So there's this guy who's been in my crew for 2-3 months now. He started playing regularly only since he joined the crew. He got the game in December or January I believe. He's almost rank 200.

One of my characters is rank 240 almost. The other, nearly 300. Former character has 68Days of playtime. Other one has approximately 48 more hours.

I've been playing since the PS3 release. Now on PC. And looking back, it took a long time getting to that rank. This dude has approximately 800 hours of play-time. All he does is sit in a session by himself doing Headhunter and solo bunker work... It's becoming really redundant. The reason i'm mentioning this is because from my observation, I believe he has that stereotypical addictive gamer's personality. I mean, I myself have invested a sh*t-LOAD of time into this game across two characters. 2000+ hours. But this is just taking it too far.

I'm sort of roasting him on his play style, and letting him know it's a little ridiculous. He has his own digital space to make money by himself, spend it by himself, and use those said expenditures by himself. All by his lonesome... It's, errr... Kind of sad. He talks to everyone in the crew. But just the fact that he's shot up in rank so much proportionate to how much time he's invested into the game, it's really worrying. This kind of redundance is just mind-blowing.

Thoughts? Just wanted to share. I suppose I also wanted to vent. I mean, holy sh*t... The redundance is EPIC with this dude.

I don't remember exactly how fast you rank up at that rank, but it goes up much faster when you're lower. Like I said though, I'm not sure how fast it would at that rank - its been ages since I was anywhere near that.

Meh, my vibe is just let people do what they want to do. If you don't like him, why have anything to do with him?

First thought is that those numbers on both you and him seems strange..

Level 200 with 800 hours played and only doing headhunter? Maybe it's still to early in the morning for me and I'm not seeing straight yet..?

everyone has their own playing style, some prefer public lobbies, other just play solo, i see nothing wrong.

he enjoys the game, his way, i see no reason to "roast" or criticize.

Why so judgmental?

Is he directly affecting you in any way? If not, leave him be. As long as he's not overly obnoxious or annoying about it, there's no need to call him a tool for it.

Oh, of course. But he's really hesitant to do anything with others. He has a custom firewall set up to block his ports so no one can join his sessions. Including crew members and friends. He sits in his bunker accumulating stock, does bunker sales. Avoids any combat between players. And it's affecting his ability to perform Air Freight which he bought a hangar for. He isn't getting better at the game playing this way. No one can. I'm beginning to wonder if this was a console-only game, no PC operating system or firewall settings intervention, would he play the game altogether?

I play two characters. He has almost 900 hours into the game. I have 68days on my rank 239. He is approaxing rank 200. 68 days is 1632 hours. He has About 900 hours. That's.... kinda crazy when you put it into perspective.

Judgemental. That word is the antithesis to itself...

You rationalize something? Soooo... judgemental? I never got that. Pretty funny, tho. Seriously, so you say someone's a bad person - just as an example - for being a thief. That's how you rationalize them being a bad person. You're judgemental. f*cking mint.

But yeah, to clarify. This guy, other than SPEAKING with other crew members. Doesn't do much. Other than some PvE here and there. And not to mention, the REDUNDANCE meter is ticking in the red with this dude. Like, dangerously so. I've had a couple people ask him how he hasn't gotten bored yet.

Get your crew together and invite your crew member to your apartment, once he walks through there door you start the intervention.

I don't think there's anything wrong with that playstyle in of itself. It's very boring to me (I like to kill in free mode), and I'll usually only be in empty sessions if I need to get some grinding done for an update or something - but how I play is boring to others.

Though perhaps if you're in a crew or whatever, maybe it's a little pointless being in said crew.

Still, if you don't get along and the way he plays is an obstacle, maybe it's time to just cut ties, instead of talking about him like this on here?

I don't know. Nearly everyone seems to have a problem with high rank players.

I have 200+ days played, coming up to rank 1100. "Oh you play too much!" "Modded account trash!" "Why aren't you doing this?" "Why aren't you doing that?" People just need to leave each other be I think.

Has anyone in that crew played with him as a group so he could see that can be fun too?

To be honest, if I had people judging me I'd probably play by myself alone too.

He roughly has 1 month of play time in the 5 months he's played the game. I'm sure lots of people here did that when the game first launched. He wants to be efficient with his time, its a numbers game. As you can see, it's an effective way to play.

To be honest, this post comes off as being jealous.

Oh, it's my crew. Other crew members interact with him, too. It's just getting stagnant, is all. He'll sort of test the waters with things outside his comfort zone. But not very often. He keeps asking me if he's gotten better at things.

Yeah, just sort of very slow progress and him kind of being shy about it. I guess i'll try getting him up to speed with other things in a group, not just me and him one-on-one. And WHA? No. he isn't being roasted all the time. Sometimes we do that to each other, jokingly, though. But nothing like that. We don't point and laugh at him until he huddle up into a corner.

Me? . I run a crew where everyone is at least 20+ years old. Older, even, i think. And if i had to make an encapsulated statement that summarizes it. I sometimes feel like an elementary school teacher.

How about just let him play whatever way he likes and for as much as he wants.

And if that doesn't fit your crew ethics or whatever, kick him out and move on.

It's just a game bro, no need to go all parental on him/her.

If you don't like how the guy plays, then just kick him from the crew, if it bothers you that much. No need to make a poll on the forums about it, really, a little over the top. If it was me in his situation (obviously he's getting to grips with the game and want's to rank up quickly) then I'd leave your crew, he's not getting much support now is he? Finger pointing on the forums to belittle his play style. Someone please lock this dumb thread.

You need to search within yourself for the real question, do you love him? He's on your mind, you dream about him. If only he gave up on wasting his life in a solo lobby, you could buy some land in the country to breed beagles together.

Well, I find that not partaking to PvP to defend the crew is a problem, however I completly approve the fact he don't want to drive your postvans. Sorry, but I tend to do like him/her in crew sessions(mostly playing Headhunter and Airfreight VIP jobs, sometimes crates).

I'm close to 150 days in GTA, really I'm bored driving sh*tty vehicles, I just want to fly my choppers to earn cash and RP.

Your whole issue with this guy is that he's not engaged enough in your crew and he prefers doing things in a solo manner, which is normal and fair, it's a playstyle and different playstyles are what makes GTA so special.

No need for all of this, just kick him from your crew if he is not engaged.

I don't see anything anti-social in his playstyle.

He apparently prefers to do his bussines stuff alone and does not like gta onlines broken PvP.

I see nothing wrong with that. He basicly plays singleplayer the way he can't play regular singleplayer.

I did basicly the same (minus the firewall) for half of 2017 to get cash with I/E.

I don't know how you guys came to the conclusion that this is normal. It really is not.

Just how the f*ck can you stand doing the same routine for months without ever getting bored? It is either an addiction, or a mental illness, and neither of these things are normal.

Don't mind him. This is what 70% of players are doing.

It is an online game. Online=/=multiplayer.

You can totally play an online game alone. One example being the game The Crew made by Ubisoft.

Oh and when was the last time gta 5 singleplayer got updated?

"Oh no, someone is enjoying a game a diffrent way then I do. He is clearly not normal!"

Doing the same thing over and over again just to see some arbitrary numbers grow bigger is not normal, and that's the end of it.

Online games were made for a socialized gaming experience. Your argument makes as much sense as creating a Facebook account with no intention to add friends or families, even though that is the entire purpose of the service.

And even if GTA V doesn't get updated anymore, it is still a playable game by itself, and there many other great singleplayer games out there that this crew member can spend his time on instead of slaving himself to a mediocre multiplayer game.

He is playing it like a damn job. Headhunter, bunker sale, headhunter, bunker sale, headhunter, bunker sale. Rinse and repeat.

I honestly cannot fathom how anyone can find this mundane routine entertaining for five months, let alone defend it and try to normalize it.

Be greatful you have a crew member/friend who you know that will have a nice quiet session you can join if you need some peace, some people have disabilitys that restrict their real life and gta is their happyness. I myself am limited too what i can do in real life atm thanks to a few broken ribs, but il keep myself occupied very easy pissing about with gta :)
