At night CJ is much lighter as compared to other models, I think you also need to edit the col Brightness.

And I agree with kkjj, if you're able to make the characters less bright at night it'd really top this off!

I don't think that frozen Shadows is a good idea(I'm not opposing) but if you are going to do it then please do two versions with and without Shadows.

Little problem about frozen shadows is that, they are... frozen. San Andreas has dynamic day and night cycle with moving sun and moon on skydome. So, there gonna be some weird thiing happening like sun facing east and casting shadows on north (or something like that, you get the point).

 

But, in the other hand - shadows gives much DEEP to image. Default San Andreas (XD) is a bit plan and flat because of lack good shading. (exept for one place in desert)

 

BUT, when doing shadows - you have to remember that shadows should getting softer when they are casted by something that is far away.

You have given us an example of expressways shadows. They are too sharp, consider making them softer.

 

Otherwise - good job, looking foward to this. This may be a "must have after fresh instalation" mod.

yes lol,I have put real shadows in downtown and release it,nobody use that mod,reasons:

-shadows glitching from distances,

-fps drop,lags

-rest of rockstar bugged shadows make problems,and they follow you around

-need plugin

 

this project gives you more than shadows,this gives you:

-better LOD models, ( no transformation visible while lod is loading )

-better Night vertex light ( this time paitning surface and mimic every lampost light on ground )

-better Day vertex light ( shadows )

-fixing UV Map mistakes on any surface where they are

-no fps drop

 

so about sharp shadow corners,I can solve that but that is required more drawing lines on surface and size off dff will be larger

so if los santos is 500mb it will be like 1 GB

 

SA prelight day and night is horrible,no matter how this end's up it will be better than default

If I can go back in time,This will be thing I would do,I will not do whole Map,

and Flame's HRT project,I am really glad this can go together with him,that guy texturing for years SA Map

sorry buddy,can not make big change on one's guy wish,it's not only that

when you drive more lines on surface on already vertex painted models,you lose all that you have painted

you have to change model to poly and you lose vertex addon,and I have pretty much done so far so all this 4 days of work will be

oblivion,plan A is to release Beta and see what people think before I continue

Hmmh, let's just see where this goes, at the very least it looks more interesting then stock version. Also the dynamic shadows won't be needed with Renderhooks cascade shadows.

Should do it using a proper sky light scene, if setup properly it'll give you an extremely good looking end result and it won't take you as long (Well rendering will take hours but if you have it setup right it'll give a perfect inital render then you just import it in game and you're set.

RenderHook did amazing job,I also tested it (f12 for settings,and made it work) yeah its better 100x than MY MOD

 

this take large amount of time so chances are I will abandon it
