Your progress is only saved for so long but if it does indeed save you will see a message in your posting box with something along the lines of View Autosaved Content Today May 3rd 2018 and then click on that and a little box will pop up click the black box and whatever content was saved will then appear in your posting box. Never tried that before. Did you browser retain or re-open the page when you opened it the next time? That's the only circumstance where I can see this working TBH.
