Post-Game Paramedic Mission Help

Recommended Posts

SorveteQuente

So, I'm doing a 100% run of GTA III since... what, last year? And I'm stuck in the Paramedic side mission.

A lot of sites recommend starting paramedic as soon as you end the first mission, but I didn't do that. It's a lot harder now, since a lot of gangs hate me, and the Ambulance health in III is trash. Do any of you have some tips of how can I do this mission with less trouble?

Describing how it would be in the three islands:

-Portland: 99% impossible. You will have to rush over the slopy streets fighting against irrealistic time bonus only to have your ambulance blown up by an italian mob or to be kicked of the vehicle by a triad or a diablo.

-Stauton Island: that's the best option imo. Flat terrain with pretty straight and wide streets and bypasses. The problems will be the cartel, specially in the nearby zones to the hospital where they spawn, and the yardies with pistols. The time bonus are decent but you eventually will need to avoid cartel territories so you may drive faster to get the hospital for the other side.

-Shoreside Vale: messy road mapping which leads to a lack of connection between the hospital/airport zone and the residential condos, meaning the alloted time is given by straight line distance and not roadtrip. This is bad because it's insane. Also you find the cartel and some hard to drive streets.

So I would pick SI and learn map, streets, boroughs to dodge the maximum, shortcuts... and then pick an ambulance to practice but without thrilling the mission, only driving.

You can stop the gangs from attacking you using mini commander for example.

You might need to resort to this method because every island will have a gang trying to use powerful weapons on you. It probably takes some practice to pull off, though.

I'll try and practice in Staunton Island again (My first tries were there too), and maybe rely on the glitch if things get too tough.

What I forgot to mention was that if the ghosting method by itself proves too tedious, you can still save the ghost ambulance in a garage to make it damageproof only. That way, gang attacks are the only hazard that hurts you, and taking no damage from crashing into things can prove crucial in the long run because the ambulance heals itself a slight bit between levels, potentially going above its normal maximum health and being able to absorb more bullets than usual.

Sorry, man, forgot to quote you. :/ I'll take a look at the link you sent, but I don't know if I want mods for this. Thanks.

Massive respect to anyone who can finish paramedic level 12 in Portland when all the gangs there express hostility to you.

Ok I got to level 11 and the Yardies exploded my Ambulance, I'm this close to relying on mods.
