I know people don't want to like this game for whatever reasons or thoughts... and I don't want to sound like I'm championing it just to be opposite of the flow but...

I am really enjoying this game.  It is very much Fallout.

I don't understand why and how anyone can call it empty or lonely.  It's just like all other FO games walking in the wasteland listening to the radio on your pipboy(sure someone will bitch there is no DJ furthering along "the story").

Twice tonight I ended up running a random human.  It's like "oh sh*t" on both sides.  And then it turns into coop battle.  After the battle - disburse.   That senerio has happened at least 5..6 times during my times playing.

Outside of the basics I don't usually pay attention to weapon and armor crafting and such in FO games.  This one I can't stop.

It's like The Sims but in FO as far as dividing up tasks and time.  But more fun because the resource hunting happens out in the crazy FO wasteland.

*wife asked me to take a break and watch some football.  :)

I've played the beta, and I'm a believer in this game now. If you look at my past posts here, you can see it's a pretty big change.

And I've thoroughly enjoyed my time with the beta. And am really looking forward to the release. There were bugs, but that's what the beta was for. Now they've caught a bunch of them, and can fix them. The PvP wasn't nearly as big a hassle as I thought it would be, the gunplay is still solid. I don't like much how the new VATS works, but I can live without it (as I did often in 3, NV, 4). Lack of NPCs isnt bothering as much, as there's still tons of quests and you're getting a lot of lore and exposition through them...

And this is just the beta version. They'll make DLC, they'll add more content, more regions, more characters... This has a pile of potential, and I think it'll live up to it.

I can't play 76 yet, maybe around xmas, but so far from what i've seen i'm really liking it. I don't see why so many people have been complaining saying things like: "i'ts not fallout", "looks like it's from 2005", "can't play solo" etc...

I've been watching Oxhorn's streams the last 3 days, haven't seen all of his latest stream yet (it's still live as of writing, will watch the rest tomorrow) but from the 15+ hours i've seen, i can safely say It definitely feels like a fallout game (minus the NPC's), it looks good with some nice looking and varied environments, and you can play solo if you want (just stay away from other players). Ox spent almost the entire 9 hour stream alone, discovered plenty of lore (even finding a secret underground communist facility which was quite well hidden), completed some events (not all, some were too high level/required more players), and learnt the hard way that some regions are too dangerous for a low level (enemies being 30+ levels higher than him).

So far i'd say the lack of NPC's is not that big of a deal, although there may be one or 2 NPC's still alive, but they are hidden inside buildings talking to players over loudspeaker, at least that's how it seamed from the few seconds of a clip i saw from the greenbrier event.

One thing people seem to forget is that this is NOT Fallout 5, or New Vegas 2, it's a spin-off that is trying something different, if you don't want to play a fallout game in the same game world as other players, then simply don't play it.

Once i get a high end PC (could be a very long wait), Fo76 will be top of my list of games to try out, along with Fo4 (damn 0kb problems on PS4 have forced me to quit Fo4 until i get it on PC, unless sony/bethesda work together to sort out the problem, which i doubt seen as Fo76 is almost out now)

Thanks cola!

A day of firsts for me. Got my first mutation. The marsupial. Didn't even knew I had it, just though it was a glitch I was jumpimg so high. It wasn't until I was notified I had cured it by taking radaway that I had seen it was a mutation.

Got power armor.

Got to (wanted to) play with people (friends)

Started on my camp (mainly because my stash was full)

First annoying player.

First announcement a player got murdered. (Friend got it, I didn't for some reason)

First monster sighting. The Mothman.

Gotta say over on ps4 we haven't got a single patch/update and it's buggy as f*ck (and still 96 gigs)  I hope/imagine all the bugs on pc are similar to the ps4 version and get fixed in the release's version.

I found a legendary .44 revolver with a bugged name and without any description. I was able to break it down, you normally can not break down legendary items, but it worked on the buggy one. Also built my real first camp, just a little shack with all of the workbenches, a bed and 8 level 4 turrets, i got a lot of oil but im always out of adhesive or glue or whatever it is called, in the english version. I think these are the 2 last beta sessions, after that we have to wait for the full version on the 14th.

I wasn't happy with any of my pics so I'll have to try again at next bata but...

I'm happy with the progress of my camp.  People were even coming up and taking pics (and heart emote'ing me).  I think its because its visible.  It's on a hill in between the one medical center and junk yard.  Electricity with lights and all.

There is a update for the beta, you should download it, so your prepared for the last 2 beta sessions. The update is 29.51 GB large on PC. Must be a very long patch notes list i guess. :D

I was just re-reading trip's post and it reminded me of an incident I had.

I was wandering the map and came upon this farmhouse and it had 5 or 6 liberators in there. I cleared it out and proceeded to clean it out. As I was looting the upstairs the liberators re-spawned and proceeded to shoot at me through the holes in the floor. I was dodging lasers when I heard someone else below fighting them, they obviously re-spawned because of him. I decided to help him out so I jumped down through the one of the holes swinging the old barb wire walking cane. I can only imagine him freaking out where the f*co did he come from. Lol

It seems many people are beating the sh*t out of overleveled enemies. Though honestly their tolerance of bullet sponge may be different than mine, but still good to know that they can defeat them while having a sufficient ammo supply.

And of course gotta love those driveling little brats trying to deny the victories by making hypothetical examples.

Nice to know about that. Maybe ill stick with RDR2 and ride 3 for november

This is the point of the BETA, though, to catch these issues and fix them. Bethesda already released a note saying they are aware of the issue and fixing it.

Doesn't seem to be an issue that can be fixed with a patch, its how the game works.

Could possible be left as clear text during beta for easier testing/tweaking.

Uh, how do you think patches work? By fixing how the game works. Bethesda already said they were looking into it, and that some of the things mentioned by the guy aren't applicable to Fallout 76.

Finally some real insight on the beta experience. So many crying about PVP, stash and such over on the Bethesda site.

No way 76 is as toxic as gtao multi, or is it?

Can't waitings for this too drop! I've always wondered how Fallout would play out online since fo3 & vegas.

Anything has the possibility to be toxic but I just can't see trolls dealing with weapons breaking and the survival elements. (No I haven't played Ark. Why do you ask?)

But so far my experience has been great. I've been mainly avoiding others (because I don't want to go into areas where others cleared out the enemies.) I've been able to lose others easily using stealth and my friend who was a level 4 was attacked by a level 7 and I wasn't. Although I would say he's the type of player we all dread. A 7yr old squeaker incessantly pestering her for launch codes.

And these past few times playing with friends has been awesome.

See, that's the kinda input was lookings for. From what I understand crouching will take you off radar, wish that dev was on the R* team for that.

Plan to go mute mic coming outta 76, but I gotta every now & again get into a crowd turn on mic to say in my most grisly supermutant "I wish a buckethead would show up, I'd rip his legs clean off" then mute mic again.

I didn't see if crouching takes you off the map but I assume so. I remember watching a player pass by me and then couldn't find him on the map. Either he crouched or fast travel.

But crouching takes you off the compass and hides your game tag overhead. A friend confirms teammates (me) can be seen even while crouching. I assume it was my overhead.

Was it really squeaker brat or are you saying that just for mocking a naggy person you met?

I didn't hear him but my friend said he was a young kid and kept asking for launch codes over and over.

So if I over embellished and triggered your defense mechanism by conflating a nagging kid with a "squeaker" then here is my non-apology apology.

When I read your first line, I felt sorry for your friend for having to meet that kind of player as it is quite alarming to know that this player exists in FO76 BETA and the potential in the future.

After I read your second line, I really hope in the next session you guys play it will be infested with these squeakers up to the point where your ears bleed.

I'm sorry but you chose an unusual tactic of criticizing a community member that has taken time to earnestly relate his experience in defense of a random person whose only traits you know of has been espoused by myself, defending a player (the aforementioned squeaker) you most likely will never meet.

So.you can see my confusion when I received what was an unjust attack. Have I offended you previously? Are my posts annoying you? Am I to take that I'm the driveling little brat you are referring to in your post that immediately proceeded mine? Am I to assume you misread my story of that other than what it was which was me helping him, possibly catching him.off guard when I dropped through the ceiling? Or do you really take offense to someone trying to kill enemies that you are trying to kill? Especially when they are the weakest most insignificant enemies in the game so assisting is really no claim to glory. I really don't know.

So as of now I honestly extend an apology, I felt targeted, that is why I felt targeted, I'm over it, I can let it go. I hope we can move on.

There's no soul to it, no artistic vision, no innovation or uniquity, it's just a generic boring multiplayer shooter with Fallout's title. Everything that people enjoyed from the earlier games is gone.

It's not being demanding to just tell the truth, it's a f*cking horrible idea. There is only one reason 76 exists, money. No creative vision, no creativity whatsoever.

This description reminds me of gtao back in 2013, but look at us now.

As with all Fallouts I ran through and gtao to an extent...It's what you make it, and to me that's Fallout. Especially Fallout 76.

Know why the vault is 76? I got a theory.

Bethesda posted this on Reddit:

Quote

Hi all,

We’d like to extend our sincerest thanks to everyone who played the Fallout 76 B.E.T.A. The stories you’ve been sharing, the feedback you’ve provided, and the issues you’ve made us aware of have been appreciated along this journey.

We’ve been reading everyone’s comments and wanted to share some of what will be addressed on or close to launch and what we’re investigating post-launch.

We encourage you to keep sharing it with us whether that’s on Reddit, social channels like Twitter and Facebook, and our official forums.

Thank you again for your continued support.

  • Ultra-Wide Support: We will support 21:9 post launch. Once available, or shortly before, we’ll be sure to post our patch notes that let you know when to expect it.
  • Larger Stash Size: We’ve seen this one come up a lot and understand the frustration. While the Stash size at 400 weight limit can get easier to deal with over time, we do plan on increasing it in the future.
  • Push-to-Talk: While we aim to create a consistent experience no matter what platform you’re on, we understand that some of you on PC would like the option for Push-to-Talk. Our goal with voice chat being on by default is to highlight that the world is alive with real people, other players like you. We like to start with encouraging player interaction and will look into adding this in the future.
  • FOV Slider: We haven’t supported FOV sliders in our previous games as it is known to break a lot of animations and causes a lot of clipping to occur onscreen. You do have the option to zoom out in third person on PC by holding View and moving the mousewheel, but we won’t be able to have it for first person view.
  • Exploits of Various Types: Many exploits we’ve seen reported have been known and will be addressed in a future update.
  • Issues with social menu and inviting friends/making teams/etc.: Those who were experiencing issues with the social components will find that many of these issues have been fixed. We will continue to fix issues as they arise as fast as we’re able to, so keep letting us know when you run into them.
  • Hunger not being sated: Some were saying their “Hunger bar” wouldn’t replenish no matter how much they ate or how cleared of diseases they were. This issue has been addressed and will be in a future update so no more hungry dwellers.
  • Loud Gunshot/Noises: The issue of players hearing sudden random gunshot/loud sounds around Appalachia will be addressed in
