Tell me why I should buy yacht?

The question is above, why I should buy yacht this week as they are in discount. Also please tell me what model I should buy, pros and conns.

Or is it complete waste of money? 30mil at the moment in hand so throwing few away ain't an issue, Piracy Prevention pays quite well after all right?

Cause it's money to burn.

Plus u can troll ppl who get on ur yatch with prox bombs like I used to do.

Piracy prevention pays 30k for 10 mins of defending your upper deck on your yacht (basically 30k to afk in a friendly lobby). Not bad at all. If you have the money to spend, it's a nice luxury to have imo. Nice to spawn on aswell

Edit: I have the Aquarius just because I feel the helis and boats it spawn with are better.

If you have the money and want one get one. I don't regret buying mine at full price. I'd get a second on discount if I could.

Buy one because why not. Yeah its essentially a floating house, but isn't that what real yachts are anyway? And PP pays 30k, so its worth it for that alone, and you get a free Swift. (catch - it can't be turned into a PV Swift) From what I'm aware, the general consensus is the 2nd one is the best buy, which is the one I bought. But really, its just another thing for the really rich to buy if they want one.

They're essentially useless so don't buy one if you don't want to waste whatever amount of money you would spend on it. If you have excess money to burn though, may as well; it's a cool status symbol, mildly fun to hang out on once in a while, and you can host Piracy Prevention. (You also can sit on your yacht with a bounty and yacht defenses on, trying to bait people into getting blown up, but few will fall for it anymore.)

If you do buy one, get the 2nd tier one. It has a better layout than the high-end yacht (easier front-to-back access) and nearly as good of amenities. I actually bought the most expensive yacht originally and traded it in for the 2nd level one later, that's how strongly I feel that the layout is superior.

Same yacht as you. Had the most expensive then upgraded to the 2nd most expensive. It's easier to navigate and comes with a Swift Deluxe matching the yacht, not in a cheese colour.

Interesting. I may have to do the same. Do upgrades transfer over if I switch yachts?

The only reason I have a yacht is because it was available to buy. Dont think Ive been to mine since a couple weeks after I bought it.

I don't think so. It's been a while since I swapped mine, but I am pretty sure that all of these properties (which the yacht is closer to than a vehicle) lose the upgrades when you trade in. So you have to rebuy them. Same with the facility, bunker, etc. If you're thinking of doing this, I suggest finding one in a session (maybe a friend's) to check out. I think you can go straight from back to front on all levels of that yacht, whereas the more expensive one forces you to the second level (unless you want to do some parkour magic); the lowest and highest levels are closed off in the middle of the ship, which is annoying.

Also, there is a canvas sheet over the hole where people have to capture during Piracy Prevention. There's a small gap that lets them shoot into the room at certain angles, but if they want to capture it, they have to come in one of the doorways to the room, not from the top.

Useless if you have an office or hangar (because the only real practical benefit of it is 'a safehouse with a helicopter parked right outside at all times' - unless you get the Orion...).

If you like doing stuff in Snapmatic or the R* Editor, you can probably make good use of the interiors, and they're quite good hangout spots if you do a lot of stuff with friends and crew (although in that case, if someone you know already has one, you don't need one yourself!). And the air defence gimmick is good for a giggle - just be aware that it'll also target friendly NPCs like Merryweather pickups and ammo drops...

Main thing is they're ridiculously overpriced for what they are - even if you have the money, it doesn't change the fact that they're just awful value. :/

If you can afford it, there is no question here. There was a time the yacht could pay a regular 30k to open any session. Start, change date, go grab your ammo etc. (PS4) I liked to use it during those mundane tasks like filling ammo (whatever) etc. My yacht was finally giving back lol...... These days? Not so much. Still a worth while spawn point though just cause, who doesn't want an extra spawn point?

Beyond that, its a reach to say it has any use. Barring a future resurgence where the yacht suddenly becomes a pivotal property. Ignore it. Piracy Prevention 30 players can be blood curdling, largely ignored though.

If you like hot tubs then its a must have! :bbq:

BUY: if you've got lots of spare cash, as it's a great in-game prop, allows you to spawn on it, has a number of free vehicles, adds cool features to the interaction menu, enables Piracy Prevention in the VIP jobs, and feels good seeing it from the coast.

DO NOT BUY: if you're a bit short on cash, as there's nothing besides Piracy Prevention to make in-game money. You'll be disappointed.

Don't buy it unless you have a lot of vehicles and a lot of spare cash. For the money you can get a lot of fun toys to mess around with and unless you're packed there is little to no value in yacht. I got mine on the black Friday and I don't have any regrets, but at full value it's an absolute waste of cash.

A lot of people are citing Piracy Prevention as a good money maker. It actually is decent, but if you're in a friendly lobby, you can easily join other org to afk on their yacht and get money. Be advised, that you can't run PP in invite only/ solo public, while you can run Fortified. You can also teleport from the yacht, there is a guide in the Guide section.

You mentioned 'Fortifed' :)

Yesterday I had 14k of stock left to produce from the one instalment of supplies in my bunker, so I stepped outside, kicked off 'Fortified', collected my Armoured Boxville from just across the road, parked it behind the barn so that the helicopters couldn't hit it, waited ten minutes until completion, netted the 35k, went back into my bunker, and the stock had increased by 14k, enabling me to sell. You can do this in a quiet lobby just to fill in a few minutes while you make a cup of coffee or something. Fortified is ace.

Get an ARMOURED BOXVILLE !!!

Big Molio

One of the few things I managed to resist buying. It wouldn’t be so bad if it auto-cruised around the island or something, but it’s just a static prop at a sky high price.

Piracy Prevention and Fortified are pretty pointless considering how many times you'd need to do them to get your money back on those utterly useless purchases. Far more lucrative ways to make money. Oh yeah, and don't get a yacht.

I own the mid-level model, The Pisces per the suggestion of others on this forum. The reason being the canopy over the top deck prevents people from parachuting in during Piracy Prevention.

A little bonus nobody seems to have mentioned is that you health regenerates when SITTING in the hot tub. Not armor, just health.

What, full health? If so, I've not noticed that before - cool!

Couple of other benefits of the Pisces: you get a faster, better-handling chopper (Swift Deluxe), a faster, better-handling speedboat (Speeder), and having fewer Seasharks around the back means less clutter when trying to get on/off by sea.

You also get fewer awnings obscuring the view of/from the deck, and there aren't walls near the front that block the walkways around the sides like there are on the Aquarius - meaning you can get from front to back simply by walking around the sides, without needing to climb all over the yacht.

I find the Super Volito Carbon to be much easier to control, personally. It's why I switched to the biggest yacht, couldn't stand the Swift

If you have everything that matters to you already.. go for it, and get the piscis one, because it's better for piracy prevention, (unless you aren't into pvp vip missions, then get the one you like the most).

63 times to pay back for the Boxville. And the same for the Yacht for me since I got it on black Friday for 2 mils. If you're playing daily fortified is amazing. You can get a quick shower and enjoy 35k. There's a guy with a Yacht that kills the headhunter cool down but I forgot it.

You can have fun when random people board your yacht in free mode by remotely locking the vehicles so nobody can use them... which will kick out any random people trying to use the helicopter and often make them fall to their death.

Turning on yacht defenses as you fly over is also a fun way to annoy/kill random people following you in aircraft, such as jets.

Combining the above with other friends with yachts nearby can let you create a large anti-air exclusion zone
