Thunderhead
Hey folks. I've got a little something in the works that I've thought about for a while. Being a massive SA fanatic and a complete gearhead, some of the game's models for things like engines I found underwhelming. So much that I've taken the matter in hand and started making new, better and varied engine models to slap in basically any 3D era vehicle while not looking completely out of place. So far, I've done 14 models and I've just finished mapping/texturing one of them. Here's a handful of pics. I'm still new to modelling and texturing so if anyone has advice I'd greatly appreciate it. I use Blender and GIMP. Thanks! EDIT: Here's the download link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/k5wsm6hjkyavsp7/engines.obj?dl=0 Feel free to post any pics with them included in your projects and send me links to your mods that use it! Only reupload if I give you permission. Edited September 23, 2018 by Thunderhead Updated links The Implex, Jago, deltaCJ and 8 others
Thunderhead
Little update: I've made other engines for some of Crack Yo Neck's cars, including the flat 6 turbo and flat 4. Here's also a little preview for one of my upcoming mods, showing the engine basically finished into a model. okofficer1111
I use Zmodeler, oh well, what are the texture for them?
Thunderhead
I've changed them and removed the texture since it was a hack job from when I didnt fully understand how that stuff worked. Here's a new version that's lighter and loads faster. https://www.dropbox.com/s/k5wsm6hjkyavsp7/engines.obj?dl=0 I just map them with the standard vehiclegeneric texture, it works well enough for me. okofficer1111
Not working. I mapped with vehiclegeneric256.
Thunderhead
They arent mapped, I gave it a go before but hadnt understood how it works. Up to you to map them although I'm prolly gonna do it soon myself tbh.
okofficer1111
Yes i dont have enough skill in Zmodeler for this :(... The models are looking neat, thought, how did you get that texture from the blue engine?
Thunderhead
I modified it myself but as stated I dont know how to properly include custom textures in engines for now, hence why I use the vanilla SA ones. But I'll make sure to link the proper textures once they're good to go. I'm gonna texture the engines later today so keep an eye out for that. Thunderhead
Yeet, big update on this sh*t! I have simplified a lot of it and mapped every engine and peripherals so that way you can take anything and squeeze it, stretch it, flatten it, etc to fit your needs! feel free to adapt as you see fit of course, these werent made on any particular scale so there's no issue with you modifying them. Updated link and screens in the OP. DingoPachinko
