Rockstar Game services are unavailable/ files required to play cannot be downloaded

Been in this same freeroam session for nearly 24 hours now, getting "saving failed" messages constantly and a warning that all unsaved progress will be lost if I leave GTAO and I really don't want to lose all these millions I made from double $, last time I saw a successful save was something like 20 hours ago. Also can't sell vehicles from warehouse and can't even buy new cars from websites.

They've made how many billions of dollars off of this game? But still, garbage servers consistently. This is a 7 hour outage for me now, which is horrendous. It's become the main reason I pay for psn. I feel a refund is in order if it's not fixed soon..

I suspect if we got enough and perhaps made up a website for it, their shareholders would be pissed. This game is the reason the company stays afloat.

You can still get into sessions but it sometimes takes an hour or so until your progress gets saved. And I can't play like that. You have to be very lucky to be able to export a car for example. Because you can only start the export while the servers are responding. And they sometimes only respond for a few seconds after one hour. Impossible to play like that, except you only do some vip missions or whatever.

Yeah, obviously. I have it, and it's not that essential, BUT I think everyone should get it. It's fun to do missions in it for a while. Full price? No.

I don't mind losing the money, but I hate it that I have worked for nothing. And it's far from the first time, that's the part that really bugs me. Everything is hugely expensive for casual gamer like me (and I think it should be, within limitations) and now it seems that I ain't getting anything out of that MC business. I have never ever sold a one shipment of weed, I bought it when they came out and stopped playing.

Oh well, if we are lucky, they will compensate somehow. Ain't selling mine for normal price now, just to be sure.

You cant leave GTAO for a long period of time, its a continuous game, new content being added 3 or 4 times a month.

 

Then there are updates that completely rebuild the game, with new activities........ with a game like GTA Online I don't need any other game, after a long day at work my evenings are relaxing in this free roam world building my empire.

 

Anyone who stays off GTAO for at least a month, will be so far behind.

That's kind of true, but I've been playing for so long, that it started to get too repetitive. I bought the CEO, was excited, bought MC and car export and it was overwhelmingly similar every time. I hate the toxic atmosphere of free roam, and that might have been which did it for me. Updates after those seem to have been better in diversity.

And judging by new usernames here and low level players in the game (below 150-200) it seems that GTA is still selling quite well. Old dog is still capable in handling new kids at least!

Not sure if it helps but I tried starting a invite-only, got the error message, hit retry and it loaded me into my session after a lengthy black screen.

Seems like the matchmaking monkey is asleep though, going on 3 mins to quick join a PS heist, that never happens with the old heists.

 

Looks it's gonna be lonely if you end up online, i'll go play something stable for now. Oh and I wouldn't sell anything if I were you.

It's a 12 hour outage at this point. I honestly don't know what takes your servers offline for 12 hours in this day and age, unless they were compromised and they're trying to figure out what data was stolen or edited/injected.
