J.Dillinger Blackheart
Absolutely, i dont think it will just be as cut and dry as GTAO. like they said the atmosphere will play a huge part. How? Idk but i'm very very excited to see how they do things. Do i think it will be innovative, and will be like nothing we've seen from R* before? Yes Hunter S. OfficialTwiggz
Dont get me wrong, GTAO is a prime example of what future games need to be (minus the expensive in game content and expensive micro transactions) But the ability to do what you want, when you want at any given time. Im hoping our character would hop off a train/ferry and we start our world in a similar fashion the way we did on GTAO. Have a jobs wanted poster, and you can choose as outlaw, lawmen or rancher. Outlaw - Obtain monies from banks, rob travelers, and join a outlaw posse. Lawmen - protect the citizen of a certain town, horse chases, and join a lawmen posse. Rancher - herd cattle, break wild horses/put them in your corral, and trade around town with NPCs/other ranchers. Now, in my theory, all players can own different horses, customize them, own houses/farm houses, and trade with other players. Itll get old pretty quickly, so Im sure Rockstar can work their magic while keeping the game lore friendly and not have any rocket wagons or explosive shotgun shells. MojoGamer
all players can own different horses, customize them, customize a horse? Saddles, Light Blankets, Medium Guards, Heavy Armor, Hoods, Belts, Horse shoes, Unicorn Horns, Bridles, etc. 1 upgrade for either Horse Stamina, Horse Speed and Horse Bag Space per day like Elder Scrolls Online or buy 10 upgrades with microtransactions. I never thought I see the day R* will give us Unicorn Horns in GTA 5, I'm no girl but I guess we can anticipate horns, eyepatchs, bridles and hoods. Take Two has said some worrisome things about microtransactions and lootboxes after the whole EA fiasco. Even with GTA Online they are already getting away with it and there is a good change they are gonna try and push it even more with Red Dead. I hope I'm dead wrong with that, but their latest claims are nothing but negative once.

He's not like developing RDR2 or even the head of Rockstar, he's the head of the parent company; he is a guy in a board room pushing stacks of money around. Edited December 1, 2017 by Hunter S. Jason
All the high up execs at the big publishers are all singing the same tune basically. Out of fear, possibly, fear of what happens if loot boxes get declared as gambling, or if regulations get placed on microtransactions. They want the status quo to remain as is, it's making them too much money to risk changing it. BLOOD
BLOOD
Take-Two is way smaller than EA and Activision Blizzard though.. EDIT/NOTE: And BTW that statement was made by Karl Slatoff President of Take-Two not Strauss Zelnick the Chairman and CEO. Hunter S. Compton
The whole loot boxes as gambling thing only really applied to the CSGO controversy, because items could be sold on the marketplace for actual money. It was an actual slot machine in which you could get an actual return. Unless your loot crates have something that can be assigned a monetary value, it can’t really be considered gambling. Jason
has Red Dead Online been confirmed yet? Sorta. The initial press release confirmed a brand new online experience and immediately after Take-Two registered a whole load of domains and registered copyrights for Red Dead Online. Darealbandicoot
Wouldn't R* be LOSING more Bond(microtransactions) sales by making all dlc timed exclusive on playstation?
DexMacLeod
Wouldn't R* be LOSING more Bond(microtransactions) sales by making all dlc timed exclusive on playstation? Red Dead Online is such a mystery right now it's hard to speculate but that's a good observation. Even if it's only a week or two early that gives Xbox users that extra time to pick out what they want and save up for it. It's not all DLC though, Sony referred to it as "select content". I think Red Dead Online is going to be pretty hard to monetize in general though.

BLOOD_WOLF
I want to see some form of Bounty system for RDR2 Online, gang or solo. Reward us for killing others with high bounties. J.Dillinger Blackheart
Reno_
I hope we don't get some immersion breaking stuff added like tamed bears. It would ruin the atmosphere so damn much. It could work for a crazy DLC like undead nightmare but they have to keep things like that out of the main game. Tez2
You know how GTA Online have this article that shows up during the loading screen that talks about the Double Action Revolver ? That kinds confirms how RDR Online will look like, it'll be in the clouds or a black screen with this loading screen. NYC PATROL
Few things I'd like to see: - Buy your own property this time around. (And the need to maintain things on said property. Maybe your farm animals will help you get money for local businesses etc.) - Customize every part of your character including facial features. - Different breeds of horses to buy from the start if you have the money. No more unlocking. - Some kind of hunting mode with posse or randoms - Posse's can invite other posse's in free roam to a standoff Edited January 24, 2018 by NYC PATROL J.Dillinger Blackheart
Hunter S. Compton
The whole choosing your grandparents thing in GTAO really did not work out at all. It made everyone look basically the same. Karlitoz-E
Tampinha85
Things i'd like to see:- Posses, again (more than 8 players per session). - Being able to "claim" one of the gang hideouts on map as a posse HQ. - MP3 gun inventory style, meaning you can only carry a knife, 1 or 2 guns and a rifle/repeater. - A second holster for the second firearm (didnt see that in any of the released pics ). - Hardcore free roam just as it was in RDR. - Customization: - Your Character (appearance, clothes, holsters, etc). - Horses (breeds, saddles, etc). - You can hold your rifle in the horse's saddle. - You can set campfires and sit anywhere. - Free roam activities (gang hideouts, bounties, etc). - Poker (this time not in a separated lobby). - You can play a role - Lawman, rustler, bounty hunter, gang member, etc (different type of bonus for each role). - Properties. - Train robbery, bank robbery, etc. MVP, Karlitoz-E and J.Dillinger Blackheart
Rocket-74
I'd really like the gang hideouts to work kinda like a Guild House. Where the crew as a whole owns it, and every member can access it, regardless of who is offline. Karlitoz-E
RiverGhost
I'm imagining the game might open with a kind of tutorial mission in which John Marston is present but at the end of it, he is left for dead. That would fit in with what we already know, give a nod to the Character we all love and allow the game to add new characters and details John would have been unaware of in RDR. Basically it gives a nod back and then gives Rockstar a blank slate to work with for the story. tsycho

Something about those small scenes of the young version of who you play as really builds a character for me. Like Assassins Creed did with Ezio. you watch him be born and later die.
