Can't say I enjoy the art direction so far. Not digging this suicide squad/mad max mashup. I like my post apocalypse dark and gritty. I even purchased(and played) it for the Xbox One when it went backward compatible this past year. Didn't play the first one (is this the one that switches to third for vehicles?) I guess everyone compared it to Borderlands which already had all the popular COOP support so maybe they skipped it, but it was a great game with a great atmosphere. My only complaint with the original game is that it became pretty repetitive after the halfway point... so if RAGE 2 is dumping in more robust gameplay features on top of the already awesome world it should be a big win Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

EmSixTeen Posted May 15, 2018 Share Posted May 15, 2018 Will never understand why talented modders never took to the task of an FPS multiplayer mod using the mod tools that took an eon to get released. Apparently they were complicated though, and did take forever to ever get released. I bought the first game on disc and never finished it, it had massive texture pop-in issues and just wasn't actually all that interesting as a game. Hope this is an improvement. I'm guessing that they have other big things to show and they and they only have so much time in the conference. RAGE 2 getting revealed this early could be good signs for something from Bethesda Game Studios taking up a good 20-30 mins like Fallout 4 did in 2015. It looks gorgeous - very current gen - but it also looks a bit too hectic and - what's the word? - silly for my tastes. There's also hints vehicles will be in 3rd person. I feel the style of this game is a bit, aimed at younger audiences? I showed my 16 year old brother the trailers, and he loved them. I doubt I will be buying this on day one, unless they reveal something gamebreaking at E3, otherwise maybe one day in the future. You’re right, everyone does have their own taste, I mean just because you’re a bit older, doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy these games, but to me these trailers remind me a lot of the Borderlands series (keep in mind, I haven’t played the previous Rage game) which I did actually, surprisingly enjoy, but only played because my younger brother had bought it ages ago.
