I think they will have their work cut out for them if they plan on matching the revenue stream that GTA Online had. I can't imagine what would ever tempt me to buy some digital currency in a wild west game but if all they're going to do is make it a grind fest like GTA then I'll probably just stick to single player. There are "facts posts" floating around on Instagram which I think claimed RDO will be grindier than single player, but less grindy than GTAO. We can only hope they don't make it too greedy. I'm totally with you on this, though. I'm not really looking forward to playing another grind-fest like GTAO. Unlike in GTA V, I actually like the protagonist in RDR2. I would have no problem sticking to story mode if they go full out encouraged PvP+griefers+microtransactions in RDO. Edited November 25, 2018 by Watain
Nurolight 149
I came across a house with an interesting sign out front. Now remember with GTA Online that these For Sale signs indicated properties that could be bought online? In GTA V, the (initial) online properties could already be located in the single player by their For Sale signs out front - which people initially suspected and was later confirmed when online released. I'm in the thinking now that this fairly blank slate house could very easy allow for a lot of customisation and the for sale sign is a very big giveaway. I've no idea how property will work online, as a seamless interior is a far cry from GTAO's instance-based apartments. Perhaps whoever is in the area first with the house ownership will have their instance of the house loaded and if you wish to see yours, you'll have to wait until they leave or *migrate server*. I'd say keep an eye out and see if you spot anymore of these empty houses with for sale signs. I know the Downes residence eventually empties out and has a For Sale sign - possibly an indication Online will take place post 1899. Yea I've heard some rumblings saying online would probably take place post campaign. Also in one online achievement which talked about upgrading a camp of some kind which would lend credence to it possibly being a seamless interior as that seems like the only way one could have a camp type set up. I'm kind of hoping that property is like gang based or something like that so you could have like a ranch for your posse or just as a ranch to do "rancher things " (which while unlikely , given that some missions in the campaign involved those kinds of things It would not be impossible) and have ranch hands and such so you could have a seamless build but also not have it limited to one person at least for the bigger buildings cause people fighting over them will be a sh*t show
Emmi 10,194
I never imagined I'd say it but I'm really excited for Red Dead Online. Hopefully it gets unlocked this week! I think this can be much more fun than GTA Online could ever be!

I just hope there's a poncho outfit to chose from! It's a shame there is none for the story mode! Very similar here. Played RDR1 online, then GTA from 2104 till 2016, then went back to RDR 1 online. Also last 5 years played PES. 3 games last 5 years.

HockeyMike24 935
On the topic of houses, here is a empty lot in Saint Denis with a sign that reads "The miracle of the age precut and easy to assemble log homes. Available at H. Fischer"

It may include a property map/catalogue with available housing?

Watain 1,867
I have a feeling we won't get too many houses/apartments to choose from. I think we'll get a few, maybe one or two around each state. I think the main focus will lie on our personal camps and the customization options for those. I really hope that is not the case, though. I would really like a nice apartment somewhere "high" in Saint Denis, with a good view over one of its main streets or something. But it's also interesting to see what will happen to some of the houses in Online. If it's going to be set post the story mode events, then we should potentially have quite a few houses up for grabs. Like when I revisited the Aberdeen pig farm and found it all looted and largely emptied. That could become a nice player house, if customized a bit.

IceHeartache 1,511
I hope the character creator will be a little more immersive than the character creator from gta online, if they ad some height and weight options it would be amazing ( i already see a lot of girls with big boobs and mans with very long beards robbing banks around the map xd)
Virus.. 374
I hope rockstar gives us a couple of body types to work with when creating our character, arthurs body type for example though it would be something if we can work with bills or pearsons lol.

Tez2 38,795
This achievement was 0.00% a few days ago, someone completed it a few hours ago. "Red Dead Online: You achieved MVP 3 times (in a round with at least 4 players)." Some devs/testers are playing during the weekend which highly hint towards online release this week.
DSandvik 24
I surely hope so. It's physically painful waiting for online to be released lol

I just want decent camps since i'm not going to be in towns too much. No apartments for me, had enough of that in GTA. Wilderness is my domain. After some time, some ranch in New Austin. Commander S 25,915
Dear R*: please can you hold off just a little while longer - because my Xbox One X won't be delivered until later this week, and I'd rather do things like character creation with ultra-crisp image quality, rather than through a blurry mess of pixels on my long-suffering Xbone...
Collibosher 2,035
Tuesday is GTA Online day, so Thursday is probably the RDR Online day? I can't imagine them getting events and updates on the same day or even on the consecutive days.

RyuNova 17,262
I just hope that R* realises that if you give players the ability to freely kill each other with no repercussions the majority of people WILL ALWAYS do that. I ma not saying remove PvP in Free Roam but have a little law and order. Persistent Bounties for killing players, Dead or Alive status in towns etc. By all means, be an asshole but you will be an outlaw for it. I guess it will just work like in singleplayer and killing other players is like killing npcs. You get a bounty, cant use shops etc. And unlike gta a death doesnt solve all your problems.

Bounties should last until you pay them off. Even across sessions.

If a player constantly kills other players. Said players can snitch on them to the law giving them a large bounty. But always remember snitches get stitches :P
