Just type "@" before username exactly like they do on Forum Awards in those light blue boxes. Try testing it here @kcole4001

Test: @GrudgefromSanAndreas

edit: Ah, put in the @ and then start typing the name and a list pops up, got it!

Thanks!

You need to make 20 posts to become a full member and be able to edit posts.

So it's 15 for messages, and 20 for full member or am I getting this wrong now? 😮

I'm not sure if the limit has been changed but I think it's 20 posts for both. Members group implies PM access.

Hi, I've noticed signatures slowly starting to come back but haven't been able to figure out how? Is the option hiding somewhere or is it a prestige thing now? Thanks

Can someone tell me how to insert a multi quote from a previous post please? When I try it only inserts one quote from the post I'm trying to use, I then have to go to the post that was originally quoted and put them back-to-back.

Clicking on a multi quote button like this brings up another button Quote *number* of posts (see below). Click on it and you'll see that the quote is embedded into the text editor.

Hi @Jimmy, thanks for that.

I maybe should have been clearer, I can quote no problem, what I'm having trouble with is this.....

The above quote is my attempt at quoting Titania'a whole post from earlier in the current page, but as you can see, it's missing Spider-Vice's quote from within that post. How do I quote Titania's post in it's entirety including any other quotes contained in the post.

Maybe I'm not understanding what you mean lol.

Currently it's for crew members only and nobody gives any info when they'll be available for public use once again. That's annoying.

To avoid quote trains, the forum software doesn't allow for nested quotes. It's nothing we can toggle either, as more and more platforms are doing this to avoid enormous posts full of quotes, which was a large issue for us before, actually. If people want to see more context to your quote they can click the little arrow on the quote block to do so.

Editing posts now shows the post formatted in the edit box instead of showing the raw text. (ex. showing the image instead of the tags and url) I seem to remember there being an option to toggle this before but I can't find it now. Am I missing something or is this feature just gone?

The editor is now fully visual and it no longer works with tags. Well, it does if you add them manually but not the opposite. Not something we can change, it's an Invision Community 4 feature.

Why do I need to click the forum/topic name to get redirected now? And not just any part? It's a bit annoying

It seems like an update today broke a lot of stuff. Quotes no longer have the names of the quoted in their header, the profile cover images aren't displaying, the text in the notification pop-ups is gone, and the thread/section names need to be clicked on rather than the whole block. Not sure if there's anything to be done on the side of this site, or if it's an Invision problem, but I hope it gets resolved soon. Restarted my browser and everything else to make sure it's not just on my end.

Addendum: Also, the selective quote feature is broken, and... the spoiler option is missing? Yikes.

On a topic there are two posts, same date on both but each time is written differently, one is actual date, the other the name of the day the date is set. WTF?!

I was hoping to get a few changes to some threads OP’s in the Crews, Events and Recruitment sections.

I have a few PM’s going with moderators but they seem to have ground to a halt. I was hoping a member of staff could point me in the direction of the best mod/admin to approach to get these changes implemented. I was hoping for either ‘change author’ or a few posts to be deleted.

Thanks in advance 😊

The problem with changing OP's is that we no longer have the toolset we used to have in the previous version of the forum, where we could merge two posts and select who the OP was. Unfortunately with IPB 4 we now need a post from the new OP that is from the same time as the initial OP to do this, sacrificing that post of theirs.

Say that your new OP registered a year after the thread was created by another person, we're basically SOL because their account is more recent.

Cheers for getting back to me Spider-Vice.

Could we we just delete a few posts to make the OP an account of a user who is still active?

If this is possible could I PM you the details?

Deleting the first post of a thread is only possible if you remove the whole thread though, unfortunately. So it wouldn't be possible to like remove the first 4 posts and then leave the 5th as the OP.

There's the possibility of splitting every other post except the first 4 (for example) into a new thread but then you'd have to update links as the topic ID would change.

Edit: Actually, if the thread is huge it's going to be a crapload of work as we need to select posts page by page (select all on each page)...

So I guess that leaves us stuck then...

A bit surprising that that such a modern forum set up doesn’t have a simple ‘change author’ option for posts, and a little disappointing that we are stuck with OP’s we cannot edit. Would this be down to the thread being created on the old forum as opposed being created after the recent update?

Would you be up for splitting a thread that only had 14 posts if the big threads are to unruly to manage?

That's not on us, unfortunately. Invision nerfed some of the moderation tools with v4. Maybe one day down the line once everything is fully stable some sort of mod could be added, but don't count on it.

Sure thing, that seems reasonable.
