Deluxo, Stromberg & Thruster Special Vehicle Circuit Races now in GTA Online

Meh, yet another event week with absolutely nothing remotely interesting to me to offer. I technically have Deluxo on my wish list, but even 25% off, it's overpriced, since all I want is a DeLorean, normal, stock DeLorean, not this flying, weaponized meme. Will buy it if it's 40-50% off, since aside from collecting purposes, it has no value to me. If I wanted to play a game with silly flying cars, I'd install Saints Row.

As for the races, I may actually try some of them in the future. But alone, they are not enough reason for me to log in, so for now, I'm gonna pass. Maybe next week, if there's anything nice on discount, or I/E finally gets a payout bonus.

Tried some of the races. Average at best attempts to sell more weaponized memes.

 

No new vehicles, R* rubbing salt in after the tunable monkeys f*ck up.

I found the tracks for the most part to be pretty cool. Somehow they made some relatively slow vehicles appear to have a sense of speed.

 

The laps are much too long, however, similar to the transform races.

 

And as always, the consistency of checkpoints in terms of proximity remains maddening.

I played a few of the new races well it is great to get 56K and 16000 RP for playing around 7 minutes if you win with 15 enemies some left the game not sure if that matters. But yeah after i won this one race the host decided to deactivate custom vehicles and i left the lobby. Then i tried to find a new one and always ended up with poor ppl who do not own the 3 vehicles needed for the races, of course they deactivated the custom vehicles too. Then i just stopped playing. Not gonna drive around in slow unupgraded vehicles f*ck this it is always the same...

I liked the new races but during the Jetpack ones, there was a lot of quitters because they didn't know how to fly the damn thing.

Finally some races! This game is so starved of races, aside from the 500+ that we have already of course.

 

Deluxo converts automatically, others don't? Inconsistent and noob friendly. Some of the checkpoints are badly placed.

 

Nice stromberg homage payed to the bond film when he exits the water onto the beach though.

Nope.......... Don't like these Special Vehicle races, I would much rather continue using these SV for missions.

They can take these races and shove them right back up their a$$!

The hotring races were only boring, but these races are boring AND broken. I get the prompt to turn to hovermode and press the button, nothing happens. I do it again. Nothing happens. I stood there for nearly 20 f*cking seconds pressing that f*cking button over and over again without it doing anything before I quit.

If you don't own the vehicle and have it upgraded, well tough luck buddy, you wont reach the finish line with less than +1 minute.

No a single one of these racetracks feels good. They are a mashup of props wich dont fit together and create no actuall flow. The stromberg races are the worst here because there a trackparts (under water) where you can see jack sh*t wich causes you to crash and have no idea where you have to go.

None of the vehicles used has a good race handling. They deluxo amd stromberg are very shluggish in their special drive mode, when you turn its like you are driving on ice. I have no idea how you are supposed to do that 180 turn around a tube in one of the thruster races, without crashing into the freaking wall.

 

 

All in all, these races feel like R* has taken the worst parts of racing, mixed them together and dumped them in front of us.

I know they want to use these races to promote the vehicles used bt in my case they failed miserably.

I wanted to buy a thruster, but after using it in these races I no longer want to buy one.

You guys noticed the Shark Card ads on the checkpoints? I had to laugh real loud. Especially in the Deluxo races this car is so expensive and you need to own one to win the races if custom vehicles are enabled for it. You wanna win buy a Shark Card.

I'll look at it from a positive point... This week is gonna be super cheap for me.. I already own a Deluxo, Stromberg and Thruster and I hardly use any of those.

 

Wrt new races. I gave the hotring races a go a few weeks ago: Bumpfest from start to finish, people bumping you offtrack, when you proved to be a non-bumper during several previous occasions in the race, Always custom vehicules off...

 

I'm not doing any GTA-races anytime soon... Too much of high bloodpressure inducing BS going on for my taste. So now we get a few more... Well, I'll pass...

Perhaps a ruiner 2K race... Those are entertaining...

 

Really looking forward to the Dominator GTX and the new super, but now I have another week to grind a lil... But I'm shifting my attention this week towards seeing my son play Fortnite. Much more entertaining for me than grinding for cars. Overall, I'm disappointed in this week, but ok... Can't have it all...

For a player who has everything, this week is pure garbage. I bought all of the worthy vehicles from Doomsday in the next 48 hours it was released as soon as I unlocked trade prices. If you were waiting for a discounts, enjoy, the time is now.

 

Advice here: don't go for Deluxo, get a Stromberg and Thruster: one can survive 5 homing missiles and fires almost ruiner 2k-classs missiles while another is best described as a pocket Buzzard, especially with a control trick. Deluxo is slow, skip it if you're not a collector or going for the looks.

 

Somehow, I can't understand, why R* skipped new cars another week in a row. I will never touch a "race" in GTA, because I have amazing mates to play Dirt rally rally-cross mode with or Project Cars 2. So these "races" are not for me.

Tried one of the new races. Just one. It was rubbish.

 

More random props floating in the air mixed with random pieces of track.

 

Checkpoints so large they get in the way of being able to see where to go.

 

Even though I messed up on the first lap, I still won by a country mile.

 

32k was a nice payday for two laps. But then we got stuck in the clouds.
