Are you sure? I’ve heard YouTube channels, in fact the second YouTube link, that girl said it was so. You’re sure the character creation are exactly identical? I believe the forums more than a YouTube channel, all she wants is views.

The PS4 and Xbox One versions are the same. But the graphics vary, such as their nail color, if you look closely. I would also like to share the difference between the 2013 and 2018 versions of creating your Online Protagonist.

Old Gen Character Creation and Next Gen Character Creation are different.

In the old gen, your character's appearance consists of the heritage of your parents from their respective grandparents and your resemblance to one them along with your mom's and dad's. The eye color is determined by different parents; your character can have blue, green and dark brown eyes depending on the parents you chose.

Your character's outfit is determined on certain activities: how much time they spend sleeping, socializing, partying, working out, lounging in the couch, doing legal and illegal work.

Lastly, your character's age must be between 21 and 40, and the older your character is, the more wrinkles will appear on their face.

In the next gen, it's different. The grandparents and parents resemblance has been replaced with 46 different parents; 22 fathers and 22 mothers to choose from. You can choose which one of them resembles your character and whose skin tone influences your character the most. You can then change their face structure, but you can only do changes to the height of the brows and nose, the thickness of their lips, their chin height and width, etc.

Appearance has changed completely, and despite being able to choose 5 hair colors before (along with dark brown for guys, which is default on facial hair, and red hair for gals, along with their makeup being merged with their cosmetics used and their eyebrow type), you can now choose 28 of them, with the rest coming later after finishing creating your character. You can even have your eyebrows or facial hair match the hair color you picked. There are only fewer hairstyles available to choose from, however, but you can also add face details to your character, such as skin complexion, moles, freckles, skin aging, etc. The makeup has also separated in this version, meaning you can mix and match different looks for good results. You can also pick any eye color of your preference along with the eyebrows as well.

Lastly, your outfit is divided into the following categories: Casual, Beach, Eccentric, Flashy, Party, Street, Sporty and Smart. Each category includes 8 outfits to choose from. The activities mentioned earlier are replaced with stats that you get to pick for yourself. The age mechanic is also excluded from this version, meaning that your character doesn't have to be between 21 to 40 years old anymore. For me, their age range has changed to at least 18 and over (it's not confirmed by R*, though. But that's just a thought from my head), unless you decide how old you want your GTA Online character to be, since you can now make characters that exceed the age of 40, such as characters of retirement age with graying on their hair, or even an elder.

Those are the differences between the character creator of the old gen and the next gen.
