Yeah, let's blame an small percentage of players who dupe instead of R* and their Band-Aid fixes that most of the time screw the rest of the playerbase.

 

I not onlt got a Coquette Classic marked by a dupe by accident by deleting its license plate on iFruit by accident, I also blacklisted said license plate and can't use it never again. It's stupid.

Most legit players don't know about these kind of things and they shouldn't have to know or worry about it either but since R* implanted this idiotic solution, legit players can get themselves in a kind of bad situation if they don't know about it.

I think a large percentage of the dupers know about this and therefore it does more harm than good since so many legit players is actually affected by this.

 

A friend of mine did a dupe glitch but didn't know about this so he ended up with a batch of dirty dupes. He found out about it relatively fast so the only problem for him is that he only can sell one dupe each 30 real life hours. He only did it to supplement his income so for him it's actually not that big of a problem because he still plays the game and earns money other legit ways and still sell a dupe first chance after 30 hours.

He still gets full price so you need a relatively high dupe detection level for the price to go down but I think Fun said something about that earlier in the thread

^ It's f*cking ridiculous. Back when I did my first garage reshuffle I didn't think there would be any issue selling cars I'd bought, so I just sold cars back to back until I got a message that I'd hit my daily limit.

 

Had to read a cheaters guide to understand what had happened selling my legit cars.

Some people tell there is a workaround, you may want to try it before it's patched:

Just start a gang attack, complete it and you should be able to sell the car for the full price

 

This is a workaround for the sell limit violations, i'm not completely sure if it will work for the actual detected dupes.

How long do these "Sell Limits" last? ...Life? I've had my "1 car, every 30 hours" for well over a year or so now. FWIW I actually have grown to like it. I'm not as apt to sell my Personal Vehicles (Which seemed like everytime the Wind Blew...smh lol) anymore. I used to sell them Back to back to pay for whatever the Newest DLC content that had come out. I would then have to grind to buy the sold vehicles & Upgrades back. Now I Don't do that anymore. So Thx R*.

As i got time on my hands atm (not by choice) ,i did that gang attack and tested my adder and i can sell it for a mighty $130,000 so no change on billionaire days vehicles.

Turismo which im sure i got after the great wipe had a $450,000 sell price though

It ONLY affects legit players. I had over 100 dupe detected cars on each of my accounts at one stage and with various dupe glitches (oddly) I was able to change them all back into legit cars.... lol. The worst part about it is if you relink your social club at any stage every car you own gets marked as a dupe detect. For me all my cars are now legit and I don't have any sell limit either.

It was about a year originally but Rockstar ran a update a little while ago that doubled the time or worse.. So you could be on one car for years now.

Dupe? Detected? Oh! Rockstar finally know how to detect it?

 

No they don't, all it detects is plates that are the same (except custom plates) but if you delete the custom plate then the cars are "dupes". This hasn't affected duping at all.. not even one bit. Because you either A.. Use a car with custom plates to do the dupe OR use a merge glitch where you get the plate of a new car.

Here it is. My insurgent resells for 9k. Rockstar must be kidding!! Not just insurgent, when i sold my eneity xf recently it was just 12k or so. New cars are not affected. I also sold my autarch and it was some decent money back,

 

 

Why selling them? I have a severe ocd and i don't keep any modern car if i don't use it often, as I keep no more than one supercar.

 

Did I buy it with modded money? No. In all these years some modders dropped me no more than 200k in total and I always submitted a support ticket to let rockstar remove it. And they did.

 

But I am a victim of the false anti-duplication or something. Since sometime last year I cannot modify my plate number for example. Maybe that's the reason?

 

Go do a gang attack, call in your Insurgent and go sell. You will get full value.

Also at some stage (might be still a thing) the modded Sentinels people were getting off the street to sell were spawning with identical plates so that caused some people to get in the dupe detection 1 car per 30 hours for years... bad books

Any car modified via iFruit is forced to get a custom plate. Now you have (what appears to be) 30 dupes even though theyre all different models. If you start selling a bunch of em to raise money after a new update, youre screwed.

That's only true if you delete the plate in iFruit. Custom plates are otherwise the best way to HIDE dupes, because their detection system can't tell a car you bought from a dupe if they both have the same custom plate. In fact, a lot of recent GC2F (give car to friend) glitches suggest you install a custom plate first, and have your friend set up a matching custom plate; that way the duped car would have a plate number that the detection system thinks is legit, because it's in their iFruit.

 

Short version: you only get dupe detected if you sell a car with a custom plate that isn't currently in your iFruit, or if you sell multiple cars with the same genetic (i.e. random and non-custom) plate number.

Im not exactly sure how iFruit works, but I know I only had one custom plate. I think it required me to get one when I started using it. I didnt get others because they cost money and Im a cheapskate. I only used iFruit to repaint stock wheels.

 

Whenever I repainted the wheels of a car - and that was many, many cars - it required me to switch to a custom plate. I didnt want this, as my custom plate was stupid (666666), but I went along with it because I didnt think it would cause a problem. It did. I sold a bunch of cars after an update dropped and it knocked me down to 1 every 30 hours. Ive never duped a car in my damn life and it seriously pissed me off.

 

I currently cant use iFruit. It will let me change the stock wheels (and charge me, because of course), but when I go into LSC it doesnt process the order. I still have a few of the 666666 ones. If I sell them, will I be able to use iFruit again? I dont even care about losing the money by selling and repurchasing them; I just want the app to work so I can repaint stock wheels.

Never sell a car that is marked as a dupe if you want to be able to use Ifruit in the near future.

If you don't care about loosing cars or money, you can fill your garages with street cars and write over those that are marked. I'm not 100% sure if this will make you be able to use ifruit again either.

Most people that dupes would just wait for a dupe glitch where you don't need custom plates and just write over every single one of them.
