Will the JB 7OO ever make use of its weapons?

It's such a beauty to look at and even drive. But why does it pain R* to update its weapons? It's obviously based on a famous weaponized vehicle, as are the Ruiner 2OOO, the Vigilante and the Deluxo (which doesn't even feature weapons in the films!).

And yet here stands the JB 7OO, completely stripped of its weapons. It's not like it'd be overpowered. And it's spike drops would be a cool unique feature that no other vehicle has.

Is there a petition to make this a reality? And, I'm curious, does anyone else actually own this car just because of its James Bond reference or simply enjoy driving it?

Is your zero key broken or something?

I own it. I put on a suit whenever I use it. Its stashed in my facility as kind of a retired (decommissioned after all) weaponized vehicle of the bunch.

Of course it won't. Rockstar ain't very known for changing anything on old vehicles unless if it's a funny glitch or something harmless, at least as far as I know. It's highly doubtful that the JB700 will ever get its weapons back, unfortunately.

on one hand it's probably unlikely? but on the other hand it's all already coded and stuff, and they've slowly been adding previously singleplayer exclusive stuff to online, in one form or another. But on the other hand it's possible they've genuinely forgotten about it entirely, which would at least be very funny

also i HAVE to know: why did you write all the zeroes as Os???

Good luck with that. R* are the type of devs who will never listen to their fans, only the money.

In following recent trends, they probably would redesign the car to have the working weapons and charge 3 million for it.

Then the unarmed version would remain with the guns on fenders because they have to screw up somewhere, nothing has to be perfect with them.

Well then, here me Rockstar, take the guns off the fenders (even without working weapons) and I pledge to pay 1,250,000 for it. Ill even buy a shark card to do it

Considering some of the types of "fans" this game attracts, maybe that's a good thing.

They are listening to fans actually, the exact kind of fans you wouldn't want though.

I'd buy it if oil slick out the back was available, and radio locked on spy hunter theme song.

They will never do this, but yes it should have happened long ago. Would be fun to have a car with underwhelming guns and spike strips. Not to mention, by far the most important part, an ejector seat to troll your friends and random low-levels with.

I don't mind it not having guns actually, as long as they're not VISIBLY, physically there. It ruins the look if they don't work. The spikes would be nice, as no other vehicle has such a weapon. I don't get why it's so hard to do? Unless they simply forgot about the car.

Also, I love using O's instead of 0's as an aesthetic choice, lol. It makes numbers feel bigger with larger O's.

I doubt R* will ever do anything about JB700,whether it's taking off the fake guns or making them real.Other than giving some of them Benny's treatment,they usually don't do anything about old vehicles (I was hoping they would give Hexer, Sovereign and Innovation at least some basic customization in Bikers DLC,seeing how much customization options the new bikes had,but it didn't happen).

I don't have that car,simply because those fake guns look stupid,if there was an option to remove them,I'd definitely buy it,it would be a beautiful classic car.

^ yeah, I'm very tempted to buy it as it's a gorgeous car otherwise. But at least a simple option to remove the visible guns would be perfect. It doesn't need to be a weaponized vehicle. R* is so frustrating like this sometimes. Ugh.

I own it. I put on a suit whenever I use it. Its stashed in my facility as kind of a retired (decommissioned after all) weaponized vehicle of the bunch.

Huh, I love your way of roleplaying with it. I might just buy it to also keep it stashed in my facility as an ex-field car for impossible missions. Heh.

Point me to a time when R* devs have ever ever revisited a car that was already put into the game.

I don't understand the sheer aversion to editing older assets as features get added...

Once it's in the game, it forfeits ever being patched, updated, or touched ever again.

Which is great, when you see cars get released with blatant bugs, glitches, and f*ck-ups because you know they'll never be fixed.

Well they fixed the Viseris... lol.

It was my favorite vehicle by the time they patched it. I almost havent touched it since. I dont get why R* likes to ruin the fun stuff. It was so fun to drive, very powerful and hard to control in high speeds... now it struggles. It was far from being a class-breaker like say the Pariah...

But the case for the JB is different; I recall reading here in the forums someone saying that the weapons work only in missions because they work through scripts that are tied to the mission and not to the car. For instance, there is no version of the Deluxo which doesnt have the hover mode. In the heist however, it doesnt have it because of scripts preventing it. Now with the JB its the opposite. The scripts that make the guns work are only loaded in that SP mission. Which means that if we expect to see a weaponized Jb700, R* would have to reprogram it, or create a brand new version. I guess it would be too much work for an old vehicle that wouldnt appeal to squeakers, hence why they probably wont do it. Which sucks if you ask me.

-They updated the engine model of a hot rod I can't remember right now, to match the engine of the Franken Stange.

-They fixed the assimetrical front grille of the Zentorno;

-They fixed the texture bug in one of the headlights of the Serrano;

-They fixed the issue with the Elegy Retro having only one exterior door handle;

-They fixed a bug with the headlights and tailights radiants of the Comet Retro, and geometry issues with the liveries;

When it comes to bug fixes, they can do it fine, the problem here is that they would need to program the whole script of that SP mission to make the guns of the JB700 usable in Online, they can do it but I believe that would take a lot of time.

If we are talking about removing the guns on it, they would have to update the model of it and I'm not sure if they would do that either.

I thought it was adding the engine shake to the Stange? Forgot which update. Edited by Verstappen

Players just don't care for the most part, that's why. Not worth devoting development hours to if it's not going to sell shark cards. New content is far more exciting to Joe Casual than a small tweak to a 5 year old car. That's why they only ever do one of two things with old cars: 1. add them for sale on San Andreas Super Autos (takes like 5 minutes for them to do this), or 2. release a completely remade version of it with mods and weapons that they can then hype up as if it was a new car.

So we won't get a re-comissioned JB700, but there's a remote chance we would get a "JB700 2018" or whatever, that looks rather different and probably has homing missiles and no spike strips. Because Rockstar.

If I had to choose, I'd MUCH rather the guns be physically removed from the car and I'd buy it in an instant. It's a gorgeous car without them.

I get that it must be painstaking to go into the coding to make the guns and spikes work for online, but why not just give us the option, then, to physically remove the non-working guns at LS Customs? Can't be that hard especially if they're just for looks!

Just look at this topic. People aren't buying the car because it looks stupid with guns that don't work. But be honest, how many of us would own it if it wasn't trying to be a weaponized vehicle? I know I would. And there you go, R*, more buyers.

Rockstar will put it in next dlc with a massive price tag and call it jb700 custom with nerfed weaponry.

You fan boys will still buy the hunk of (s)hit

I'm waiting for a moderator to tell me to stop being so mean,its hurting advertising revenue.

And watch it finally have the option to remove the weapons. Hell, it'd probably be without weapons stock right off the bat, and adding them is half a mil

The irony is that the weaponized JB 700 would probably be less gamebreaking than some of the weaponized cars we've got now.
