Dripfeeding is cancer, if you ask me. Ready, finished, downloaded content is occupying space on my drive and I can't use it. It's even worse, if I can, but with some idiotic restrictions like in case with Hunter in Smuggler's run. There should be no restrictions like that in a sandbox game. The only way to lock content is either behind skill/ completion or not to lock it at all. R* are double lazy: they don't want to sign and upload actual DLCs every week and negotiate with Sony/ MS, but they're making us wait like we're getting actual DLCs. I tolerated this BS long enough and finally decided to play SP with mods instead of Online, never felt happier. I'm enjoying more detailed world (comes in handy with ultra settings), I never think about money or businesses or supplies, I can skip the night if I don't like it. I can keep going on and on. For me personally, that was a revelation. It's not like I'm poor in Online, not even close, but the feeling you're experiencing when you can play without businesses, online events and other crap are liberating. I miss old school GTA like IV and it looks like we're never getting anything similar.

I was never a fan of the dripfeed; it sucked and it felt blue-balling. But I think I knew why they did it. You didn't throw all in at once, you had more content to show next week and you let people get money by any means for the next car. But three weeks is too much, and there's no sense in doing that.

i might be wrong, but they might be doing that to make dataminers and speculators look bad. That, or they're scraping the bottom of the empty tub of butter and spreading thin the little they got on the toast.

Non Funkable Token

They are skipping 3 weeks because they released 3 vehicles at once last time.

We still get (kinda) 1 car per week, but some cars are released before the supposed date with this new method, which isn't bad. Definitely better than the classic method.

Dripfeed still sucks tho, but I take the new method over the old one anyday.

Thanks to drip feeding the best time to play GTAO is always in the future.

Yes that blows.

I prefer drip feed at this point especially releasing adversary modes, races, and even cars. Staggering the content so others will actually play it is necessary. There is too much content and lobbies are dead unless its dbl $. Honestly, some things should be turned off to force players to actually play new modes and a handful of selected modes. The most desired items should all be released on the dlc drop though. I honestly have not been bothered by any of the drip feeding. I am bothered by lack of garage space for new cars.

I can recall the times when we would go months with nothing. No cars. No event weeks. Nothing.

It didn't bother me then and it doesn't bother me now. But I am a patient person.

I wish Rockstar would go back to the more frequent, once a month Updates they did early on in the beginning. Not only do you get more content often, but you don't have to wait months for bug fixes. Sure they'll hot patch some lame money glitch, but who cares about that?

I'd love updates revolved around fixing sh*t that's actually wrong with the game/broken than any content tbh..but that's just me.

Just goes to show that R* only cares about their fans because they have money to show for. They're less than likely to listen to their fans unless money is involved, and will always likely put amazing cars and intentionally ruin them, be it appearance-wise or performance-wise, or both.

Dripfeeding should be f*cking abolished.

It was one of the 3 worst mistakes this game has ever made. Along with freemode work, and the excessive hotwheels races that they LOVE to pump out.

Don't forget Shark cards. So sad that R* is going to continue these practices going into Red Dead Redemption. What really made my blood boil is that they said that this is how GTAO will be starting with the next GTA installment. I thought R* learned from their mistakes in GTAO, but I guess not.

Ditto. It seems that RDR2 will introduce Shark Cards, or any similar content that involves microtransactions. I've already jumped the RDR2 bandwagon even though its not out yet. It's common knowledge that RDR2's multiplayer will have overpriced content while Single Player will be left in the dust, just like GTA V's Single Player.

Ya, that is true. but, when that was a thing, people still thought raiding the military base was fun. It was GTAO early stages. (basically the first year and a half) After that, going into 2015 to 2016, we got updates that were so big and cost so much, they lasted. It wasn't till the businesses in GTA (IE, F&F, E&C, IGG1, IGG2) that players were able to make a decent buck to their name. If you told 2015 me that I would have 40mil in the bank legit, I would have asked you what are you on.

Which leads me to my point, I miss having all the content on day one.

No Use For A Name

I HATE dripfeeding, and I don't get the people who defend it at all.

Lets see, I dont cheat or dupe, so Im perpetually poor. Ive also been playing this game for 4 years and the last thing I want to do is spend every waking hour grinding to afford overpriced Shark card bait. Im also 37 years old with a job, a social life and a girlfriend, which cuts into video game time.

When 36 new vehicles are released at once, my options are either sell a bunch of stuff, buy Shark cards, or spend my whole life doing retarded repetitive fetch missions. None of those options are appealing or feasible. Not to mention when a bunch of new vehicles come out at once, theres gonna be 3 months of dead time, which everyone will bitch about.

Dripfeed allows me to casually grind for an hour or two a night so I can afford one new half million dollar car every week. It also gives me a chance to drive and appreciate them for a bit before something new comes out. Constant releases at least keep the game somewhat fresh.

If there's good event weeks between the dripfed content I would prefer that way, because that would mean more chances to gather the money needed to buy what interests me, and then some more.

However, event week's quality is not very consistent, so far the best for me were the contraband and smuggler weeks, but there should be something for us solo players aside from double money on races and adversary modes all the time. They're fun for the most part but it's not consistent as a money-making activity as you have to win in order to make the most profit, and that can be a real challenge when you're getting into lobbies with more experienced or better players.

But at the end of the day I don't have much problem at all with dripfeeding, I actually get more upset when there's an event week that I can't use effectively to make extra money, like the current one since I don't own any of the special vehicles. But I can still do them for fun, so it's not a total loss either.

Yeah well on tuesday we can tune another 2 buggy new cars paint them right drive 5 minutes with it and then let it collect dust in the garage, because they all drive and handle like sh*t. I haven't touched my Ellie or GB200 since release TBH. All the new cars are useless.

Fix the damn cars Cockstar.

to all the people that hate it altogether in the poll, would you rather go back to months of radio silence and no new content with a few event weekends? remember when they did that, remember when they were just event weekends, not even full weeks, and not every week either...

I'm just curious, cos if we didn't have the dripfeed altogether that's how it would be...

The cars are probably all bugged to hell.

I suspect that's why they're not out yet. I can't afford 'em yet anyway, got other things to buy (when they're on sale).

Never pay full price, never buy their stupid shark cards (Seriously? Pay real money for fake money? Don't think so!), and make damn sure of what you're going to get before buying are my rules (always check out at least 2 or 3 reviews first).

Yes. Absolutely.

That is 100% better than stretching the cars over 6 months.

You aren't supposed to know about the drip-feed, it's not like Rockstar share info about the drip-feed cars and how much they would cost.

That's what they want, to surprise you with a half million dollar car or two million dollar car every week.

They did change by announcing the new stuff before release by one week.

Well, it doesn't quite work, dripfeed vehicles get leaked sometimes before the update goes live, some hours later and you find MrBoss or whatever making videos about said vehicles, that info spreads really fast.

They're barely fooling anyone.

With all due respect, Fun, I disagree. When SR dropped half of the damn vehicles were in the trailers, it was close to impossible not to know about them unless you live under a rock. More, it was literally impossible not to know about them if you did more than 1 Hangar source mission. One thing is hidden locked content, which is not cool on it's own, but still tolerable. Another is teased, restricted content like Hunter in SR. A lot of people wanted it, but not only R* put it as one of the last vehicles to unlock, but they let us play a source mission with it. That's really, really irritating and not cool for a sandbox game like GTA.

My point is that the trailer didn't mention the price nor the release date for the Hunter.

Not to mention they went after OpenIV, the tool that allowed us to find the un-released vehicles and figure out the prices, even though the team won't hesitate to remove the ability to do so if that was the reason they are after them.

The drip-feed wasn't their intention to grant us the time to afford the upcoming vehicles, but it's the opposite.

In a way, you can say it's similar to glitching.

In a 5 year old game, at this point I take anything new as a bonus whether it comes every week or every 3 months. We are lucky to still be getting anything new at all even if most of it is complete crap. So I dont really care what comes or when its coming anymore. I take it as it comes.

We are not lucky, R* only does it for the money, not the community. The only reason why we get updates and have this whole shark card money milking scandal that r* has got going on is because of the rank 50's who go and spend $100 on microtransactions.

If people would have stopped buying shark cards, I bet we would have had a GTA 6 or a new GTA installment announced a year ago.

I think gta 6 was never coming any sooner than 2020 no matter what.

I'm not sure I'm getting you. The Hunter was the part of the DLC with release date for the DLC, but when it dropped there was no Hunter to buy. I knew it was there, it was advertised in the trailer with a release date! Honestly, not a single vehicle was advertised with a separate release unlock date. It's one thing we're talking about locked vehicles that we don't know of, but this is different. And I have absolutely lost you about glitching and Hunter situation. The thing was advertised, implemented and usable in source mission. Don't take it personally, I'm just genuinely annoyed by dripfeeding and honestly lost your point.
