So far people have only emoted and not gotten violent.  :)

My son has been playing as well. The "worlds" he has been in have all been passive. I don't think they want people messing with each other but actually playing so things can be tested.

Yay.  4 hours straight.  It was great.

I'm level 7 and once I had 2 level 7 dudes team up against me.  Killed one...got killed by the other.  There is actually a quest where you are suppose to hunt another player that is hunting another player.  It could have been for that quest...who knows.

Some of the creatures are f*cking impossible.

I'm totally enjoying it.  I'm hooked.  Sucked in.  A part of the world.

Probably if he dies and has to pick up his "garbage" loot that get's dropped everytime you die.

If you die you lose your loot where you died.  You can only respawn in larger discovered areas... usually a good enough 'walk' away from where you died.

The problem is if you die at the hands of a pack of super mutants when you respawn and go to get your loot(from where you died) the same pack of super mutants who killed you the first time are there waiting to kill you again.

What is included in the loot you drop? Is it all the crap you were carrying? Or a selected number of items?

Hard to tell if it was everything or just a random sampling of your stuff you were carrying at the time.  The thing is all junk matters now(it seems) so even crappy trash items have some value.   Hey...it could be all trash but I tend to have weird hoarding issues when it comes to FO.  Ha

I really wish there was another test today.  There is stuff to get used to that I didn't spend quality time with because I was overwhelmed with the test actually being the full game.  A bunch  more nodes on the pipboy, the new way VATS works,  not having the map on the pipboy, figuring out the stash boxes...tons of sh*t.

My biggest complaint about yesterday's test - the radio kept going silent.

Everything that is considered "junk" like duct tape, superglue, aluminum cans, drinking glasses, typewriters etc.

And you need that stuff on the fly now.  I had to repair a computer terminal that required screws and circuitry.  Took me a long time to find a telephone in the general area to meet the circuitry needs.

Im so pissed i still have to wait till the 30th october.. :facedesk:

Edit: It looks like the consoles really are struggling keeping a decent framerate, so many framedrops in all the gameplay videos.

Edit2: The guy in the 3 hour raw gameplay video is such an idiot it's unbelievable. :D

Anachronistic

Still anticipating the game but the level lock weapons and loot sucks. I understand the idea of high level weapons on low level characters but how about limiting usage as opposed to eliminating. Like a low level can use the weapon but not repair it making it a limited usage. Maybe increase weapon degradation/recoil and/or decrease accuracy.

Then the idea of quality of loot dropping depending on your level not the enemies was disheartening. Seeing the players take down a level 80 scorch beast just to have some common junk to drop was just so "why even bother?"

Divinity 2 handles this well. You can use weapons above your level, but their damage and accuracy falls a lot.

Just guessing here i think the max level to be able to use everything is 50, it doesn't take long getting there, and you can still level up after it, to 80 or 100 or 250, but i think only the npcs are getting harder then, you don't get any extra skills or perks or more HP or whatever. Or maybe only more HP and AP, and nothing else. All you have to do is do a lot of quests, open locked doors and containers, hack computers and kill enemies for XP.

Build shelves in the camp, tear them down and repeat, this works without losing ressources, like endless?

Wat?...

Is there a way to some sort of 'confirming' our loot so it becomes our fixed belongings and wouldn't drop when died?

You can store stuff at your camp and "stash boxes" throughout.  That stuff won't be lost.

The trick is not to die.  :)

Pretty easy.  I was all solo for all 4 hours.  After the initial area outside the first vault the crowd thins out.  You see people around - which is neat... but it isnt like you are queuing up at crafting stations or anything.

I'm looking forward to my solo life in the world.  Gonna be a lone scavenger.

E:

The only sad part was when I came upon a shack in the middle of the woods.  It had a banjo(I play banjo irl) and mouth/jews harp.  I played the banjo...but it would have been nice to have someone playing the harp.

After watching a lot of videos, I'm starting to come around the game more. I'm understanding its place better as well.

Does the game feel as lonely and devoid of life as it looks?

I get that it fits the core fallout theme, but it honestly seems like it will reach boring point quickly.

I must admit from what i've seen that has me worried to. I don't know if exploring on its own without interaction from npcs will keep me entertained for long.

There are NPCs you interact with for quests and fun banter.   They just aren't humans.

The Mayor of some small area is one.  Although he is actually a big computer.

The loneliness is handled by more random battles with more creatures than typical fallout.  There are also these mutated humanoids with guns and such.   Those long quiet walks from FO seem to be gone.   Walking from point A to point B felt totally different.   I never walked to point B without a bunch of battles and while picking up a bunch of other small quests that distract you.  Like...you get small quest and are like "hey that is close and seems easy".   And you go to do the small quest...get in some battles and pick up other small quests...totally forgetting the fact that you were on your way to point B.

Jerking For Soup

Fallout 76 DLC is going to be Battle Royale mode. I know it. It'd be stupid for them not to cash in on that.

This is one of the few games where I definitely wouldn't mind it. Dying Light has one too and it's pretty damn good.

I have this pre ordered on PC so I can finally jump into the beta whenever its released (I've forgotten) I'm actually looking forward to it though. Its something different for Fallout, hopefully wont be too many people being dicks while playing. I'll really like the fact I can team up with friends and just go exploring and just hang out. Plus its going to be a great game to kind of sink into and just chill in between Assassins creed and Red Dead.
