Lockharte
Hi, guys. As somebody know, Russians also have DYOM community. We have 4 groups in VKontakte social network. You can ask your questions in this topic. Because, you know, I thought that Americans would like to know, what happens in Russian community. spyderblack66

Platinum Card
How would you compare the effort and thought put into mission/storypacks of the Russian dyom community as to that of the gtaforums dyom community? When I began there were guys like Jimmy Leopard, Jackal, Matatatta, LnD, etc that created elaborate story based missions that took time to develop. A lot like BK90s, who I have a lot of respect for. Who are the innovators in the Russian DYOM community?
Satourn
Who are the innovators in the Russian DYOM community? Santal and Tandem Untitled, for sure. they broke the boundaries of your common storytelling and designing to bring some of the best projects to the community, while also recognizing the fact that you don't need umpteen missions to tell a story - most of Santal's mission packs, for example, have less than 8 missions in them. also, the themes in their missions are very well thought out, and the stories they tell are insane (in a good way) if you look at something a bit more grounded, Altermann should be among those names, at least for me. his projects are thrilling and exciting, and he almost singlehandedly gave a second life to the action genre which has been plagued by amateurs for years Several other people brought new ideas to the table, like 'quick-time events' or efficient use of scripts in their missions Platinum Card
Platinum Card
I've always enjoyed Santal missions that you translated. I felt like he possessed a unique form of story telling. I think I'll check out work from Tandem.

Platinum Card
SatournFan is it possible that we will see more missions/storyline translations from designers like Santal and others from the Russian dyom. I've seen that there are a few collaborations that he's had with some others.

I did want to translate 'Squidward's Suicide' which is a very surreal experience, but the guy who made it, TheCrazyGamer, apparently decided to do it himself. That is, of course, if there will be any demand. I know you're keen on seeing something new, considering your constant support and feedback etc., but overall there was not much discussion in the respective topics I created. Platinum Card
I've decided to give TheCrazyGamer's 'Squidward's Suicide' a shot. It's interesting enough from the title alone. I've also got a hold of an untranslated version of "Pasha?" a collaboration project. I'm always up for writing reviews if it helps.

I'm waiting on the next translated project to come about. I tried learning the language before to translate missions myself but found it being much bigger an undertaking that I could handle at the time. It's very possible that I can translate a couple of projects for you. Write me some kind of mission list on your liking. Platinum Card
I just found something that's going to help me translate missions from Russian to English. It takes time but so far I've done the intro and first mission of Diary by Santal. Mostly using notepad++ russian letters that I can translate with google. Thanks, well I was mostly doing a rough translation so that I could play them myself haha but when I finish the translations I could share with you for feedback. I've found some of the terms when translated to English to sound a bit odd. If I had permission from Santal I'd go on to share with everyone here. Platinum Card
I'm going to post an updated edit of Episode 1 and the newly translated version of Episode 2 of K y p L bl k a's The Council tonight...or earlier in the week. I feel it's probably better uploading them both as they tend to coincide with each other.
