IV Fixes & Improvements

I was pretty disappointed in Rockstar for not providing any fixes for the 10th anniversary, so I decided to fix some bugs myself.

I don't have a lot done currently, but I will have more fixes in the future.

 

DOWNLOAD HERE

 

Fixes list:

Airport FIA Exit sign collision fixed

Roman's Office has the same office door on both sides, and is accessible in Multiplayer

Fixed delay in AK47 firing animation, made tapping possible

Fixed missing wall in Star Junction ("stairway to nowhere")

Fixed exhaust smoke position on the Uranus

Fixed broken texture below the Getalife Building

Added collision to the debris in a building in Alderney

Made the cutscene weapons have the same higher texture resolution as the in-game ones

Fixed the very top of the Rotterdam Tower having a hole in it (was already fixed in TBOGT)

Fixed a minor texture issue on the top of the Rotterdam Tower
Fixed floating light on a rooftop

 

GXT fixes:
Fixed a typo in Undertaker subtitles
Fixed a typo in Truck Hustle subtitles
Added Oye to Luis' line in Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend subtitles
Fixed missing gray text in a Roman hangout conversation

 

 

Planned:

More subtitle fixes

More texture/map fixes (I'm pretty sure I fixed all of them that I encountered, feel free to tell me if I missed any)

Enterable Roman's Office for SP (and changing Roman's mission scripts to spawn you inside)

There's no point in having "Office" written on the two sides of the door since it's meant to help visitors locate the office.

Just released the 2nd version of this mod, fixed some incorrect subtitles and removed the fire delay from the AK-47, this makes the weapon much easier to tap with, and is probably an unfair advantage in multiplayer due to how much easier it is to line up the first shot without the delay.

I was already in the process of fixing the Uranus, the headlights are probably unfixable because the same thing happens with car shadows in the Booth Tunnel, they are most likely shader-related issues, but I'll try

EDIT: The Uranus is harder to fix than I thought, I need to either remove the exhaust smoke altogether or move one of the exhausts to match up with the smoke position. Which one would be the better option?

Nevermind, I managed to get it to work using the same trick that cars like the Sentinel use for dual exhaust.

In my opinion the best thing would be to move it, to be honest the Uranus is one of my favorite cars and I certainly never noticed the change of place, let's see what more people say :)

After a lot of trial and error, I finally managed to actually fix it. I've also added a subtitle fix for Diamonds are a Girl's best friend.

Is one exhaust higher than the other? If I understand it right, the normal exhaust is higher than the sport one, If you can't fix the side that the smoke is coming out, IMO the best option would be to swich the side that the sport exhaust is at, so both come out on the right side. But that would require a Model change, of course.

Here's another thing fixed that probably nobody ever noticed was broken - this texture below the Getalife building (top - before, bottom - after)

I don't want to post too much, anyway I think this will be my last post on this topic, I've been looking all day for GTA IV bugs but really at least on the internet you don't usually find much information.
I just wanted to know if you can or will fix these bugs? The mod is progressing incredibly well and you really do a great job! :)

I don't want to post too much, anyway I think this will be my last post on this topic, I've been looking all day for GTA IV bugs but really at least on the internet you don't usually find much information.
I just wanted to know if you can or will fix these bugs? The mod is progressing incredibly well and you really do a great job! :)

I can probably fix the first one, one of the first things I wanted to fix was that radar bug but I don't think it's possible, I would have to make the radar stationary because I can't give collision to individual bones.

Just installed this. Damn, you should really organize the files into their respective folders!

 

I also have some text bugs to report, in case you're interested:

 

-in one of Niko's lines when hanging with Roman (specifically the one where Niko mentions luggages), his Serbian lines aren't grey, like they are in missions

The Uranus exhaust issue is easy to fix in Zmod2. Make a copy of the exhaust dummy and name it exhaust_2. Then put the exhaust dummy in the hierarchy for the extra with the stock exhaust (extra_3), and the exhaust_2 dummy in the hierarchy for the extra with the custom exhaust (extra_7), then move exhaust_2 to where it should be. Done.

But if you use ZModeler instead of openFormats it will make the car buggy and crash others in multiplayer.
