Are you bored with the game

Didn't really mention PvP earlier, but that's because ...I just don't play GTA fo PvP - or any other GTA-style sandbox game, for that matter. Saints Row, Watch Dogs, Mafia, Sleeping Dogs - they're all fundamentally structured around PvE (quite literally 'E' for 'environment', since environmental interactivity is such an important part of those games). PvP shooting matches are simple enough a mechanic that taking any primarily-single-player shooter and letting players shoot each other is going to work fine - but it's such a superficial aspect to something like GTA, and I really need something more involved than that.

That's partly what frustrates me about most recent updates forcing players into public Freemode to do anything - because as soon as you have hostile players involved, everything devolves into a repetitive shooting match. Great if you like that kind of thing, but again, I want more out of a GTA-like game. Bit like how yeah, you can buy a McLaren, and only ever use it to drive down the road and collect your groceries, but it's a bit of a waste to take a performance car and only use it for the same basic, generic tasks as a beat-up Camry, considering all the unique things it can do that a Camry just can't.

And i got bored like in 2017. That's why i spend most of my time in SP now, im just screwing around with mods.

Well theres a pretty big gap between "i have nothing against PvP, and i'm seriously bored right now" and "i hate PvP, and i'm pretty much bored of the game right now"

But I avoided PvP since... Heists part 1?

Dogfighting - yeah thats fun. I waited years for smugglers run update. Too bad they added it so late... after explosive rounds and all that.

but PvP ? Where everything boils down to using explosive rounds, RPGs, sniper dancing? Where people always just teleport to the facility to use orbital cannon after you won? or where they kill themselfs cause they care about K/D for some weird reason?

Wheres fun in that?

every encounter looks like this right now:

> he tries to attack with deluxo - I counter with hunter
> he tries with oppressor - he dies
> he respawns it over and over again using his MC - he dies
> he gives up and comes back in a jet - I counter with pyro or starling
> he goes to facility and calls orbital strike - I have to go and wait in Avenger till he wasts his shot
> he comes back in deluxo

and if you are on PC 5/10 times it ends up with a godmode scriptkiddo who spawns 200 tanks and crashes your game (unless you are faster and you lag yourself to empty loby)


So my GTA PvP experience is very limited I would say. I try to stay away.

If i even play the game those days (maybe once a week at best) it usually looks like this:

> start Piracy Prevention and hunt grifers for 10min
> start Fortified and hunt griefers for 10min
> be ready to lag yourself off if you see supernatural sh*t going on
> buy supplies, turn of the game

I am bored when we dont have any 2x $ business out there or good discounts.

 

This week I was in on tuesday, "grinding" those turbo starts and slipstreams, to unlock colors in LSC. But I am not interested in playing those races anymore, I have everything on discount that is "usefull"... So, currently, I am bored.

 

If next week is e.g. IE double, than I will be playing GTA like I just started playing

 

p.s. ON wendsday night I entered to kill some people with my new Stormberg, but after 20 kills ... I was just bored. Killing people is so much more fun when you are doing it with some friends

Solo glitches keep me from getting bored. Level 1302 and 201. PvP? Not into that.Combat is too clunky.

I barely play any more unless my friends invite me.

 

If I am in the game, 90% of my time is spent AFK in the bunker while watching videos on YouTube or chatting on Discord.

 

And I DESPISE PvP

Last night me and my friends and friends of friends had a session all to ourselves, there were maybe 15 of us all in all, no one killing anyone else, everybody just having a good time talking to each other and goofing around.

 

But I do agree there should be more non-violent pastimes, these occasions would be a lot more fun if there was! Cant say Im bored with the game though.

I'm bored with threads about people being bored with the game. It's just another boring B*tch & Moan!

I guess I don't understand when people overload on GTAO or think they've done everything and say, "I'm bored with GTAO."

Please.

I've been in a creative career for 30 years, and the one thing I teach over and over, is that boredom is a nothing more than a lack of imagination.

 

So, go get your Snapmatic camera, get on a Bati, Ruffian, or Oppressor, go into Passive and explore the incredible world provided for you and take some photos.
Share them here instead of creating a weak poll, limited discussion, and posting just another boring "I'm bored" thread.

 

Again, sorry if I sound snippy, but it irks me when folks lose sight of how fortunate we are to have a game this #$%&@ good.

Kinda why I wish the poll at least had an 'other' option - like I said, I'm not bored, personally. I'm frustrated/disappointed by the current state of the game, and the overall quality of more recent updates - but it'd only take maybe one good update and a solid sign of some kind of turnaround to get me back into the saddle. I genuinely miss GTAO being my go-to game.

Can't get bored of the people I meet, and the people make the jobs I do fun. But certainly would love more challenges and for GTA to offer more choice like it once did to encourage me to be more active in other areas.

 

PvP is simply f*cked here. But to me GTA is far more than what some want from it. To each their own there, but I don't participate in much this game offers because I often have little choice, cheat or lose. Nope. Businesses and freemode are nothing to me, and I don't engage anyone, rarely out of passive here.

 

Still, there's much fun to be had, it'll tide me over until RDR2, and I still play all my old GTA's, this'll join those. The speculation of this coming DLC is uninspiring to say the least. But the racing here is more fun than GT sport for now, I'm gold.

in V, not in GTAO. and there's no bars, no burgers, no billiard, no clubs...

 

Spice it up.

 

Example: do everything that you were doings in gtao, but with a bounty on ur head,....ALL the time. Survive it.

 

Thinking about Yakuza 6 but deaf not bored of GTAO.

That's sort of what I'm trying to achieve, come to think of it - there's a whole lot of things I reckon R* could do, but at the very least, I'd just like to get them to fill in a couple of small but fundamental gaps.

 

More than a bit miffed by the fact that something Supra-ish was one of those - I'm not giving up on that one, but the Jester Classic feels insulting as a result. Beyond that, some decent character cosmetics for the first time in ages - I feel that side of the game got shafted after Ill-Gotten Gains, and there's still some glaring omissions there.
