Liberty City 2d,3d and HD(with the exception of Chinatown wars) is the only GTA city where you can't buy houses in sale or propieties.

1. "Crime and Punishment" from IV is probably the only mission in the entire GTA series where the protagonist is KOed.

I think there was a mission in VCS where Victor gets knocked out and falls headfirst into some cocaine, then has to complete the mission while being 'high' (something like Boomshine Saigon from VC).

I just read about that mission, it's called "Purple Haze".

I'm not sure about this one but I think GTA V and TBOGT are the only GTAs where you can have 2 available missions from the same guy at the same time. (Lester Assassinations(L) and The Third Way(L) and a couple of Tony's missions in TBOGT.)

Do the two mission markers in the Four Dragons Casino count in SA (heist and non-heist missions both by Woozie)?

Well they don't have the same marker. I don't know if the Casino heist can be considered a mission from Woozie. It's more of a "team work" thing.

When Claude enters the Coach in GTA 3, he walks to the back of the bus as opposed to the front.

I might be wrong but...

-GTA IV and EFLC are the only GTA games with multiple mission passed themes.

-Speaking of different themes, GTA San Andreas is the only GTA with different loading themes. (Each theme is slightly different)

I noticed this too! Kind of weirded me out when I first noticed it; I was like "wait, where's this wiggly high synth tune?"

-Among all the 3D time episodes VCS is the only one where the main character starts his adventures in the western part of the map.

-Among all the 3D time episodes San Andreas is the only one where the player doesn't follow an east-west progression since Carl needs to run the mini-state clockwise to reach his goal.

-Carcer City is still one of the only cities we know exists in the GTA universe that has never featured as a city in a GTA game. The closest thing we have is Manhunt.

-Niko's family home did not get electricity until he was 12.

-TBOGT is the only game of the GTA IV/EFLC trilogy not to include "IV" in its title. TLAD's official name is GTA IV: TLAD where TBOGT's is GTA: TBOGT. (Keeping abbreviations just to save screen space, but you get the idea).

-Images of GTA 1 can be found on computer screens at the [email protected] internet cafe in GTA III.

-In GTA VC, LCS and to a bit lesser extent in 3 the player's first safehouse occupies the same location in its city than the city in the map of United States (for example Vice City is a replica of Miami which is in the south-east of USA and the Ocean Drive hotel room is in the south-east of Vice City).

Self-Destructive Man

Apparently, american criminals like to take fashion tips from russian criminals:

In the 3D era, you can wear a tracksuit in VC, SA, LCS and VCS, the only specific outfit common to all this games. GTA 3, obviously, is the only one to not have this kind of outfit.

From what I've learned from GTA series there are a lot of secrets and details, I just found out today that CJ can ask gang members to take photos of him, and the birds in GTA SA are shootable

-Liberty City Stories looks like a wink to the american independance wars. The Leones fight the Sicilian Mafia, an enemy they have close links with, coming from the east and apparently stronger than them (a bit like the American insurgents/patriots who revolted against England). To win against the invaders Salvatore Leone receives a precious help from the outside (Toni's return from exile is a bit like Gilbert du Motier de La Fayette coming from France to help the USA). The Leones defeat their opponents in the east coast like the Americans during the independance war). However contrary to the first Americans the Leones only keep control of their easternmost territory after the war.

-Victor Vance's fate looks a bit like the of the spanish colonies in the USA. Being the only 3D time main protagonist born outside of the US and having a Dominican/Hispanic lineage Vic is aso the only main character who starts his adventures in the west (like the former spanish/mexican territories before they became american). Vic fights an enemy coming from the east (since the Forellis basically come from Italy). After Victor's demise Vice City fastly becomes controlled by someone who comes from the east (since Tommy Vercetti's ancestral origins are in Italy).

Donald Love from GTA III is based on Donald Trump.

The Truth from GTA: SA is based on Willie Nelson.

Tommy Vercetti was voiced by Ray Liotta.

Frank Tenpenny was voiced by Samuel L. Jackson.

Frank Tenpenny and Eddie Pulaski were also based on two real-life corrupt LAPD officers named David Mack and Rafael Perez. However, David Mack was African-American instead of Polish-American and more like Eddie Pulaski whereas Rafael Perez was Puerto Rican-American and more like Frank Tenpenny.

The Ballas and Families are based on the Bloods and Crips respectively.

-In Red Dead Redemption 2 Dutch uses the alias "Aiden O'Mailey" who of course we kill in GTA IV for Derrick in the mission "Tunnel Of Death".

-Tommy was parodied in Driv3r with the collectable character "Timmy Vermicelli" where you had to kill 10 and they all had floaties poking fun at the fact Tommy couldn't swim in Vice City.

-If you look closely at the monitors in Tommy's mansion office they're all scenes from inside the mansion in Scarface.

-Despite an AK47 can be seen hanging on the wall in Vice City's Ammunation the game doesn't feature one as a weapon.

-There was supposed to be another heist in GTA V called the "Sharmoota Job" which we would've went to the mansion owned by Madrazo to steal his prized horse and kidnap his wife, but this was cut in development.

-Niko is constantly referenced in GTA V from his LifeInvader page, Lester mentioning an "Eastern European guy making moves in Liberty City" to Packie talking about him in his recollection of the events of Three Leaf Clover on the way to the Paleto Bay bank score.

- "Sharmoota" means "whore" in Arabic, which would refer to Madrazo's wife during that mission.

-If you just want to do races in GTA IV and not talk to Brucie put your phone on sleep, call him to do a race and after a second or so you'll be prompted to go to the race start.

-Niko, Johnny, Luis and Huang Lee all have "Grand Theft Auto" as a recorded crime on their LCPD database profile which might not seem like much when other characters do, but considering they're all protagonists it can't be coincidence.

-Speaking of the LCPD database depending on what happens throughout GTA IV's story regarding deaths of certain characters or whether they're presumed to be missing this will be updated on their profile.

-CTW features all of GTA IV's boroughs except Alderney.

-You help Kim Young Guk get into the country in "Baby Sitting", but at the request of Jon Gravelli a little later on you also kill him in "Dining Out:".

- The mission name "I need your boots, your clothes and your motorcycle" is a reference to what the Terminator says in Terminator 2.

-"Three Leaf Clover" is a foreshadow of what happens in the mission. 4 leaf clovers are considered lucky by the Irish. 4 men participate in the heist, but 1 of them dies and 3 escape due to the botch hence the name "Three Leaf Clover".

- GTA IV and TLAD are the only games that have a middle term between a sucessfully passed mission, and a failed one. As a example, in Have a Heart, if you destory Elizabeta car, instead of bringing them to the doctor, you still pass the mission, but you will not recive a award if you do it correctly.
by the way, it would be cool if there was a word that means the middle term of sucess and failure, so we would not be calling those "Mission Middle Term Passed"

Mike Toreno from GTA: SA was voiced by James Woods.

The Commission in GTA IV is based on the real life Commission of Italian-American Mafia families.

The Pegorino crime family is based on the real life DeCalvcante family of New Jersey.

Michael from GTA V could possibly be based on two uncles who I have IRL, even though they’re actually just marriage relatives. No kidding. They both have short tempers and are married to my mom’s older sisters (my aunts), yet they’re both actually really nice to me. However, some people in my family kinda view them as d*cks. I bet both of them also probably WOULD be a little more like Michael if they had the extra moola.

Sorry for the double post but I forgot to mention this...

There was a real person named Jim Fitzgerald. However, he was a NASCAR driver instead of a biker. He lived from December 1, 1921-November 8, 1987. He also was from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Who knows? Perhaps Jim Fitzgerald from GTA IV/EFLC was loosely based on him!

-As you progress though the story, the Ocean Beach Hotel in Vice City will be filled with items related to missions you've completed.

OceanViewHotel-GTAVC-Boomshine

When you complete Boomshine Saigon.

OceanViewHotel-GTAVC-posters

When you complete G-Spotlight.

OceanViewHotel-GTAVC-coffetable

When you complete The Job.

OceanViewHotel-GTAVC-robberytakings

When you complete Hit The Courier, so on so forth.

-This might be just a coincidence than a fact, but anyway during the mission "I'll Take Her" in GTA IV when Niko drives the pink Feltzer back to the safehouse with Gracie a guy called Steve takes the car. Stevie is the name of the contact Brucie gives Niko to steal vehicles for him. However it's probably just a coincidence since Stevie's a very common name, but it's something I've always wondered that might have a connection.

-Likewise in the same mission I can't believe it's taken me a decade to notice this, but behind Gerry when you're talking to him in prison there's a roster board for prison staff full of dirty, sexualised names, but I had another look and it says "Liberty City Correctional Facility". I'm ashamed being such a big GTA IV fan it's taken me over a decade to notice this small mistake despite playing this mission countless times lol. It should be Alderney State Correctional Facility.

-From the the air or even looking at the in game map Middle Park looks like an alien/fetus.

-Despite being an entirely new city from its 3D era counterpart GTA IV's Liberty City shares the airport name of Francis International with GTA III.

-Ray Boccino looks way older than the age he's given on the LCPD database of 32 (a year younger than I am now). I'm not sure why this is. He looks more like in his late 40s/early 50s.

-You can take friends back to PBX's loft to play pool.

The whole Alderney separation thing gets on my nerves due to how poorly it was done. They didn't have time to finish it properly, they could've "fully" treated it as a part of Liberty City, just like Shoreside Vale in GTA III and LCS.

More examples of this are stated here.
