Bill Williamson's odd Freemason hat pin

If you look closely on the pin holding Bill Williamson's hat, you can see the G logo from the freemasons, I noticed this a long time ago when I played with him on multiplayer, it really weirded me out considering the stories one hears about the masons...

 

Could this be one of those illuminati things like in GTA V where it's hidden but not actually hidden, is Bill a Freemason? is R* showing allegiance to them? Wtf is up with it
