apologize if there is already a thread on Bourdain but I didn't see it. One of the last written projects he had worked on was a 4 issue mini-series comic book called Hungry Ghosts. It's a horror anthology based on Japanese ghost stories. The final story of the last issue is called Cow Head which is based on an old, forbidden story called Goku. There story is said to cause madness and death to all who read it in its' original complete text. With what has happened I wonder how much of the original story he read.
