What happens if you quit after you win?

Just curious if anyone could clarify for me what happens if you win a race and then instead of spectating the other players and sticking around for the parts where you receive the RP/ do celebration etc you just quit as soon as you finish? Does this still count as a win on your stats or would it go down as a loss? Presumably even if it does still count as a win you don't collect the cash and RP? In the event that it doesn't count as a win does the person that finishes second then get declared the winner or does everyone just see a loser screen at the end with their character standing still?

 

I ask as I've seen the odd one or two people quitting after they win a race instead of waiting around for it to properly end so if it still counts as a win I was thinking i could try it myself maybe in parachuting. Sometimes it feels like you are waiting around for ever to people to finish in parachuting if they are going really slow holding the shoulder buttons the whole way.

Pretty sure it doesn't count, when you try to back out of the spectating screen you get an alert screen that looks the same as the one you get for backing out normally.

Okay thanks. Doesn't sound like it would be a good idea then to avoid the spectating. Not worth it if the win doesn't count or you don't get any RP/cash. Sounds like it might even count as a loss on your stats.
