I always wanted a flying creature that wasn't a pest like the Cazadors or the annoying bugs from 4 that were impossible to shoot outside VATS

The flying creature had to be mothman. If we don't get a f*cking mothman quest, i'll be dissapointed. I'm interested to see if there's any multiplayer to this. I hope it isn't trying to be a MMO, a simple co-op in the fallout universe would be amazing.... as long as it's not forced.

Anything online with people requires gold.

Being forced to play online just sucks, I'm sure it'll still be a great game but a fallout game without offline just sounds wrong to me.

This is an interesting game *could play solo- I'm totally playing online, I've always wondered what would a fallout online would be like

It's a hard pass for me until we get more details on the "solo" play option.

Online only means no free mods, right? Bummer.

No VATS also, right? Or will the world slow down for everyone, making it even easier to grief other people? Becomes a regular FPS game.

Online only, how will they handle the settlements? Will they be something temporary? What happens if two people log in with settlements in the same area? This sounds like a bad deal.

He said I can "play solo", but he didn't specify single player. Solo likely means "well you don't have to team up with others!". If there's no way to play it without other people being there, it'll be a pass.

Unless there's a way to setup an "instance" with friends. Then I might consider giving it a go.

i can play offline with out randoms right? i would get 76 if i can be alone with out randoms in my game. where i can do what ever i want with out ppl joining me.

One of the main criticisms to Fallout 4 was that there were too few populated settlements. Clearly Bethesda thought "If we don't have any populated settlements, there won't be too few of them." They fixed the problem from the ground up.

So from what I get from these two videos:

1. This game can be played Solo, though no confirmation if we can play Offline / no forced online connection

2. Photo Mode. Yeah.

3. You can build anywhere, move anywhere

4. Your buildings seem to be destroy-able by hostile attacks.

5. You can get attacked anytime by other player.

 

My speculations by comparing it to another games:

1. The game may be co-op based, but you still able to save game locally and play solo and offline. But this is possible to be like Borderlands that as the game progresses, the enemies will be just too strong and spongey to kill solo, unless you use specific OP build and equipment.

2. The fact that your buildings are destroyable, this smells a cash card scheme or equivalent and heavy grind gameplay. This reminds me of people's complaints in Conan the Barbarian survival game where your hard work can be destroyed in the pettiest way possible.

3. My first guess on the multiplayer is a shared world just like GTA Online. But since we have building feature, it no longer seem plausible for me. What if your building spot overlaps with other's?

4. Hence I think it will be Host-lobby based where troublemaking grievers can randomly invade their victims like Dark Souls...

5. Or, the world will be Server based where you can choose from many official servers and your creations (buildings) will be stored in the server you were building those only. Inb4 modders build everywhere until you can't walk or auto destroy everything.

 

I really don't feel good with this so far. More confirmation to dissolve my worries about offline play, grieving, and grinding would be nice.

 

Is release date confirmed to be 31st July?

I don't know, man. I'm sure being griefed will get real old real quick. People with far stronger gear than you coming down and breaking down your bases, or simply spawn camping you or whatnot. 

 

Not looking forward to that.

 

Playing with friends only must be an option.

How does your brain work? Online has never been an indicator of quality.

 

Bethesdas Fallouts have steadily declined in quality as is, and I bet this will take an ever bigger dive.
