NEW SPECIAL VEHICLE CIRCUIT RACES

You might think you’ve mastered every concept car and experimental prototype the showrooms of Los Santos have to offer. But the truth is that in the fine art of hovercar, jetpack, and submersible racing there’s only one way to turn pro. Beat the best in this new batch of fiendish Special Vehicle Circuit Races for the Imponte Deluxo, Ocelot Stromberg & Mammoth Thruster, and you’ll have nothing left to prove.

Here's a rundown of all the new Special Vehicle Circuit Races now available to play through the dedicated button on your boot screen, or bookmark your favorites using the Social Club links below for quick and easy access:

IMPONTE DELUXO RACES

Stadium Flyover: The whole stadium is on its feet waiting for the all-American finale: a low-level flyover by levitating sports cars.

Raton Race: Raton Canyon is the kind of rugged terrain that makes any red-blooded adrenaline junkie reach for their climbing boots— or the keys to their flying car.

Cresting: Whether you're driving, surfing the waves, soaring above the mountains, or doing all the above in your Deluxo - there's nothing quite like the San Andreas coastline.

Techno: This is no edible-fueled night in Los Santos - when your car takes off and starts flying, that's every bit as real as the psychedelic tunnels and rings of fire.

OCELOT STROMBERG RACES

Spindrift: As an underwater labyrinth strewn with naval mines gradually reveals itself, try to remember that every moment of paralyzed terror is a moment off your lap time.

The Kraken: Fair warning. If you've ever had bad calamari, this one is probably not for you.

Plunge: Every pro racer knows to keep a finger on submersible mode when there's suddenly no more track and you're soaring into the stratosphere with only the ocean as your landing pad.

MAMMOTH THRUSTER RACES

Vinewood Air Tours: Welcome to the high life— the neon glow of the city, the Vinewood sign shining from the hills, 1,000 pounds of thrust roaring at your back and the prospect of horrifying mid-air collisions.

Chiliad Drop: One minute you're soaring over the summit of Mount Chiliad, the next you're strafing into a cliff with only some rocket fuel and the promise of bragging rights to cushion the blow.

FlyLo Challenge: The survival rate in a Los Santos road tunnel at rush hour could only get lower if road-raging maniacs ditched their cars and used jetpacks instead. But that would never happen.

I think these sound pretty intriguing in particular the Stromberg races as we've never had underwater racing before. Hopefully they will be decent enough as a novelty kind of mode. Happy to see the Deluxo and Thruster discounted as I haven't bought those yet but will be needing them now for these new races.

Pass. But the Stromberg and Dexluo are good investments.

I'm trying hard to reign in my scepticism here, but these new races are mostly a marketing tactic to re-ignite interest in Rockstar's new range of wacky vehicles.

I doubt much skill will be needed for these races, but it's always good to have 2x payouts on any type or racing event, and some of the Ruiner 2000 races are quite good, plus you'll get a performance boost by owning any of these vehicles in their respective races, plus the 25% purchase price discount is pretty decent for people who want specific vehicles.

More Deluxo's is not good though. Freemode is (becoming) a bit cheesy.

The fact the newswire post didn't mention anything about the upcoming week makes me worry that maybe the cars won't be released then. I don't know, that's pure pessimistic speculation, but I could see them doing it.

They didn't mention them because no new content is arriving with it

They only do that when a new adversary mode or race mode/new races are coming with the cars.

Wait, it automatically does the transformations for you, and doesn't let you manually control them.... WTF. Keep handholding R*.

EDIT: Ok, only the Deluxo races do it, Stromberg is still manual. Thankfully.

Even with that, races are gonna be easy money the next week or two.

Thruster purchased. It is quite interesting to fly I have to say.

Where do I start? I already knew what I was letting myself in for but I just had to take a look ...

For a start I don't want any of these discounts, I have all I need and DO NOT need an overpriced piece of garbage like the Stromberg as I DO NOT need to go underwater for any reason at all. I have the Deluxo, it has been gathering dust since the day I bought it as has my Thruster.

So I tried 1 race each of Deluxo, Stromberg and Thruster - JUST WHAT IS THIS GARBAGE? Reohashed races full of retards yet again.

Seriously, as a big GTA fan even R* seem to have given up - if I was told the plug was being pulled tomorrow I seriously wouldn't care. Unless the next big DLC is something new that will keep me interested a while longer I can see me giving up on this game altogether. My $78m is sitting there if I need it (which for a long time it seems I won't need it) - until then, the odd log on and doss around in between other games more worthy of my time

A bit OTT don't you think, although I agree this is shameless marketing filler to promote vehicles memes to people with burning disposable income holes in their pockets.

But you're wrong about the Stromberg. It's a surprisingly good go-to vehicle in the day and age of open freemode war. It drives really well as a road vehicle, can take a few rocket hits, and has super-lock-on missiles. It's a surprisingly powerful and useful anti-griefing / attack / defence vehicle, and you won't even care that it can be used in water (a bonus).

AgentPlum in R*s defense. What other game has seriously kept your attention for five years straight?

Let's be serious.. We are pretty much in a abusive relationship with them. They get our hopes up, slap us around, open our eyes to exciting experiences, then once we get comfortable and start getting our hopes up again. They gotta put the pimp hand down. Saying things like "Try hards better have my shark card money"

I just don't want to get hurt :(

Yeah the deluxo seems to transform for you, unless you're heading towards a big wall hehe. I need to get hold of the transformations with the Stromberg, the button doesn't really respond well, or does it really have to do with timing?

Anyways both cars drive fine, deluxo has nice oversteering, I really dig that and racing with the Thruster is awesome!

Kudos for R*!

I'm disappointed that they're extending the drip feed even more(though it's not like it wasn't expected given R*). I'll likely be buying a Deluxo though, as I've been wanting one since it came out, but the base price is absurd(at least for me who doesn't want any weapons on it and doesn't care whether it flies or not).

New races are crap. I'll give the old Ruiner 2000 races a try instead, I've ignored them for long enough.

It's just a shame you can't use the Stromberg in SP.... where marine life actually spawns.

If we got a Naval update, the Stromberg would be so much more useful. Not that it's not great, the water capability is entirely useless unless you're trolling tryhards
