NOTE: Please read before voting.

As we all know, there are many Adversary Modes available to play in GTA Online. Some are well executed, some are average and some are just plain rubbish. Before I begin, the title question does not refer to the actual Adversary Mode you prefer (i.e: Deadline). It is referring to a specific type of Adversary Mode. Let me explain (don't worry, its not complicated!).

I'm going to split the Adversary Modes into two types:

Full Offensive: This is where during the Adversary Mode, the kill is counted by a player ("littleuglyman killed biguglyman" for example). Its essentially when engaged in combat and regardless of the weapon/vehicle used, it will count as a kill for the player. Examples would be Entourage, Slasher, Power Play, Land Grab, etc.

Mild Offensive: This is where the players make contact, but kills are not counted towards players. Instead, counts as a standard death ("giantbeanstalk77 died" for example). Some examples would be Sumo, The Vespucci Job, Overtime Rumble, etc.

So the general idea of this thread and small poll is to see what type of Adversary Mode the communty prefers based on the information I wrote above :)

Hopefully I explained it good enough! Look forward to reading :)

A bit of both really but mostly full offensive (Entourage, Power Play, Slasher and Extraction are some of my absolute favorites). I like some mild offense ones too and feel like these are the ones mostly favored by the community (Overtime Rumble and Vespucci Job are both BIG winners).

It depends, some are much better than others whilst they fall under different classes. For example, I find Deadline, Overtime Rumble, Vehicle Vendetta, Come Out to Play, Slashers (standard only, the beasts vs slashers was overkill), Power Play, Hasta la Vista, Hunting Pack and The Vespucci Job to be the most enjoyable game modes. I guess it would be simpler to say that I enjoy both.

I like both, depending if they're quite fun and easy to win.

Full Offensive, the ones like Hard Target, Motor Wars, Occupy and Slashers.

Despite not being a PvP tryhard or spent most of my time in free roam battles, I find it easy to go positive K/D with knowledge of weapons, strategies, tactics and surrounding.

Mild Offensive, I've only really played Vespucci Job which seems easy and funny at first, while Double 2x RP and $.

Some of 'em like Target Assault and possibly others, I haven't really touched yet since they don't seem to appeal much.

I'm not much of a racing person either.

I prefer ones without weaponized vehicles, unless you count TRON cause of that laser thingy. I LOVE Deadline... it just gets too boring when you get actual good players so the matches last forever until one of you give up or mess up.

The ones involving Aircraft are pure aids though. I hope we never get anymore

I prefer mild offensive :D

Like we've been having lately

also they can make a survival/adv mode where we split into 2-4 teams and we have to kill some enemies like in survival but this time the teams with most kills wins based by points like in deathmatch

basically a PvP/E kind of survival with the enemies riding insurgent nightshark or even buzzards destroying the vehicle can get you 100 points or whatever, every kill counts

I actually like a little bit of both , but with a little preference for mild offensive AMs like sumo ... I´m bad at PvP , that´s why I like mild ones, especially with vehicles (vehicle vendetta, land grab etc... )

Selected weapons + strategy (e.g. Entourage: the best Adversary mode)

*Sumo needed an update with new maps similar to MTA SA.

Mild.

There's deathmatches and LTS's galore. These Adversary Modes are a wasted opportunity that only gets worse to see when something good like this latest one or the car darts one, even Deadline and such feels like a proper Adv. Mode. I feel there should be more fun things like that.

Anything that involves cars but no weapons is the most fun imo.

This is why Sumo is the only Adversary Mode I like.

It is not a glorified deathmatch, and it still has a simple yet competitive premise that just makes it fun.

Well, if we have to be honest, that's what I would vote for with no hesitation.

Chosen "mild offensive", since I absolutely hate mindless PvP, with passion. Competitive modes without killing per se are something I can tolerate, and sometimes even enjoy, but I generally look for PvE co-op experience exclusively, preferably with some story.

I like pvp on foot combat based adversary modes. Examples of some that I've really liked are Collection Time, Land Grab, Hardest Target, Inch by Inch, In and Out and others of that ilk. I do not like most of the adversary modes that feature vehicle based combat such as Deadline or Dogfight. The rest of them as in the more friendly based ones that don't involve killing are a mixed bag for me. Some I like such as Offense Defense, Keep the Pace, Vespucci Job and Overtime Rumble but others like Sumo I don't care for.

On a side note I want to say that I really love many of the adversary modes for pvp and for me they are streets ahead of the older pvp jobs like deathmatches and LTS. Though they get a bad rap I think adversary modes have been a fantastic addition to GTA online. They can be a mixed bag as I said but when Rockstar get it right I think they can be the most enjoyable thing in the whole game to get involved with.

My all time favourite adversary mode has to be Juggernaut. Go ahead and judge me, I don't give a sh*t

I also enjoy Deadline, Overtime Rumble, and Sumo among others.

Haven't found a crew for Vespucci Job yet, so hmu if you're on PS4 and want to play.

Also up for trying Target Assault and a couple other full offensive AMs.

I like the ones with cool outfits I can glitch&save.

barely ever play them ever since they cut the payout per round in half.

eh I tolerate the bunker modes when its "double" money. trading places/resurrection/kill quota.

I don't play Adversary Modes. Only now The Vespucci Job because is fun and x2.

I like the kind that involves cars and doesn't involve guns and shooting.

Vespucci is fun, hunting pack and offense defense even more so, sumo and tiny racers can be fun too.

Shooting could be fun too if not for cheaters and laggy people.

I stopped playing Adversary Modes when Deadline all but disappeared.

Nothing else has lured me in since.

I don't play them very often but one I enjoyed during CoTC Season 2 was the one where you run around killing and changing colours of tiles. Forget the name but you wore deadline suits.

Most of the AMs I've ended up liking have been vehicle-based, usually ones without normal weaponized vehicles, with or without weapon powerups.

Some examples would be Deadline, Hasta La Vista, Vespucci Job, Sumo, Stockpile, and Turf Wars.

Worth noting though that I had to read through the whole list again to remember half of the modes I had had liked and what they were called.
