Wait. So when the blueprint is made, you can copy what you have made or you basically are moving the thing that has a blueprint?

 

Example you crafted a cooking station. Then you make a blueprint of it. Then does that cooking station get removed for you to place it in another spot or you can make more cooking stations from the blueprint without mats required?

The blueprints just act as a snapshot of your campsite (or maybe just some complex structures).   So if you craft a cooking station and then add it to your blueprint when you move camp and call up your blueprint the cooking station will be built right were you had it originally. 

 

I think it will work best if you make blueprints of larger structures to preserve all your hardwork and then build your camp from multiple blueprints when you pick up and move.

 

There is a button to 'add structure to blueprint' and a button to 'grow structure'.  My one structure was a raised floor, steps, 3 walls, a roof and a sleeping bag -  I had to hit 'add structure' once and then keep clicking 'grow structure' to get the whole thing  blueprinted.

 

I think they need to work on the blueprint mechanics in general.  And im not just talking working mechanics... even the UI in buildmode could use some changes.  You can have multiple blueprints.  There are no thumbnails or clues as to what is in your blueprint, so if you are going to use multiple blueprints you better name them very specific.  At the very least the UI should tell you the needed resources to build the blueprint.

I'm enjoying it.  4 hours of the stress test and a bit over 3 hours of lastnight's beta.   11pm is way past my bedtime, 9pm is when I start falling asleep on the couch...so the fact that I had to drag myself away at 10:20 last night says something.

 

It's like living in FO4 after you had finished all the story quests...but better.  

 

I'm pretty well steeped in.  I feel like my character and I feel like I'm living in the wasteland.

Wow. This beta system is horrible. 4 days between sessions and only 2hrs. Might of well just hope Nov. 14th comes soon then rely on the beta.

Nice. All those times work for me. I just have to gear up, make sure I have my meals on hand so I don't have to cook something up during those times.

I can only play on these days:

 

01. Nov 19:00-00:00 (All Platforms) 5 Hours
03. Nov 22:00-00:00 (All Platforms) 2 Hours
04. Nov 19:00-02:00 (All Platforms) 7 Hours

 

And only around 4 hours on the 4th November because i have to work the next day. So i only get around 11 Hours out of the Beta, i hope the other Beta sessions are at better times. Or maybe they let the servers run 24/7 after the 4th November, i really hope so.

I swear these 2 hour beta sessions are pointless.  Unless they figure everyone is going to run around and not play seriously due to the short time chunk.

 

I ended up going to the airport because it is a main quest area.  That quest get assigned early on but it's so early that you totally get distracted with side quests, daily quest, along with all the intro tutorial stuff.

 

So...since it was only a short beta last night i thought I would just trek to the airport.

 

My interesting take away:  there were a lot of other players there level 5 and above(I'm level 9).  Not one PvP moment.

When did you guys download the beta? Wasn't a couple of days early?

 

I'm just trying to figure out if/when it'll be available for download on ps4 and how will I know. I imagine asking might be pointless because Sony may notify people differently than Microsoft.

You can already download the Beta, i did it right after i read this tweet. It's 48 GB on PC.

Maybe it's only temporary this big, and after it's installed it will get reduced to a more normal size.

 

Still no nvidia gameready driver for FO76.

Maybe but if not I guess I will have to move it over to the external. Wanted to have it on the consoles drive but I won't have much room left for capture of I don't. 

 

Don't worry. I have no aspirations of anything, I am only on a standard ps4, I'm not going to compete against all the glossy pc footage, just have several friends that may be interested.

BETA is downloaded and installed and just checked the file size. It's still 96.81 GB ps4 (non-pro)

Hmm that's kinda weird, that the game is so large on PS4. One explanation would be that you have it installed separatly, there probably is no other way on consoles to get the Beta, so you probably have the Beta and the full game now installed on your harddrive, and after the Beta is over you get the normal size. Just guessing of course, but it could be the case.

 

X-Box and PC version both have a normal size of around 48 GB only the PS version is that large.

So I got my plan of attack. Grab nuka-tapper, grab freebies, exit, break right, grab pipe pistol, break left, down steps, grab machete, make way to purposely undisclosed location, build one stash box on the out skirts, head into town for my day 1 end game then start main quest hopefully long after everyone else moved on.

4th attempt logging in (started at 6:57pm eastern) looking promising. (At least it hasn't said unknown error a 4th time) although as I'm composing this it's taking a bit too long. 

 

Edit: On my 6th attempt at 25min in. 

 

Edit. Frickin hour plus in and still not in. It has the latest version. Don't know whether it's better to restart or does that reset my place in the cue. (If not knowing my progress is the trade off of invisible servers, fk them)

It was a mistake in my part. Turns out somehow my Bethesda account is attached to my secondary account. I don't know why that matters because all my profiles use mods from that account. 

 

So I ended up have a very limited time playing and didn't get to my destination but I had fun. Somehow I only ran into level 2s despite my late start so no trolls yet. 

 

I can see other players being annoying though. I like to get lost in a game, take myself way too seriously and everybody else just runs around.

Thanks for the info, im downloading the additional 48 GB now.  

 

They extended the Beta on the first November.

That's CET 19:00-04:00. Yay this is great, because i didn't get the chance to play last night at all, because i have to go to work in less than a hour.

Nice to hear they're extending the 1st. I heard about the launcher issue PC was having and I know everybody was saying they should extend it. They meant into next week but at least it's something.

As you might have to work it may not change anything but you mistakenly put Nov. 3rd as being only 2hrs long. The beta is actually 4, I hope that bumps you up to 17hrs of beta.

Ran into a level 50 player last night.  Must have been a dev or one of the other privileged few.  I must say he had a pretty kick ass helmet on.

 

I'm level 12.

 

The quests are deep enough that the lack of 'human' NPCs hasn't really been noticed by me.

 

Again... I'm really loving this game.

First off:

-Sorry to keep rambling in here.

And:

-Don't take my excitement as me recommending the game or defending the naysayers.

 

Anyway...

It seems that there is a sh*t ton more interiors to explore.  And not just small one or two room places.  Full on huge factories and huge buildings.   You could probably spend a few real time days in any of the small towns...and that's just the small towns.

 

I'm a solo player kind of person but I totally enjoyed the random coop stuff that happened the past few nights.  I think it's because of that wacky FO combat.  It's like slow fun action unlike the crazy action in stuff like Destiny, The Division, <insert shared world/MP game here>, etc etc.

 

I do very little fast travel and I was excited when I came across someone's camp just plucked down in the middle of the road.  Took a picture.

 

 

 

You know when you are idle in FO and it does that 3rd person spin camera?  I was happy with how my leg armor looked... so I had to take a smiling picture.
