Native American "Indian" Tribes

I know Indian tribes won't be central to this game- the time period is too late.

Indians were all but defeated by the early 1890s, even on the high plains.

But there would've still been A FEW hiding out on the fringes of the landscape, up in the mountains. This is consistent with RDR1, where there were a few Indians in West Elizabeth. But this earlier time period and vast expanse of mountains promises more natives, maybe even small bands.

And as the trailer says, the west had NEARLY been tamed.

I would love to see Indian tribes, with their stealth tactics, tomahawks, deadly bow and arrows and incredible horsemanship. They would make for an excellent foe.

If this is not central to the game, R* will not be taking as much risk of flack from the PC brigade.

Indians were badass, and it wouldn't have been the west without them.

I'm picturing a scene like the one in the Revenant where the Indians ambush the camp. That was an amazing scene.

This is one of my top wishes for the story mode at least.

Indians lurking in the mountains! What are the chances?

Obviosuly there are going to be natives in the game. There's a native in our gang. There's a canoe and dreamcatchers on trailer 1. If that isn't telling i don't know what is. And It is not a western if it ain't got natives. Particularly after RDR, where natives kind of had a minor role for their proeminence in the wild west, i'm guessing rockstar wants to make up for that and employ some native related stuff on the storyline.

Some great points there.

The dreamcatcher and canoe are great signs.

Native americans were some savage warriors, and would of course be a more dangerous prospect than encountering a bear or a pack of wolves. I can imagine them stalking you silently through the trees.

They would also make lone travel in the mountains a very intrepid affair.

I know there's a native in the 7, but I meant beyond that of course.

bit disappointing for there to be no input by natives in this game i would like to see that i'm sure they made a thoughtful decision as to why

Many would have loved facing Indians in the first Red Dead. But this was unfortunately not the case. Have you thought about integrating them into this prequel suite?

While Native Americans won't appear as a large force as befitting to the period [pioneers did a good job of massacring them], I don't doubt we'll have minor interactions with some smaller bands be it through side missions or even assisting/assistance. The Indian in Dutch's posse must have connections to tribes at least?

I'd like to at least see their reaction to the industrialisation/civilisation taming the West. Rockstar on often good with their social commentaries.

They should at least have some trading posts around. They'd fit well in a secondary role, giving side missions, or even being a force we can fight against.

It would be very cool if there was an area/territory of the map which is an Indian reservation, which is only occupied by the Indians and is one of the few places where as of yet remains untouched and is one of the last safe heavens of the Indians on the game's map.
