is this john next to arthur?

5834b2eaa95b6f626389ade535a324b1.png

Im also pretty sure John is the guy at the 1:40 mark with the gun pointed to his head and Arthur looking at him like he's sorry.

I've re-watched the trailer looking at the technical aspects.

As I predicted previously, the game received a pretty severe downgrade since Trailer #1.

While I applaud Rockstar for using what seems to be entirely in-game footage in this trailer, it's somewhat depressing.

- Drastically diminished particle FX (fire, smoke, debris)

- Environmental FX removed (e.g.: mud trail following wagon)

- Drastically reduced foliage

- Volumetric FX reduced on train engine plumes

- Static skyboxes

They're using some smoke and fog and fly over birds in many of the frames to obscure draw distances and create the illusion of a more dense frame.

This game is probably two months away from full-on testing so I'm not anticipating too many changes. We saw some crisper textures and minor character changes when GTA V was sweetened up but that's about it from what I can recall.

It looks pretty damn good for an open world game. But a PS5 re-release down the road would be nice.

Not only John Marston was confirmed, the whole gang was. Blackwater confirmed as expected. And not only we get to see reference to the history between Dutch and his gang, but also have a whole storyline dedicated to it. This is definitely the most proper look into the game. From the storyline description it looks like we shall have a long Single Player. I knew that Rockstar wouldn't be done with heists, so here we are. Maybe we shall even get to see how Marston got those facial scars in first place. The graphics look better as compared to the previous trailers for sure.

Yeah looks like him, but younger.

I noticed that they changed Native's haircut from undercut to long hair

I really liked the trailer. It was pretty much what I expected it to be as far as giving a little more detail into the story.

I don't know what people are talking about when they say it looks "dumbed down". The lighting and particle effects looked as good as ever and we didn't really get any of those close up face shots we got from the last one so of course it's gonna look less detailed.

Kinda funny to see the physics haters popping up again. Still don't get how people think GTA V is "dumbed down" compared to IV and RDR. Just from the one shot of the guy getting thrown from the wagon you can clearly see that characters seem to have a much more realistic weight to them than Redemption.

Yeah, I think it all looks pretty damn good. Just hoping this all covers the very early portions of the story and the gang breaks up pretty damn quick, leaving us with a more original story for the bulk of the game.

Loved it!

Oh my lawd am I hyped as sh*t!

I'm pretty sure i saw Blackwater at the part where that guy gets tackled, Dutch had pigtails, and Mr. John Marston had freshly stitched cuts on his mother f*cking face as well as had a knife up against him. I'm pretty sure we'll be witnessing the train robbery gone wrong where Marston gets left for dead, as we all know. The train in the beginning has to be that. My gut is telling me that it is! f*cking hell time for another RDR playthrough!!!

What if you play as John in the end?

I think we will, and I think those two will come to a head well if it contains a failed train robery, its safe to assume we wont play as marston.

The graphics are still amazing. All i can hope for from that point on is a good online mode with all open interiors. That would be awesome.

I'm loving the implication that the story kicks off with the Blackwater Massacre that was discussed in the last game. What a cool callback.

Welp, that sure was a trailer. I was hoping for some RDR Online details more than anything tbqh. Still looking forward to single player as well but I prefer going into that with as little foreknowledge as possible.

A Nickname For All

Game's set in 1899 and the gang's betrayal to Marston was in 1906.

Interesting point to speculate if the game's plot goes or not through several years.

Well to be honest having a proper look, theirs still volumetric FX going on with the smoke and steam but not as much, I think what we are seeing here is probably PS4 Pro footage since its coming closer and closer to release. Just like GTA V when more and more trailers where released. Hopefuly unlike RDR I hope RDR2 gets released eventually to PC, they did a great port to PC for GTA V (increasing foliage, fx, textures, etc...) it would a shame to not do that for RDR2.

Story predictions:

In my opinion, there seems to be two gangs in play here.

America, 1899. The end of the wild west era has begun as lawmen hunt down the last remaining outlaw gangs. Those

who will not surrender or succumb are killed.

Notice it says "gangs", plural. Not gang, singular.

In Trailer #3, there are two groups of people:

- The ones that know Dutch

- The ones that don't know Dutch

UwAGNED.png

The campfire story shows the initial gang. One of the guys knows Dutch, tells the others. Let's call him Old Guy.

It is likely that Dutch is something of an outlaw hero or a myth.

The rest of the people eventually meet Dutch, join a super posse, and that posse falls apart.

DHG9Rix.jpg

In Trailer #3 we see a big group of players. This includes the 7 main gang members that we've come to know and love. I think the blonde woman is Heidi McCourt. We all know how that one turned out.

There are an awful lot of red heads in these trailers and I don't think that's coincidence.

oYDE1AA.jpg

In Trailer #2, we see Arthur beating up a redheaded man and again in Trailer #3.

I think the Old Guy who is Dutch's old friend is screwing Dutch over and joining the Ginger Gang, leading to a faux-invasion in New Bordeaux which is really just a ploy to kill Old Guy and the Ginger Gang. Kill or be killed.

dswhtlO.png

Here, Arthur is killing Old Guy after burning down the Ginger Gang's mansion.

Dutch: "You have my back?"

Arthur: "Always".

"They will not crush us"

I think were about to get a female protagonists. I believe were gonna get 3 altogether same as gta. I think well get John, Arthur and the women. It would be somewhat predictable but with one being female it would throw a new loop to it.

"It is likely that Dutch is something of an outlaw hero or a myth"
He is Jesse James of Red Dead Universe. They were probably inspired by "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" movie which was brilliant.

Maybe he decided to go all Max Payne and cut his hair to give himself a new persona and avoid any federal trouble. He could be one of the gang's associate.

Also, is this supposed to be a cutscene or side leisure activity? Would be nice to have this as leisure activity.
