I've preferred the looks of leather armor although sturdy more than heavy. I do want to give wood armor a try but can't make any yet and only have found a chest piece. I figure it's the closest to ghille suit we're going to get. Also wish we have the option to wear armor over outfits as well as under. I'm happy with my police uniform but I want to to be a wasteland cop, not a regular one.

As for the game I kind of prefer rdr2 but I have both so what am I going to do. Also online remains to be seen. I am still enjoying it but I have a friend that can only afford one and I want to guide her to the best one.

I also stumbled across someone's camp. I spent a good 10min making armor and repairing weapons. I haven't played with photo mode yet but my ps4 graphics do not seem as nice.

Totally hear you.  I'm not a big fan of the cosmetic wear that covers your armor.  That's why I'm gonna keep it traditional.  Although I think we might get some cool armor stuff.  I ran into a level 50 character and he had some kick ass looking armor and an equally crazy looking helmet.

It wasn't Enclave or power armor.  It was a pretty smooth non bulky metal... Solid white with typical dirt and scuff marks. The helmet was similuar to a protectron head...but small and with a bit more of a wider bucket look.

Since I'm MMO socially awkward(opposite in real life) I was intimidated and it isn't like I was gonna set up a screenshot on him.  :)

It was at Poseidon power plant.  There were 2 events happening at the same time.  It was a madhouse.  At one point I actually died by being hit with a picket sign.  I guess there was a worker strike there once.  One of those new aggressive Scorched used the protest sign as a weapon and I had near zero health.

Got a Power Armor at level 5 and have had no real problems since, unless I got attacked by invisible zombies or my FPS dropped to 0. Just ran into high level areas with the first gun I found (even before that) and everything died, even when they were 7-8 levels above me.

The PA had T-60 parts on it, but they require level 40... lol.

I played the full 9 hours yesterday, and i must say i really like the game, i played 9 hours and didn't even die once. Almost reached level 10, i did some quests and tried to figure out the game mechanics.

Barely saw any ppl tho, i was walking around alone all the time, and it still was easy enough, it's balanced pretty good.

This will be my number one game for the next few weeks/months. I would love to get back in the game right now, a shame the servers are offline now. :(

But one thing really pisses me off, that i can't remove mods from weapons to add them to other higher level weapons of the same type. So we basically shouldn't mod any of our weapons before we reached level 50. :(

Found a legendary level 5 .44 Pistol with 12 instead of 6 bullets in the drum. :D

Kills me.  Even worse is the message you get when you try to log in.

"Required Entitlements"?... makes me feel like such a surf.

Gotta admit while playing rdr2 I've  been wishing I was playing 76.

And here I thought I was bad ass because I got my shotgun, hatchet, laser pistol and blunderbuss lol. (Disclaimer: I refuse to watch those "power armor location" videos. YouTube has ruined 76 enough for me)

I did found a power armor but only took the parts and the fusioncore. How are we suppossed to store it as a low level anyway, without a frame for it. Im gonna worry about that stuff once i am level 30 or so.

I found some power armor but left it untouched.  I never ever use power armor.  I may have to change that with 76...still gonna try to not use power armor.

Anyway...just in case.

I don't have the beta but I've heard the game is garbage unless you're playing it with friends. It's sort of a Friday the 13th type of thing, where the game is trash but the people you play with make it a great time.

In other words, a hard pass from me.

I tried to get those codes and nothing was in my transaction history. Maybe they're not live yet.

Edit: got them now.

am glad this sh*t is getting ripped apart all across youtube for being a f*cking terrible beta (and a terrible game).

this means if it underperforms at launch, we're effectively forcing Bethesda to go back to creating singleplayer games.

I LOVED Fallout 3, I liked Fallout 4 a bit more than most people did. They had their flaws, but they were overall, great games.

Fallout 76 is just a joke. It's Bethesda subscribing to popular trends to get some more money. Did anybody who is a veteran Fallout fan actually want this sh*t? No, it lacks roleplaying, story, interesting world, EVERYTHING people played and enjoyed the past games for.

You could say that is admirable they're trying new things, but they're not. They've stripped Fallout 4 of what it made it enjoyable, slapped a multiplayer system onto it and called it Fallout 76.

I don't think you understand why It's getting ripped apart. Granted I didn't watch your video but I've seen plenty. The primary complaint is that the engine is decrepit. Meaning if you like fallout 4 this isn't far from it. Also apparently it's going to be used for your single player games elder scrolls 6 and starfield so all the complaints about performance will be applicable and more to those.

Don't get me wrong, there is plenty wrong with the game but I'm having fun in spite of it's faults.

That is one critique of it but not something I want to highlight. The engine is a HUGE problem especially with this game, performance issues, stability, etc, but there are so many more complaints. The community could get over the engine easily like most of us did with the past Fallout games (Fallout 4 was a literal NIGHTMARE in the urban areas). Bethesda are known for reusing their 20+ year old engine with minor changes with every release. If this is applicable to 76, it sure as hell is applicable to Fallout 3, NV, Fallout 4, Skyrim, Oblivion, and the list goes on, yet all those games were mostly critically acclaimed, at least they weren't as ripped open as Fallout 76 is at this point in time. That's due to them actually having somewhat acceptable visuals for the time of release. 76 looks horrible.

Fallout 76's biggest problem from what I've seen is the overall shallow experience. There's no NPCs, the quests are predictable, horrible PvP, clunky gunplay, etc. It's just a large boring landmass. Gunplay was terrible in the earlier Fallouts but that was acceptable because PvP wasn't the focus (because it didn't exist) and neither was PvE the main focus, roleplay was.

You really can't say same same about fallout 3 and ES6 but since that wasn't your point, I needn't go in depth.

I look at 76's barren landscape as 2 fold. 1) it's a social experiment, throw people into an apocalyptic wasteland and see who becomes raiders and who becomes good guys. True the horrible shoe horning of factions betray that but people wanted a story, a fallout story and I think that was a fourth quarter bone throw. 2) This allows them more freedom in the future. If there was a deep story structure then the future would be railroaded. Even worse is trying to accommodate multiple endings. This way they have the freedom to take the story whatever way they want to take it. More importantly they are looking to the community on how they would want the story to go. Appalachia is a blank canvas.

A third way I look at this is it's a separate product. Getting mad at 76 for not being a standard fallout single player experience is like getting mad at fallout shelter for not being one either.

Either way cool. You're not going to play it and nor do you.have to. Like I said 76 has it's problems (I personally have a problem with it's convoluted form of PvP. I frankly would rather it go back to straight up kill or be killed template, just no radar) and I think it's going to struggle. I however play fallout 4 like a loot based shooter and getting to do that with friends, well I'm looking forward to it.

I heard otherwise but oh well.

Correction: it's just the pessimistic meanderings of a games journalist. I shouldn't have take it as any source.

This isn’t really just a meme anymore, Bethesda’s engine is an active turn-off, and I am concerned that they seem to be determined to keep just upgrading and upgrading the engine for future games like Starfield and ES6, rather than wiping the slate clean.

I still like the Engine, because it's the most mod friendly Engine of all. Im just pissed they removed MSAA and replaced it with TAA, it looks so horrible.

Beta is 2pm -9pm EST today.  Don't f*ck up your times. :)  Also...isn't this the last beta before they take it away 'till release?  Waaaa...

*I like living in EST... I never need to do time math.

I really wish people weren't so close minded when it come to this online Fallout experiment.   The gaming crowd grows more and more demanding and ungrateful with each year.  No one owes you anything.

Why do so many people make preconceived notions?  Why so easily influenced?   Is it just part of the new "jump to outrage" generation(s)?

I was only able to get a couple of hours in during last nights time.  Because of that I primarily focused on my camp.   I'm doing one enclosed structure with the basics: bed, and various crafting stations.  f*cking resources are killing me.  I'm going to try and never move my camp.

RPG and Fallout fans want depth and choice. Not a surface level mediocre multiplayer shooter like Fallout 76. If we wanted that, we would all go play that new Black Ops 4 Battle Royale mode or Fortnite.

What makes Fallout is roleplay, storyline and exploration, all of which are non-existent in Fallout 76 except for the desolate boring world bundled with the game. Fallout 76 has no worthwhile story, no NPCs to accompany that story, no opportunity for roleplay.

There's no soul to it, no artistic vision, no innovation or uniquity, it's just a generic boring multiplayer shooter with Fallout's title. Everything that people enjoyed from the earlier games is gone.

It's not being demanding to just tell the truth, it's a f*cking horrible idea. There is only one reason 76 exists, money. No creative vision, no creativity whatsoever.

It's would be like seeing Super Mario Bros get turned into a First Person Shooter. It would be f*cking dumb, it wouldn't be appropriate or exciting and it would be a shell of it's former self. People who played the previous games would be angry, and those who play FPS games would be disinterested.

Trust me, this will be the new Fallout: Brotherhood Of Steel in no time. It's written in stone at this point.

Who died and made you spokeperson for Fallout fans?

This plays just like Fallout 4. Modders have tried for years to add multiplayer to Fallout 3, New Vegas, 4... So a multiplayer shooter is pretty much what a good portion of the fanbase is asking for. So...

Also it's very ignorant of you to say they're only doing this for the money, and there's no creative vision or creativity being put into it. I assume you've spoken to all the devs assigned to the project then?

Your comparison with a FPS Mario is also completely retarded. This is literally a standalone multiplayer version of Fallout 4, something that a portion of the fanbase has been asked for (otherwise multiplayer mods for FPS Fallout wouldn't exist), and something to scratch the Fallout itch while we're years away from 5.

From the reception at r/fo76, the Beta has been highly successful and the players who were interested in the game are having a great time with it. I'm beginning to see the potential with it too, with some DLC and whatnot down the road expanding the content even more. You can be salty with the rest of the naysayers, but I'm beginning to think that Bethesda has a very good game on their hands.

I always wanted a Multiplayer Fallout but, i had something else in mind, like just adding a coop mode, without removing all human npc's, but FO76 is still fun to play without them, so i guess it's okay for a first attempt. Maybe they add a normal coop mode to the new Elder Scrolls and Fallout 5 too, but without removing all normal story elements. I would be okay with it, if it's completely optional of course.

And just in general don't judge games, you haven't played yourself.

Took the words out of my mouth. I've been loyal to Bethesda for a good while, but this just looks like a shallow cash-grab in every way. Speaking as someone who loved both FO3 and NV, their handling of the Fallout IP in recent times has been questionable at best, but this one finally confirms to me that they just don't seem to care anyone.

I'm very, very fearful for Elder Scrolls VI if this is anything to go on by.

Hard to take anything after your opening statement serious... if this is your opening statement.

I'm a FO and RPG fan.  I also own (and play) BlackOps4.

E:

As far as FO and RPG...the depth and feeling of RPG is far deeper in 76 than it was in 4.  To say this is not an RPG is just ignorance.

Really not a fan of the way this looks. I watched some streams of the Beta and it looks very clunky & empty. I don't know what they were thinking not having NPC's at all, but it's a terrible design choice. Just makes the game feel so barren. I can see it being fun for a little while with friends, but there really doesn't look to be a whole lot to do on the grand scheme of things.

Ok. That explains it. I got gunslinger too. Collect and scrap weapons because I was unlocking mods while doing that.

Still struggling with the whole perk card systrm. I understand the concept, it's just clunky as hell. I never know if I assigned a card or a point correctly and I've open up new packs, seen cards I like, seen they are not locked but after viewing what other cards I have available, I can't find them again. Additionally, you have 50 levels and 50 points to assign, you also start with 7 points but you can only assign cards 1 per level? That means you can only have 50 points in cards used, not 57. I'm sure they'll increase the level cap eventually but that still means you'll forever be 7 points behind.

Im pretty sure they remove the level cap completely after the beta, but you will only get more AP and HP and Perk Cards, but you still can only assign the same number of perks and special attributes like if your level 50. There will be a lot of bullet sponge PVP assholes out there then i guess. I mean it's like in Fallout 4 were you could also level up pretty much endless.

Or you don't get higher than level 50 but only get more perk cards, but also can only use the same number as if your level 50.

Another beta window opens in like 13 minutes, don't forget to play. :D

Edit: Oh it's still another hour to wait, damnit, forgotten we changed from summer to winter time in germany that's why all my beta times were always wrong. :D
