So yeah, Camera and Repair Kit. Still as stated last time, Basic Repair Kits are Atomic Shop item which means you can also unlock by using Atom Points from Challenges. Improved Repair Kit only drops exclusively from SBQ. This comes with additional note that Bethesda acknowledge the concerns and still hold on to their words. They believe Repair kit doesn't do any unfair advantage, but should it cause any, then they are ready to amend it.

Flocks of braindead morons are obviously still using this to bash regardless. Some of those people are the players themselves who should have known the game better than some regular gaming idiots.

https://fallout.bethesda.net/en/article/64xBDO2aEDqzWOsXuWPtle/fallout-76-wild-appalachia-patch-8-5-notes-april-23-2019?utm_source=Community&utm_medium=Social&sf101639000=1

We’re releasing Wild Appalachia Patch 8.5 today, which brings the ProSnap Deluxe Camera and two forms of Repair Kits to Fallout 76. We’re also making balance adjustments for some Aluminum items and applying a number of bug fixes. Catch a few highlights from today’s patch below, and then read on for the full patch notes.

PATCH HIGHLIGHTS

ProSnap Deluxe Camera: Find and equip this new functional Camera to snap photos more easily than ever before, begin the “Bucket List” quest, and complete Camera-related Challenges!

Basic Repair Kits: New single-use consumables that can be used to repair one item to 100% Condition without using any crafting materials. You can visit the Atomic Shop to purchase Basic Repair Kits.

Further below, we’ve also shared additional details on our thinking behind adding utility items like this to the Atomic Shop.

Improved Repair Kits: New single-use consumables that can be used to buff one item to 150% Condition without using any crafting materials. These are rare items that can be earned by completing some types of in-game content.

Balance Adjustments: Aluminum Trays, Oil Cans, and Empty Cans now provide Aluminum when scrapped and we’ve increased their base Cap values.

NEW FEATURE - PROSNAP DELUXE CAMERA

The ProSnap Deluxe is a functional in-game camera you can use to fill your Photomode Gallery with snapshots of your adventures.

The ProSnap Deluxe can be equipped and favorited like a weapon.

Use the “Aim” button to look through the Camera’s lens, and then press the “Attack” button to snap a photo.

You can use a Tinker’s Workbench to build a ProSnap Deluxe and apply mods, like lenses.

The Camera uses Film to take photos, and you can use the Tinker’s Workbench to craft additional Film.

When you take aim with the ProSnap Deluxe, it will also display the names of nearby locations and creatures it recognizes in the viewfinder.

Learn to craft a ProSnap Deluxe Camera by finding a broken one on the corpse of a tourist who met their end in the Wasteland.

Once you’ve acquired a Camera, you’ll begin the new “Bucket List” quest, which allows you to finish the tourist’s photography collection, if you so desire.

Many new Camera-related Challenges have been added to Fallout 76 that you can complete using your ProSnap Deluxe.

GENERAL

NEW CONSUMABLE UTILITY ITEM – REPAIR KITS

Repair Kits are new, single-use consumable items that immediately restore the Condition of an item in your inventory. They come in two forms: Basic Repair Kits and Improved Repair Kits.

BASIC REPAIR KITS

Each Basic Repair Kit you own can be used to restore one item in your inventory or Stash to 100% Condition.

Basic Repair Kits do not consume any of your crafting materials when repairing an item.

Additionally, they cannot be crafted, dropped, sold to vendors, or traded with other players.

After acquiring a Repair Kit, use it by opening your Pip-Boy, finding an item that you’d like to repair, selecting the “Inspect/Repair” option, and then choosing “Repair Kit"

The number of Repair Kits you own will be displayed to you on the “Repair Kit” button in the “Inspect/Repair” menu.

Basic Repair Kits are unlockable in the Atomic Shop using Atoms you’ve purchased or those you’ve earned by completing in-game challenges.

Please note: If you purchase Basic Repair Kits by entering the Atomic Shop from the game’s Main Menu, they will be added to your most recently played Character’s inventory. Prior to purchasing Repair Kits, please ensure you’ve logged into a world with the character that you’d like to receive them.

IMPROVED REPAIR KITS

Each Improved Repair Kit you own can be used to buff one of the items in your inventory or Stash to 150% Condition.

Like Basic Repair Kits, Improved Kits cannot be dropped, crafted, traded, or sold, and do not use any of your crafting materials when consumed.

Improved Repair Kits are not available in the Atomic Shop. They are rare items you can earn by completing in-game content.

They are currently dropped as loot by the Scorchbeast Queen and may be added as rewards for other types of in-game content in the future.

If you own both Basic and Improved Kits, you will be prompted to select which type you’d like to use when repairing an item.

A NOTE ON UTILITY ITEMS IN THE ATOMIC SHOP:

First, thank you to everyone in the Fallout 76 community who took the time to share their feedback and concerns about adding a utility item like Repair Kits to the Atomic Shop. Over the past couple weeks, we’ve examined all the feedback and today we want to share our thinking when it comes to these types of items and how they relate to the Atomic Shop. When we originally announced the Atomic Shop last year, we said that it will not provide anything that offers a competitive advantage. We remain committed to that statement and take it into account when we evaluate every new item that we bring to the Shop, both now and in the future.

Tbh i think removing the need for ballistic weave or whatever it is for repairing armor once you're are over level 25 would be a more effective way than repair kits but then I'm not that bothered by their addition.

I can't see me using repair kits.  My armor is tough as nails and it seems rare that I stop and fix it up.  Been ages since a piece actually broke.  I'm so used to my weapon loadout being designed around a weopon breaking in battle.

Now...the camera I will use.  Such a pain in the ass to exit to photomode when you want to capture an instant shot of some action or something wacky.

Oh...and what's with the dickheads attacking my camp in survival mode?  I thought they fixed that.

Oh oh oh oh...and what's with them still not fixing the Kill a Wendigo while wearing a clown costume misc quest.  I do it -it leavesmy quest log - I sign out - I sign in and BLAM!  Kill a Wendigo while blah blahblah pops up on my screen.

Getting this week's weapon is beyond easy to cheat on. I just farmed eastern penitentiary for weapons in adventure and then hopped in survival to break them down. Lol

1 down 4 more to go. And a week left!

Just got to make sure my spawn point isn't a train station.

Btw the good bye emote.is weak. It's the same wave emote with a different "sticker"  and since you have to switch between the 2 as they occupy the same space, I won't be using it.

Day 2

30zYQhw.jpg

~75% 80% there. So easy. Molotovs are going to be a pain, 34 remaining, 1 adhesive per and I only have 90, it's going to deplete me more than I'd like. Trying to find some mutfruit to plant so I can have an adhesive farm. Couldn't even buy some at vendors.

Moved my camp (for this character) because it kept saying someone's camp was there. Weird because I haven't moved it since tentative plans. Lol

So weird coming in and already being 3rd on the leaderboards. Today 1 and 2 had 2 and 1 kills respectively.

You have to find a camera on a sight seeing ghoul.  There are some maps out there where they might show up.  I have yet to find one.  I read someone had to server hop over 10 before they scored a camera.

Finally

mVXDV1S.jpg

I know it only took 3 days (and a half) but it was such a pain. I kept running out of mats, first beer bottles, then oil, then fertilizer, then oil again.

Add the level up daily and I'm exhausted. Come on Bethesda. Give us back the simple level up daily. I'm sick and tired running around like a Jack ass as a responder owl and what not. And fewer and fewer apply anymore.

Can't wait for the camera.

(Angel locations map link in spoiler)

Mainly using the camera/emote glitch. It may be random but it's the closest I can get to FT right now. Lol

Gosh...

Anyway, they have new Inside the Vault for the Pioneer Scout and Backpack system.

Armor plating, refrigeration, and carry capacity confirmed as mods.

Been a while since I've had an adventure like today.

Spoiler

So after server hopping last night I was stunned to find Anne right there in front of me spawning in. Sent out notices on Reddit as well as here. I was able to help one other person at least. (Oh forgot, I had a L10 life saver and L5 3* vampire bowie. I gifted it to him as he was a level 11)

On to the bucket list, with all the locations in the mire I chose to go repair the camera at the winding path. I was going to ignore "guided meditation" but there was 2 others there. I might've screwed up and started it early but we managed ok. My encumbered ass wasn't running up stairs so I planted next to a speaker. It turned out that was where all the action seemed to be, my 3* Grognak put in some work, I had to snack on some supermutants though. Afterwards had to clean up a couple of scorched on the way to the basement for the tinker's bench.

A stop by the ski resort train station to shed some collected weapons. A little unnerved by the SB overhead but despite being in danger it didn't engage and flew off.

First bucket list stop was uneventful. 2nd stop was at the occupied megastop in a defend event. A wave hello and a thumbs up seemed to convey my peaceful intentions, just wanted some plans and a pic then I'd move on. Defense timer counted down to reveal we were facing a scorchbeast. No ducking this one. Oh well combat shotgun/enforcer stopped it in mid air and my gatling and I'm assuming his minigun made short work.

After leaving the 3rd stop I received an invite and I for once decided to consider it. Low and behold a level 30 just down the street. I uncharacteristically joined and was immediately hit with a help request. Of course I wasn't able to make it and he respawned. I could just watch as his health depleted, this time I was able to revive him. What took him down? A SHEEPSQUATCH! My 1st. And of course as I do anytime I'm unsure of the enemies attack pattern, cripple it and then move in with Grognak. Got a lame auto-stim leather arm.

So our missions coincided, I had to go to Dolly Sods and he had to repair the scorch detector in front of it. There a level 58 joined our team. A quick pic and the 58 FT away followed shortly by the 30. I check the map at they were summoning me to silo Charlie. No easy way to message them so I left the team and quit the game for a short break.

Logging back on my next stop seemed so far away. Well I got my camera. Put it in hand and give a little wave. Load screen and I'm by thunder power station. Wave again and I'm further north. I need to go south. Face north and wave, now I'm further north by Abbie's. No matter which way I face I keep going further north. One more time and I fall to my death and it kicks me off the server. DAMMIT, just lost my sheepsquatch skull, horn, fur and quills.

Log back on and there is no getting around it. I have to walk. On my way I get free range. I get to meet Grognak, Nuka COWla and the other one. Soon a half a dozen players in PA join on me and off we go. I get enough hits on the sheepsquatch to get a berserk's assaultrons head. Meh.

So then it's a bit anticlimactic, knock out stop 5 and 6 and the game crashes. Take a break for dinner.

Yeah. Double xp has been crazy. Must've gone up 14 levels in 3 days.

Further adventures.

Spoiler

I log back in and make my way to Berkley Springs, 7th and final stop on the bucket list. As I make my way there I stop off at the empty but claimed workshop to add a suppressor to my hunting rifle. It hasn't been getting much use so it might as well be my silent take down weapon.

While I was there I get a defend mission. I could always use more plans so why not. It ends up being anglers, why did it have to be anglers? 3 waves no less. They're not even entering so my mines aren't doing me any good, in fact they seem to be waiting me out, hiding behind houses.

So I pop some psycho and hop down, shotgun and axe at the ready. Their numbers drive me back indoors as I'm taking shots of them through the door way when the damn door gets destroyed. Bounty. No good deed goes unpunished eh.

I manage to take out the 1st wave but now I have new priorities. Preservation of junk. Off to red rockets to stash the essentials, adhesive, nuclear material, crystal, silver now too and ballistic fiber. The rest I can sacrifice. I don't want to sacrifice my armor either so strip down. Then I find a nice blending in outfit, I mean the sooner I get rid off the bounty the better but I don't want to be the victim of straight up trolling.

My feelings are mixed, head to the busiest area and let myself be victimized. Go to flatwoods and let a low level brag on how they took down a 60. They're probably all secondary accounts anyways. I even was thinking just keep the camera handy and glitch away whenever somebody shoots. Several test runs prove inconsistent, from nothing happening to jumping about 50ft away to plummeting to my death and disconnecting and losing everything again.

I log back on and the situation solves itself, free range close by. Off I go dragging my heavily laden carcass across the mire. I manage to make the event about halfway there. Sure enough, standing in the middle of the herd 10 seconds in, automatic explosive fire and I'm dead. Ok. Partially what I was there for. Spawn back in and get some damage on the sheepsquatch. I got a 1* vampires gatling, I love gatlings, currently only had a level 30 and vampires pretty nice. Best weapon I have next to my 3* assassin's Grognak axe. (I forget about the action hero I just got)

I pensively wait continuing looting the sheepsquatch. I'm not sure if I'm in the clear yet and I want to keep everything I get off of him. Even with thumbs up being bandied about I hold off. I just got the club plans and want to make one. Decent weapon , where to try it out?

THE BURROWS!

I was there earlier in the day but had to leave but ultimately this will be my first play through. I'm looking for the other entrance this time and enter. Hey here's the brotherhood body people have been talking about. I actually get a quest this time, before I was just wandering wondering what was the purpose. So yeah. The burrows lives up to its reputation. A nicely done interior, highly un-utilized and a poor finale. At least the sheepsquatch club was useful.

So nothing left to do but set myself up for the next play through. Destination belly of the beast, make my way to a safe location to spawn and time to go to bed.

Yes it is strange yet I am too. And it's not even about the increase carry capacity if you can believe it, I know I'm only going to dig myself deeper with that.

I think with me it's just immersion. Been running around since 3 carrying all this junk in a skin tight jumpsuit doesn't feel right. Too bad we're not getting all those backpacks they showed.

It's weird as yesterday i saw a picture on the storepage showing some form of backpack esque items on one of the original launch shots (not sure if these are items for story missions) but made me wonder if they had them in the game amd stripped them from launch.

^it wouldn't surprise me, although there are... Well you know. The trapper chest price and civil war outfit have backpacks.

I've been very vocal on the devs talked about numerous Fastnacht masks that we didn't see until the event. I'm sure they knew where the stills would be placed as well.

And there is plenty of stuff already in game that we will see come to fruition. Strangled vines, the make shift antennas (not the enclave ones) the printers (I know there was an election event in the files but that seemed to only involve the civic center printers) and of course my favorite conspiracy, the clumps of dirt and vehicles around Watoga.

We will have Player Vending, Legendary Exchange Machine that scraps Legendary for secondary currency for transaction with the Legendary vendor.

Sales made through player vending will be cut by 10% to maintain in-game economy. That's gotta be some non-sense BS I read since GTAO newswire articles.

Waiting for the legendary vendor has been a pain. Been sitting on 30 pieces since that one player dumped a whole bunch on me.

Edit: NICE I hadn't read the article. It's nice we'll be able to start converting legendaries into currency next week. Open up that space 8 was just complaining about.

Only problem I see is that there probably won't be any good stuff to buy from other players.

Everyone will be exchanging their legendary stuff for scrips and not selling them for caps.

So the player vendor machines will probably be full of stimpaks and water.
