This is one of the many missions that are scripted to start when you are in a certain vehicle and in a certain spot. Of course, that certain vehicle spawns parked in that certain spot. You brought a vehicle of the same model and you parked in its spot, thus triggering the mission. These types of scripts are present in s games. If you want to obtain those vehicles without starting the mission, you could push the vehicles away from their spawn points. One example is the fire truck from GTA Chinatown Wars. It only spawns in fire stations and they automatically trigger the firefighter missions. In order to drive the fire truck without starting the mission, you need to push the fire truck away from the fire station.
