Is the weekly giveaway a sign of GTAO's decline?

I'm not complaining about the free cash but it seems like Rockstar is trying to boost daily log ins and interactions by using the weekly giveaway as an incentive.

I haven't logged in over a month mostly because the game got boring for me. Seeing the weekly giveaway made me want to log in though just to claim the cash.

Nice marketing technique but its also a sign something big is due next

That's what they say before each DLC, even last time we got double cash on bunker sales and then the free tax bonusses, only to be rewarded with 3 extra months of dripfeed.

With Rockstar, nothing is a sign of what is coming next, there is no logic...whatsoever...

Gta will always have a strong following while some may leave they always return.

When the dlc is announced or released the next dlc thread gets a few more users lol, a clear example these players ain't passing through just to say hello :D

Just a one way to raise daily online peak.

It's all part of driving shark sales. They give away free money, then you don't feel like they are taking the piss when you buy a shark. In reality, they just pump up the prices of the new vehicles to get the free money back. Just as if you buy chocolate and it's half price, the retailer is selling more of them which means he actually makes more money.

And why not, right?

I mean, they just released the GTAV Premium Edition, a complete repackage of their flagship product, just 2-3 weeks ago.

Of course they're going to drive incentives to any new adopters of the game, and hopefully stimulate interest in veteran players, as well.

And as Harbujahn the Great mentioned, you can almost smell something cooking in the Rockstar DLC kitchen... hot, savory, and nearly ready to be served.

Mmm.

Sentinel Driver

Not one of these "GTA is dying" type of threads again

Didn't we think the same thing when gta had the "tax rebate" not 3 months ago? Not to mention the fact that the game is still topping sales charts. I don't know why they're being so generous, but its not because its dying.

Happy Hunter

If anything I think it just means next update will be expensive.

It will die at some point, but that happens when it happens. No point thinking about that really. Just get what you can out of it if you still enjoy, or wait it out if you don't.

I would guess it's still around for a while anyway, as long as it makes money. Might slow a little with Red Dead, hard to say.
