Levelling up stopped being fun at rank 100. I don't know why R* didn't just cap it there and make it take a lot longer to reach, instead of making an unrealistic level of 8000 which no one will ever reach in the game's lifetime.

Because it's an instant flag of a hacked account, whereas the original cap (800? 1000?) could reasonable have some players reaching it, as they have done.

 

I saw an 8000 wearing an asshole tee and dunce cap in my last XB1 session.

I would hate to burst your bubble but this isn't a GTAF problem, this is an Entire Internet problem.

As said in my post, GTAF didn't used to be like this. I used to lurk that sh*thole called reddit and I frequent YouTube hourly so I know what you're talking about. GTAF was always sort of tight nit though. There were regulars and old members and you knew them and they knew you. If you acted like an ass, you were seen as an ass, but they forgave you if you improved. Now? Maybe it's just the fact that the V section's have grown tremendously but it's kind of hectic. The overall positive attitude - which believe it or not was still prevalent when making complaints or debating opinions - has gone. In comes your typical message-board attitude. Snotty teenagers who think they know it all, random preteens with horrid grammar creating worthless threads, cynical 20-30 year olds putting everyone down and acting like they hate drama when they love it, people who claim to accept opinions or not be fanboys but turn around and bash people for views clashing with theirs, sad f*cks who like to put everybody down and call them kids or autistic or entitled, randoms who sign up to bash the game, randoms who sign up to defend it through thick and thin and etc. Occasionally you'll get quality new members. But some of them don't last long or have the tendency to break rules. Some of the older members have turned into asshats, some of them just moved on to the older sections of the forum or just left altogether. I joined because of a V rumor back in 2012. This place reeled me in. It was so fun. Now it's toxic. I could just up and leave but I tried that for four months earlier this year. Didn't work out. As a devoted GTA fan I want to discuss GTA with real GTA fans from time to time. Not some clueless f*ck on reddit or YouTube or iGTA5. Those places- you already know. Certain opinions will get you flamed and insulted. This place was different. Is it any different now? A little bit but month by month it's becoming just another fan forum. You come here and try to post your views, negative or positive or whatever, and someone will flame you. You could be as nice as possible. But if your favorite GTA is VC or SA or IV or V you will be called something. If you make one complaint, you're a fanboy, whiner, hater, entitled, spoiled, kid, autistic, have a short attention, unhappy, stupid, etc. Cynical pricks, hypocrites, bullies, trolls, diehard fanboys, spammers, that's what this place if becoming full of. Community my ass. Not anymore.

it could have been lag, and what lobby's we get put into other then invite only lobbys, is purely random.

I kill myself trying to claim the bounty, as it turns out the motherf*cker was passive... after a while he leaves with my bounty and I'm stuck without a complete daily objective

 

this is the first time I even bothered trying to complete it in weeks and out of everyone I get the 1 motherf*cker who is passive!?

I submitted a support ticket to Rockstar along with the video I posted on page 555 of this thread explaining how my friends & I were screwed out of the Criminal Mastermind challenge due to a glitch in the game not through any fault of our own. I didn't ask for money, but I did ask for our challenge to be restored to where it was after we finished Series A Funding so that we would have a fair shot at completing the challenge. Instead of admitting that there are glitches in the game and telling me that their development team are working to improve it, this is what I received in response.

They asked for proof by my awards and I just wanted my % but they gave me 500k bc of it.

The amount of players side to side sniping with the Marksman Rifle there are now. They're usually wearing a Heavy Combat suit and for whatever ridiculous reason, a rebreather or night vision goggles.

 

I'll also add griefers in the Free Mode games. Players that have no intention of playing the game but rather to be a bit of an ass. Some level 300 blew the bike up that I was only a few metres from delivering then flew off.

It's definitely all on their end! The group I was playing with finished the Criminal Mastermind challenge last night/today and the only issues we had were due to lag. Of course it probably didn't help that I was playing with 2 friends from the UK and 1 friend from Brazil LOL. As long as we weren't close to each other it wasn't too much of a problem, but if we rode together or had to do a task in close proximity (especially with the friend from Brazil) the lag would get insane. Rockstar really screwed up by not having dedicated servers for all platforms instead of the sh*tty P2P system they have now.

Why don't you just place the bounty on a user who is not passive...by just looking at the map you can see who is and who is not.

Thats a little contradicting, its not on their end if they have P2P, because P2P does not use any Servers, so its on your end.

 

However Dedicated Servers are a must for any big Mutliplayer game, I don't get why R* doesn't bother for them, its not like they are that much more expensive, since their P2P system which they try to "improve" all the time is WAY more expensive and harder to develop with....

I was mad at a jet griefer who undid his load on me then went into passive but I still placed the bounty, he laughed at me over the mic. Just a minute or two later he had my activated bounty on him

Placing a bounty on a passive player doesn't not take them out of passive. I've tried this before and it does not work. I kept killing this guy who repeatedly came after me and he decided to go into passive and set a 1k bounty on me. I set a 9k bounty on him, thinking it would take him out of passive but it didn't work. He was displayed as being in passive and the indicator was red.

Reminds me of how my crew does playlists. I'm not exaggerating when I say I win every playlist. I'm tied as top dog in death matches with the leader himself with only about 3 other active crewmattes passing as good. In racing, me and a comm are always fighting for first. Most bets are placed on me.

 

I sometimes wonder why my recognition as the best player in the crew doesn't get my higher than a Lt., but what evs. Its not the end of the world.

Yesterday i stolen a NPC's car, and recieved the "you f*cked with the wrong man" SMS, but not the bounty alert, because i quickly got into a Penned In area, as soon as the event was over, the Bounty went live. Hope it helps.

Yes I can confirm that is how it works. You are not taking out of passive, but once you get out you will not be able to go back in as the bounty will kick in. A bounty is set on you once you get the text message from the NPC, but you don't necessarily have it on you till you're out of passive.
