Welcome to Build Up Your San Andreas Gang: Crimson Syndicate

Welcome to Build Up Your San Andreas Gang: Crimson Syndicate. Unlike the previous versions, the game now has a story; a end goal, if you will. The game is simple: create a gang and design missions about them. With the money your gang earns and the members it gains, you can seize the many opportunities that will be presented to you. Do you have what it takes to defeat the Crimson Syndicate and become the next dominant gang of San Andreas?
Have fun and enjoy the game
Pledge of Chaos and the BUYSAG Contributors

As I, Pledge of Chaos, am a big fan of the GTA games and of Design Your Own Mission, you can expect to see many updates. However these kind hearted fans also contribute to the game, the BUYSAG Contributors consist of:

- Pledge of Chaos (Founder)

-xghostx (basic idea of having a main enemy faction, idea of the special events)

Rules

1. Read all rules carefully before enlisting into a gang.

2. Test your work and make sure it works normally.

3. Don't post half finished missions or missions with half a plot; make sure it has a beginning, middle and end.

4. Bad behaviour: if you have consistent bad behaviour towards other players, your character and missions will go up in flames with you, and you receive permanent banning from the game as well. Also, no non-BUYSAG-related talk, you can discuss ideas, threads and plans for future BUYSAG stories.

5. No double posting; if you have something else to say, re-edit your post.

6. If a rater is involved in a gang war, he is not allowed to rate his opponent's missions.

7. Going off-topic one time will result in a warning. Going off-topic for a second time will result in a temp-ban (decided by the BUYSAG Contributor). Going off-topic for a third time will result in a permanent ban.

8. No game mods allowed.

9. If your mission hasn't been rated within a week, you will receive full money and members gain.

10. A penalty of $5 will be deducted from your payout for each infractions committed.

11. Your mission will be reviewed using five different criteria: writing, presentation, variety, length, difficulty. Each are worth from $0 to $20.

12. You cannot use police skins, army skins, FBI skins, SWAT skins for your faction.

Guidelines

1. To receive your invitation from the Crimson Syndicate, you must provide the following: the name of your faction, the type of your faction, the backstory of your faction and the main character(s), the main color of the faction for map purposes, three locations you would like to start at, etc.

2. The faction type can be any: gang, mafia, cartel, law enforcement agency, private military contractor, etc.

3. After review, your faction will be given the following: a starting location, a territory on the starting location's location, money and members, weapons and vehicles. The faction will also begin at level 0.

4. Starting equipment will be based on the backstory of the faction. The faction cannot be already existing in real life nor can it be one of the game's original gangs.

5. As you spend more time in San Andreas, you will notice opportunities come and go quite often. These opportunities can under different forms; special events, drug deals, weapon deals, transportation deals, gang wars, etc. Note that there are new restrictions and requirements for such opportunities.

6. Buying a vehicle or a weapon doesn't mean your whole gang has it. Buying it once will only give you one. If you want another one, buy a second one. If you want your ten members to have a M4, then you must buy it ten times. The same for vehicles: if you want your ten members to have their own Sanchez, buy one ten times.

7. The starting time will be January 1, 1995. The time will begin when the first mission is designed. This is to make sure there is no incoherence if stories crossover.

8. Every six hours in real life is equal to a day in game.

9. Your first mission has to be an introduction to your faction and its new life in San Andreas.

10. You are not allowed to kill main characters from another player's faction, except if you have authorization from the player.

11. The main goal is to defeat the Crimson Syndicate. To do so, you will need to work your way up in the faction hierarchy and take out their operations before taking on the main guys in charge of the group.

12. Factions that are not criminal groups will have non-criminal alternatives to criminal activities.

Specialty Members

Due to the influence of the Crimson Syndicate in San Andreas, few are those who would dare rise up to them. Luckily, those few are of the old-school mentality; they preferred it the way it was before the main enemy faction rose to power.

They are few in number but can be a great asset to any organisation stepping up against the Crimson Syndicate. These people vary skills (as listed by their levels below) and there are only two ways improve their skills or get better ones: pay a small fee (according to their level) to improve their skills or kill your current specialty member and recruit another one. Note: killing a specialty member is permanent.

If you so wish to pay to upgrade fee, you will have to pay $10 000 to increase them from level 0 to level 1, $20 000 (level 2), $30 000 (level 3), $40 000 (level 4), $50 000 (level 5) and $60 000 (level 6). Note: you can only increase them level by level. Also keep in mind their levels restrict them on what they can do; a level 1 drug dealer will not be able to access the same deals as a level 5 drug dealer.

You can only have one specialty member of a same category but you can have one from each kind. Once they are recruited or killed, they are unavailable. Their level represent the level your faction has to be.

If you wish to recruit a specialty member, you need to call it beforehand. Then you will have two days (in real life) to complete what has to be done. If you fail to comply, he will be available again for the other factions to recruit him/her. Note that you can only claim one to recruit at a time.

Hopefully this will offer more varied gameplay between the many different factions and, who knows, maybe some will specialize in one aspect while another will specialize into another aspect? Also it will perhaps offer the opportunity to maybe mess with other players?

Note: you are not allowed to show athletes in-game.

Gang Levels

Gang levels are what makes your gang better than another one. It's also what makes yours more powerful than another one. Some could also think of it as a threat level. There is a total of seven possible levels. Level 0 (new); level 1 (official); level 2 (official); level 3 (official); level 4 (official); level 5 (elite); level 6 (main enemy faction). The rewards when you level up your gang are permanent, apart the members awards.

As you progress through the hierarchy, the Crimson Syndicate will give you physical gifts as a show of respect. They may be your enemy but they can still show respect when respect is deserved.

Note: requirements reset when you level up.

Defeat Rhys Robinson and the Crimson Syndicate

King of San Andreas

--

Gang Wars

Gang Wars are another way to earn extra rewards. You can have a gang war against other human factions or against non-player factions such as the Crimson Syndicate or other secondary enemy factions as part of special events.

The general terms of a gang war against a human faction:

-Both factions must consent

-Level 0 factions cannot participate

-All other levels are allowed to fight against one another

-One versus one

-Three missions long (beginning, middle, ending)

-Seven days (in real life) wait before a new gang war can be started

-One gang war at a time

-At the end of the gang war, both factions must agree to a peace treaty within seven days (in game)

-If both parties cannot agree on such treaty, the Crimson Syndicate will intervene

-Loss of members will be based on the enemy faction's total earnings divided by ten

-Giving up results in an instant loss

The general terms of a gang war against a non-player faction:

-Can only be started as part of a special event

-Can be against the Crimson Syndicate or any other secondary enemy faction

-Six missions long (beginning, in-between, middle, in-between, ending)

-Fourteen days (in real life) wait before a new gang war can be started (except for limited time special events)

-One gang war at a time (except for limited time special events)

-Rewards for a winner and consequences for the looser will be dictated by the special event

-The non-player faction will be assigned six numbers by a random number generator (representing its payouts)

-If the player beats the sum of these six numbers, the player wins. Else, the player loses.

-Loss of members will be based on the enemy faction's total earnings divided by ten

-Giving up results in an instant loss

Note: a gang war against another player and a gang war against a non-player can be active at the same time

Secondary Enemy Factions

Small or medium sized non-player gangs that may appear from time to time in San Andreas seeking opportunities. They do not pose much of a threat as the Crimson Syndicate does but should still be taken care of.

Their presence in San Andreas is temporary and part of special events. Be careful though; if left unchecked there is a very small chance they grow powerful.

Previous Original Gangs

They have been exterminated by the Crimson Syndicate. Some of their legacy may still be left behind to be scavenged.

Specialty Members

They specialize in different aspects of keeping a faction strong: dealing drugs, dealing transportation, dealing weapons, negotiation, scavenging, analyzing gambling opportunities and even being athletes.

Keep in mind they will not just join because you asked them.

Special Events

Special events are special opportunities you can take advantage of in San Andreas. Some opportunities are more common than others (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly) and can either be permanent or time-limited.

These special opportunities will offer special rewards (some of which would be unattainable without proper members or at all) but will often pit you against other (player) factions, secondary enemy factions, the Crimson Syndicate or others.

Ally/Enemy

The Ally/Enemy system no longer exists, due to the fact that the main goal is to take down the Crimson Syndicate and become the main faction in San Andreas.

Nothing stops players from agreeing to non-aggression pacts.

Members

Members are the people from your gang you can use in your mission. After each mission you design, your gang will grow and your members' number will grow too. The number of members you will gain after each mission will dedend of your rate. $0 will give you zero members. $10 will give you one member. $20 will give you two members. $30 will give you three members. $40 will give you four members. $50 will give you five members. $60 will give you six members. $70 will give you seven members. $80 will give you eight members. $90 will give you nine members. $100 will give you ten members.

The only ways for you to loose members are: gang wars and some special events.

Control

There are five areas of control that make the Crimson Syndicate so powerful:

-Transportation: control over the importation, exportation, etc. of ways of transportation.

-Weapons: control over weapons trafficking and what guns do and do not reach Ammu-Nation

-Drugs: control over the trafficking and production of drugs and their presence on the market

-Influence: control over the politicians, law makers and law enforcement and the general opinion of the population

-Sports: control over the rules of a sport league and its teams

-Gambling: control over the casinos and other types of gambling

With the main enemy faction controlling everything, it makes it impossible to currently buy ways of transportation, drugs and even weapons. Plus, if they so wish it, they can use their influence with the population and others to make your life a living hell.

Operations

Operations are the bread and butter of the Crimson Syndicate; if someone were to do something about these, it would definitely weaken them.

Naturally, to attack an operation you will need the appropriate level and specialty member level.

Crimson Targets

They are very important members of the main enemy faction. Killing them may grant rewards, weaken them and demoralize the other members.

To go after one of them, you first need to start attacking an operation. After a while, the opportunity to take one of them down will present itself.

Territories

Territories represent areas your faction controls. Every fifty members, your faction will attempt to expand in an area around your area(s). All territories, except those which are property territories, can be fought for in gang wars.

Note: your starting property cannot be a in territory already owned.

Note: the territory map will be update once a month (in real life).

Scavenge Areas

Areas that could potentially have loot from the previous original gangs.

They will appear as special events. If more than one scavenger is attempting to loot the place, stuff may happen. Depending on the level of the location, multiple visits may be necessary.

Drug Dealers

They will find buyers and sellers for your drug ambitions.

A higher level drug dealer will have access to more deals and get better prices.

Weapon Dealers

They will find buyers and sellers for your armament ambitions.

A higher level weapon dealer will have access to more deals and get better prices.

Mechanics

They will find buyers and sellers for your import/export ambitions.

A higher level mechanic will have access to more deals, get better prices and also allow interesting upgrades on your vehicles.

Negotiators

They will use their contacts and their relations to help calm things down in case of need.

A higher level negotiator will be more competent at calming things down between you and others.

Scavengers

They will scavenge loot left behind by the previous original gangs.

A higher level scavenger will be able to loot more stuff and scavenge more efficiently.

Athletes

They will join sport teams and make legal money for themselves and you.

A higher level athlete will be more skilled and make a higher player salary.

Gambling Analysts

They will analyse gambling opportunities.

A higher level gambling analyst will have an easier time finding the best gambling opportunities to make quick money.

Properties

Properties are main areas your faction will operate from. As you gain more properties, you will have to appoint some of your members to be in charge. This allows you to branch out your stories. Bored of a character and your faction's activities at your first property? Switch to the second property!

Note: new properties are mainly acquired through special events.

San Andreas Hockey League

(January 1, 1995): a season of hockey for the newly established SAHL is about to begin.

The SAHL (San Andreas Hockey League) was a project from the Crimson Syndicate to dive in new business opportunities. While hockey is not well known in San Andreas, they still managed to get three teams in Los Santos (the Dust Devils, the Kings, the Slappers) so startup the league. Using their connections, they managed to get the city to construct and finance the arenas. The only thing the teams have to worry about are attracting fans, paying the players, and making profits. Teams make profits based on how many fans attend to the games and the ticket prices (season and playoffs). Then they have to pay their players who played the games (note: salaries only in the regular season. No playoffs salaries, as they are a reward for playing well and the price is the cup). The league itself generates revenue every game but in a different way: they will make 3% of profits off every game played. But they have to pay the referees and the broadcasters. Players and teams can make some extra cash if they win trophies.

The owners are the ones in charge of the teams: they set ticket prices. They also make a salary of 15% of the team's final value at the end of the season. To replace an owner, you must pay them 150% of the team's value at the time of the purchase and it can only be done during the off season.

The commissioner is in charge of setting the league rules and also is in charge of the disciplinary committee. That person also has a salary of 7% of each team's final value after the owners take their 15% share. To replace a commissioner, you must pay them 200% of all team values combined at the time of the purchase and it can only be done during the off season.

Bet opportunities will be given the days of the games. Keep in mind you need a gambling analyst though.

Rumors are that the end goal is to have it become a better and more popular league than the NACHL (North American Continental Hockey League), the best league in North America and in the world.

There will be three stages to this first season of hockey: the regular season, the qualifying playoffs, the playoffs.

-One game everyday (in game)

-Never two games in a row against the same opponent (except playoffs games)

-First team to ten wins or 30+ points will qualify for the finals

-Other two teams will play a ''best of 5'' series (3 wins / 5 games)

-One game every two days (in game)

-Winner of this series plays against the first team in the finals

-Best of 7 series (4 wins / 7 games)

-A game every two days (in game)

-Winner wins the cup

-14 days off-season before a new season starts (in game)

-Player will increase stats in the off-season (based on how well they played, etc.)

-All player stats begin at 36 (out of 99), thus making them 36OVR (overall)

-Players will age every January 1 (no matter when they were born - to keep it simple)

Alright, it appears I forgot to make the little summary post I wanted to do.

To join the game:

1- Post the name, type (gang, cartel, mafia, private military contractor, law enforcement agency, etc.) and backstory of your faction and main character(s). Also don't forget the color (for the tables and map puposes) and three potential locations you would like to start at (keep in mind you cannot have your property in a territory that is already owned by another faction. For more info, check the map in the posts above). NOTE: your faction cannot be an already existing one in real life (i.e. MS13, FBI, Blackwater, etc.). It also cannot be one of the original gangs from the game (i.e. Grove Street, Ballas, Triads, etc.) Keep in mind you cannot use the police, SWAT, FBI, army skins for your faction. If you have extra information you want to add, feel free to do so.

2- When your ''application'' is posted, I will review it and, if accepted, you will be given random starting equipment (weapons, vehicles), a random amount of money and members, and a starting property (from the three locations you provided). This will be based on the backstory of the faction and main character(s) you provided. Your starting equipment will also be appropriate to the type of faction you have, etc.

3- Your first mission has to be an introduction to your new life in San Andreas.

4- If you are the first to design a mission for the game, make sure your mission starts on January 1, 1995.

Here's a template for gang hierarchies. I'm probably not joining this, but I only want to show this because I came across it recently and it might come in handy in making gangs.

Looking at it, it's a classical mafia hierarchy.

Yeah, true. I was thinking it'd come in handy as a small reference for people who normally just make one gang boss and don't think of the rest of the hierarchy.

S.A.C.

I'd like to join. Here's my entry:

Name: the Resistance

Type: Gang

Backstory: the Resistance was formed after the elimination of the original LS gangs. It is comprised of former GSF and Azteca gangsters. The leader is Jules Abraham who was a former GSF member. The second-in-command is Jules' brother Troy who is also a former GSF member. The first lieutenant is Antwan Jackson who specializes in drugs and has been close friends with the Abraham brothers since childhood. He's also a former member of the GSF. The second lieutenant is Pablo Ramirez who specializes in guns and weapons in general, and is a former Azteca gangster and is mutual friends to the Abraham brothers thanks to Antwan. The third lieutenant is Marquise Bradshaw who is a former Seville Boulevard Grove gangster that witnessed his brother die at the hands of the Crimson Syndicate, and has been close friends with the Abraham brothers since childhood as well. He specializes in robbery. The fourth and final lieutenant is Diego Ramirez, a former Azteca gangster who became friends with the Abraham brothers via his cousin Pablo. The soldiers are: Sonny Sanchez, Pierce Smith, Vic Lopez, Marshall York, Miguel Rodriguez, Dre Washington, Ernesto Gonzalez, and Aaron Little. Associates include: Tony Banks, Ivan White, Luis Fernandez, Lance Sullivan, and Johnny Trejo. The gang color is cyan since that's what you get when you mix green and blue (GSF and Azteca colors).

The three potential locations I'd like to start at are either Grove Street, Vagos ganghouse, or Idlewood.

Your application has been accepted and the Crimson Syndicate has invited you to try to defeat them. Check the following link to see what your gang will start with: http://gtaforums.com/topic/909586-build-up-your-san-andreas-gang-crimson-syndicate/?p=1070241257

The map has also been updated with your starting territory. See this post for more information: http://gtaforums.com/topic/909586-build-up-your-san-andreas-gang-crimson-syndicate/?p=1070242396

Note: while you are allowed to have your members specializing in certain aspects of the criminal life (i.e. drug dealing), you still must recruit the specialty member (i.e. drug dealer) before you can start going down this route.

Special events to recruit specialty members will be made public once at least one player has published his/her introduction mission.

I also want, here's my gang:

Name: Chernobyl

Type: Gang

Backstory: This name was given after the Chernobyl accident in 1986. The Chernobyl gang is formed in Ukraine, Chernobyl. They own a base in Los Santos. Its leader is Yuri Nezirkov, and the co-leader is Yaroslav Hanama. The gang has is not that rich, but enough to at least fight other poor gangs. The gang has currently received five members in the later years. Yuri, the leader of the gang is a professional hitman. Sometimes he's drug dealing, but often he kills people.

I'd like to start maybe in East Los Santos.

VenomDYOM: $33 added to the Chernobyl gang bank account and 3 (3.3 - 0.3 = 3) members added to the usable Chernobyl members.

Difficulty: The four Ballas enemies are very easy to kill and the other gameplay segment requires you to walk across the street. - $1

Length: 3:29.50 - $3

Presentation: Arrival at the Los Santos International Airport and the taxi ride, Ballas vehicles parked in front of their gang house, GTA feeling when we seize the property from the Ballas after our little confrontation. Recruiting the two guys at the end felt a little bit too easy, especially since they are strangers and they just met. - $14

Variety: 8 actors, 3 ways of transportation, 2 objects - 13 different things - $6

Writing: It is understandable but it could use some improvement. - $9

Extra Note(s): Although the original gangs (that does include the Ballas) have been exterminated by the Crimson Syndicate, I guess I will accept their presence as long as they are not too many and not met too frequently.

VenomDYOM: $51 added to the Chernobyl gang bank account and 5 (5.1 - 0.1 = 5) members added to the usable Chernobyl members.

Difficulty: Simply killing the enemies would be simple and easy enough but the fact the wanted level system is active and that you must keep your gang members alive can make things very difficult. - $5

Length: 6:16.46 - $7

Presentation: GTA feeling to the presentation of the drug dealers, concept of eliminating the drug dealers before they start messing with your members seems good, the whole thing at the back of the hotel was good, liked how the enemies came from around the corner in the final shootout in the gang house. - $20

Variety: 8* actors, 4 ways of transportation, 5 objects, 4* weapons - 21* different things - $10

Writing: It is understandable but it could use some improvement. - $9

Extra Note(s): Since you designed this mission before I could review and rate the previous one, I will let it slide again one last time: the Ballas have been exterminated by the Crimson Syndicate. I can accept a few here and there who have survived but not that many.

BUYSAG: CS: On another note, the list of special events to unlock specialty members has been made public. Make sure to read the rules.

Alright, I think it's time to make another little summary post about specialty members.

-You can have one of every kind but not two of the same kind: you can have a drug dealer, weapon dealer, mechanic, negotiator, scavenger, athlete and gambling analyst all at the same time but you cannot have two (or more) drug dealers, mechanics, etc.

-If you wish to recruit a specialty member, you need to call if beforehand. Just post in the topic that you want to recruit him/her. You will then have two days (in real life) to design your mission. If you fail to do so, the specialty member will be available once again to all other players.

-To recruit a specialty member, you must take the following into consideration: the level, the description, the requirements and the rewards.

-The level of a specialty member is the level your faction has to be to be able to recruit him/her.

-The description is a little story of what needs to be done in your mission to be able to recruit him/her.

-The requirements are what you need have accomplished or have done before you can actually take a shot at recruiting him/her.

-The rewards are, obviously, the rewards you get for successfully recruiting him/her.

-NOTE: some requirements may lock you out of recruiting other specialty members; think carefully.

-NOTE: you cannot show athletes in game.

If anyone has questions regarding a requirement or anything else related to specialty members, feel free to ask.

I really want to participate in this but the whole article is too difficult to understand. I've never participated in BUYSAG before.

I've asked some seniors about the whole procedure and it will take some time for me to make a gang.

First you must create your gang:

-Name:

-Type:

-Color:

-Backstory (gang and main character(s):

-Three locations you would like to start at:

Second, when your application is accepted, you will receive the following:

-Starting location

-Gang territory

-Random amount of money

-Random amount of members

-Random weapons

-Random vehicles

Third, when all is said and done:

-You can start designing for your gang

-Keep in mind the first mission has to be an introduction

-Keep in mind the year is 1995

-Keep in mind the original gangs have been exterminated - you can show some of them here and there who may have survived but not too often and not too many

-If you are out of ideas, you can check the special events

-For more info on specialty members, read the post above yours.
