TheDudeAbides
Quite possibly the biggest car argument in the history of automotive industry, all are legendary cars in their own ways. Since I was 8 years old and my dad let me help him restore our 1970 Challenger(which I still own today), I fell in love with Dodge. But I'm curious to what your guys preference is and why. TheDudeAbides
And guys, this thread is strictly for them models. But there is a thread called " Favorite American Muscle Car" which is for all muscle cars.
GTA-Biker
I fell in love with a classic 1964-66 Ford Mustang back when I was a kid, after seeing the episode of MWC in which Al Bundy buys and restores one. Spoiler It was so cool on TV,I instantly wanted to get one (and I still do,unfortunately they are rare and expensive where I live, but hopefully one day I'll be able to afford it).I saw a 65 Mustang convertible for the first time IRL in 2016 at a car show, and it was just as cool as on TV. Cudwieser
Kinda have a soft spot for GM and have a like of the Camaro. Earlier Stangs are cool and I like the look of the fastback, the bosses and the Mach 1. Later stangs just don't float my boat. The Challenger and Charger is not a debate I want to get into. Both cool and iconic, but I still see the camaro as the blue collar hero. Very versitile by way of upgrading and a wide variety of parts from different vehicles that can be used to make the car you want (GM having probably the biggest parts bin in the western hemisphere). You can play with the Camaro until the cows come home and still have a different car at the start of ever day .67's- 72's I like, but any pre 80's I'd buy (If I could ever afford one). BTW GTA-Biker. This'll make you jealous. Many years ago, when I was about 9-10 years old, my neighbour across the road wasn't well. Late one night the local Doctor who was on call arrived in the only car he could find the keys for. As it turned out it was his mid 60's fastback in White with Blue stripes. A sexy thing it was and as rare as hens teeth. I still remember it and it's sound vividly. Edited June 4, 2018 by Cudwieser GTA-Biker
Doctor Holliday
I'll throw my hat into the ring and say that the Challenger has always been my favorite of the group. The Charger would be a lot closer 2nd if not for the fact that it's just too big and too heavy, like piloting a boat you can't park anywhere! There's really nothing wrong with Camaro or Mustang outside of how ubiquitous and relatively ordinary [boring] they are. Their accessibility lends to their bad reputation since every testosterone-jacked teenager has owned one at crashed one at some point It's kind of amazing how many "bad Mustang drivers" videos there are on Youtube... But yeah, Challenger takes the cake. Bad to the bone with that Hemi package underneath Plum Crazy. (Bumblebee_Prime) and TheDudeAbides
DOUGL4S1
Camaros are pretty much the choice of Brazil, they're the cheapest and most common if them and even found their way into pop culture. Mustangs only came to Brazil recently and both Charger and Challenger are pretty rare and quite expensive here, but I personally love Chargers, both the newer and older ones, if I had money I'd defenetly go for one of them. It is the blue collar association of Cams and Stangs that make them special, especially when you see one cared for and driven with some style and grace. A car that hasn't been wrecked is all the more special than a car that will never be wrecked. Challengers are cars that are almost too precious to be cool Chargers are a good work-a-day car with blue collar appeal (and I would love the challenge of hooning a stock charger), but the Camaro seems a more, all together package. The Stang is a fair and equal alternative, but the Camaro has it. Edited June 6, 2018 by Cudwieser (Bumblebee_Prime)
update_lsc
Challenger. For sure. Especially the widebody hellcat. I love that one. The current charger is pretty nice as well, though. Wish the hellcat was available as a wagon. That'd be my dream car. Spacious and quick.
Algonquin Assassin
I've always been a GM guy and have loved Camaros since I was a kid. 69 is my favourite year. Just love the shape. The latest iteration goes on sale over here next month. Be awesome to see one in person, but if I could own a 69 SS, Z28, ZL1 that would be my dream car. Pavle
I love the 73 Charger and imo it's the prettiest one there is. But it's tied with the 70 Challenger. Wouldn't be able to make up my mind between the two. Mustangs and Camaros are nice, but way too overrated for me.

To resume: only people extremely rich can afford a camaro in Brazil. The old dodge darts and chargers are all we have here. I prefer the chevrolet opala which is a very good brazilian muscle. RamiTR
I'm absolutely a muscle car guy. I love all muscle cars, new & old, but the classic Mustangs have a serious soft spot for me. Especially the 68/69 models! So aggressive & the essence of MUSCLE (Bumblebee_Prime) and GTA-Biker
TheMcSame
Well, these days, I'd probably take a Mustang over the rest. The challenger is nice, but here in the UK, Dodge has outright stopped marketing to us. So imports are the only option, driving a LHD car in a LHD country doesn't sound like the most pleasing experience. The Charger, it's a saloon with a big engine. If I want a powerful saloon, I'll take something more refined like a BMW M3, which also doesn't require me to go through the hassle of importing and living with a LHD car in a LHD country. The Camaro? Never really been a big fan. As far as old muscle goes, if I had to choose one, again, I'd probably go for the mustang. But honestly, I'd take a Dodge Dart over all of them any day. The Buick GNX is also pretty nice as well. (Bumblebee_Prime)

ARC8_1982
Quote One word : GOAT. Have You seen that one ?, it's 1966 lines ? I mean Coke bottle styling, this is the nicest thing car design could ever get. GTO rules, 1964 - 1972 that is, as 1973 - 1974 were the falling years. AndyC-M
America has built some amazing looking cars, aggressive and stylish, and no matter how old the car gets (even after 50 years for some cars) they still turn heads. unfortunately, the uk is too sensible and scared to rock the apple cart. regarding the 4 cars mentioned in the title, for me, its the challnger, i love the look of the 69 challenger, but love the recent version, the hellcat, the demon more so, and am i right in saying that i read it has 800bhp? wtf! on a side note, i also love the 70 plymouth 'cuda hemi. i guess i'll just stick with my diesel 4-door family car... sivispacem
In all fairness, a) the UK hasn't had a proper domestic car industry for 20 years and b) for every glowing beacon of awesomeness to come out of US marques there are several hundred lumps of absolute sh*te. asadog2 1 AMD Ryzen 5900X (4.65GHz All-Core PBO2) | Gigabye X570S Pro | 32GB G-Skill Trident Z RGB 3600MHz CL16 EK-Quantum Reflection D5 | XSPC D5 PWM | TechN/Heatkiller Blocks | HardwareLabs GTS & GTX 360 Radiators Corsair AX750 | Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic XL | EVGA GeForce RTX2080 XC @2055MHz | Sabrant Rocket Plus 1TB Sabrant Rocket 2TB | Samsung 970 Evo 1TB | 2x ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q | Q Acoustics 2010i | Sabaj A4
Adrenalist
I can’t stand any of these, actually. I’ve owned quite a few and have driven most. They’re ok at best and subpar at worst. The American automobile industry as a whole is just not very good compared to what else is out there. And I’m not trying to take a dump on what other people love, I’m just saying what my life experiences have led me to feel. I love older muscle cars. They’re beautiful to look at. They sound amazing. And they have nostalgia in spades. But beyond that, they suck. And I would never want to own one. Ever. The newer reiterations just don’t do it for me. They look okay, but everyone has one, they don’t boast of good craftsmanship, and they still lack a ton of refinement that you can get from other automakers. I loved Ford’s flat plane crank, but for the money you could buy far more sophistication. I loved the Demon, but for the money, again, you could buy a far better engineered and executed vehicle. And the ZL1 sounds like a riot at WOT, no doubt. But I can’t go 5 minutes down a road without seeing a Camero. It’s like the Apple phone of cars. My love affair with the automobile started with American muscle cars. But as I worked on them, tuned them, fixed them up, I also decided to also try other manufacturers. So, I tried Japanese, as they were the hot thing. And then later I tried zee Germans, Italians, and British. And now there is no way I could go back to an American muscle car. I wouldn’t even rock a Corvette. (Although I admit, I would rock an 00’s Ford GT). I really wish America would do better with their sports cars. I just don’t find them amusing in the slightest. el carlitos
You should check the first episode of season 3 of The Grand Tour on Amazon Prime. They "compare three muscle cars. The Ford Mustang RTR Spec 3, Dodge Challenger SRT Demon and the Hennessy Exorcist Camaro. Bad ass episode. Maybe the best Grand Tour episode so far. Standard Deluxe 59
If I was in the market for a newer sporty car, I'd pick the Challenger because unlike a Mustang or Camaro, I actually fit comfortably in a Challenger. Plus it's bigger, looks better in my opinion and has the surprisingly potent Pentastar V6 as standard instead of a damn four banger. Classic car? Everyone and their mother seems to have a Mustang so once again I'd go Challenger.
DJ-Jelly-Doughnut
I know this topic seems to be mainly about the older models. However I'm tied between Camaro and Charger. I had a 2010 6.2L V8 Camaro 2SS. She purred like a kitten. There are days I still miss her. Only problem with her was I had to constantly baby her so I sold it. I also had 2 chargers. Also newer models.. 2008 and 2012. Out of the two I preferred the 2008, different body style.. I miss it most. I sold it while I was time traveling.. I'll get another sporty car again one day. Maybe I'll spread my wings and get a Challenger.. I've never found Mustangs to be too appealing unless they're older.
