How does a post become 'best answer' in a thread?

 

I have one in a recent thread, but, not had any notifications of anyone actually 'liking' the post

It's a seperate feature from liking the post. Tap on the reply and there is the option.

I've been on these forums for over a decade and I still can't find where to actually click to mark someone's response as the answer.

Never found anything along the right lines.

When I said 'click on the reply', I meant click on the post. I've checked mobile and full page version on one of my threads in this forum, the option is next to the quote button on each reply.

Clicking on the post, I get 3 options....

 

Report

 

Quote

 

Mark Solved

 

Guessing, it would be Mark Solved?

 

Edit to add: I'm on the mobile version

Just looked again, on a different thread to this one, all I get when tapping the post is report or quote

^ Honest question, thrown in from the side (so nobody please get mad in case It's a stupid one): Do I understand correctly that this feature is only available for any thread's original poster? For I've never came across a "Mark solved" button either, but I've never opened a topic here either.

 

EDIT: What I meant was whether there are additional options in general, i.e. highlighting any answers considered best and "most helpful", something like that. But glad I contributed to someone's amusement, anyway, you're welcome

That's just it, why would the op of the thread make my particular comment the 'best answer'?

 

If you read the thread (in this section) in question, you would see that the post was very sarcastic

Nah I can see that could be abused though, or used incorrectly at least.
