What songs will be in your playlist at launch for RDR2?

Ok, so , after having a song stuck in my head for last few days, it got me thinking. While i know the in game music and sounds will be a blast . When it comes to playing online , i often prefer my own music playlists ( on spotify) . So that got me to wondering . What songs would make a great playlist for this .

So for all who would like to contribute, feel free to post your songs that you would add to a Red Dead 2 Playlist and rock out while taking down any and everything in RDR2 O . We have a while between now and then, i thought it would be cool to make a playlist of songs everyone posts . Be glad to share it with anyone who wants to use it .

I'll start with the one stuck in my head right now and a few others i can come up with :

This one is from a sorta local band that most prob have never heard, but is a great song and really fits

For such games I can listen only original soundtrack... as being said in interviews, we will have "smart" music due to weather, specific time and environment.

I would like to finish the game first, then after there's no more missions left to do I'll just use my personal playlist which is really random and has a bunch of different genres.

But like how everyone else said, it's better to listen to the in-game music to fully enjoy the immersion of the game.

+ 1 for listening to the game's music thoroughly too, very much looking forward to this aspect of the game, especially that first run through. The atmosphere it can enhance, like last time in RDR, just sucked me right in, lol.

Playlist? Are you kidding?

The game will have a killer soundtrack. Imagine that you are listening to something else when a piece like this starts to play after some major event and you miss it:

Criminal charges will be deserved, I swear.......

The moment when this song starts to play on the first rdr is just magic, man, maybe my favourite "musical" moment on a videogame.

I'll play with the OST, but some music I'll listen to motivate myself while I'm not playing or something:

And he'll miss it because he's listening to f*cking Cowboy by Kid Rock, that's crime and punishment all in one

clearly some people here dont get what i meant, thats cool. The wording of my title was not exactly correct. Sorry to be "sooooo offensive" . After i play thru the SP mode ( listening to the actual game music and enjoying all of that fully) and then am logging in 100s of hours in online, ill be looking to have a playlist to listen to when playing deathmatches , as i always do when playing games online after ive heard the games original music so much , ive grown tired of it. I spend most of my time playing online , so after while, i like to have back up music to listen to .But thanks for all the awesome suggestions .....

Some songs I may listen to. More for free roaming, appreciating the countryside, than death matches.

I never use any external music. Ever. Not even multiplayer only games.

No matter the game, if it's a good game, they know what they're doing sound-design wise.

Introducing foreign music just ruins it.

Honestly, what sometimes ruins GTAO for me is having the original music on, because I've heard it for 5 years and am fed up with it. Having my own music makes playing feel fresh(er).

But for RDR2, I'll have the game music on. There's, mainly, a huge difference between grinding GTA, flying and driving fast cars across the map, and being alone in the wilderness.

In the first RDR I turned off the music pretty early in the game because I just wanted to hear the sound of nature. So I missed out on the music cue when you go to Mexico. Side note I still have a unopened copy of the RDR soundtrack on vinyl and it apparently goes for over $300 on ebay.

Anyway, right after I bet RDR I went for a drive and this song came on right as I pulled out of the driveway.

So that song holds a bit of a memory for me on RDR.

For me? Nothing. I see all these posts about how people are gonna smoke a bowl and blare some music but to me that seems silly. I want to experience this game clear headedly and exactly the way Rockstar has hand crafted it. If I had played Red Dead Redemption with my own music playing and missing "Compass" start playing when Ross finally tells me I can go home to my family, riding down from snow to plains as fast as I could, I would probably not regard RDR as the most amazing game I've ever played. After I'm done the story then sure I will play music and stuff but the first playthrough I'm listening out for the masterfully crafted soundscape they will surely have made.

Call me a pothead but its pretty much common knowledge that weed and videogames go hand in hand as well as red wine and bolognese. :) I dont smoke much nowadays, not while playing either, but I already know Im going to do it on the release week, guaranteed. Have done so with every R* game since 10 years back. It just does so much for free roam immersion its crazy..

Having said that, I completely respect your take on it, hell I enjoy GTAO just as much as ever, weed or no weed. But for an entirely new world to sink into, especially RDR2... I wont pass on smoking then lol

Little Big Man

This song from "Campaneros" would be perfect for RDR 1, or whenever we next see Mexico again.

Levantando en aire los sombreros
Vamos a matar, vamos a matar, companeros
Pintaremos de rojo sol y cielos
Vamos a matar, vamos a matar, companeros
Hay que ganar moriendo, pistoleros
Vamos a matar, vamos a matar, companeros
Hay que morir venciendo, guerrilleros
Vamos a matar, vamos a matar, companeros
Luchando con el hambre, sin dineros
Vamos a matar, vamos a matar, companeros
Estudiantes, rebeldes, bandoleros
Vamos a matar, vamos a matar, companeros
Hermanos somos, reyes y obreros
Vamos a matar, vamos a matar, companeros
Lifting the hats in air
Let's kill, let's kill, companions
We will paint red sun and skies

Let's kill, let's kill, companions
You have to win dying, gunmen
Let's kill, let's kill, companions
You have to die defeating, guerrillas
Let's kill, let's kill, companions

Fighting with hunger, without money
Let's kill, let's kill, companions
Students, rebels, bandits
Let's kill, let's kill, companions
Brothers we are, kings and workers
Let's kill, let's kill, companions

Some great tunes here and like others I'll def be listening to the in-game musical score (for the first playthru, as OP states this is for after beating the story) but if I had to put a tune up it would be heavily inspired by the show Hell On Wheels (on Netflix - totally recommend it if you want more cowboy-inspired stuff!). The playlist should be badass and timeless...something that gives you that western feel without giving other memories (like, I wouldn't listen to Kid Rock as I would just think about that Jackie Chan movie where he's a cowboy for some reason). I can see this song being used in trailers if they made more.
