Being the Beast: the eternal quest

If the probability of becoming a beast is normal, I have a bad news. But with R* it's impossible to say, I won't be surprised that they have used some shortcuts and the process is flawed. In a crew public sessions I haven't seen a single beast event in half a year or even more. Even thought it's disabled.

Somehow when I'm in a session with a mate it seems to be one of us more often than not, but that could just be random.

 

Also, when you are Beast, make sure you kick a few cars =)

In my experience, being a good distance away from other players and not in a car, and not in combat, seems to net me the Beast whenever I ask for it.

My main problem with it now is that whenever I am selected to be the Beast, it loads me out of the lobby, back into singleplayer, deletes my autosave, and loads me directly into the prologue in the span of one short loading screen.

That happened to me once, I was in a Deluxo while I got the notification that Hunt The Beast was going to start shortly, I hit the d-pad to qualify, I got out from my Deluxo, the countdown finished, I saw a bright light and then the game sent me all the way to 2004.

 

I didn't knew that the Deluxo could actually travel back in time.

Not gonna lie, this is one of the main things I miss about it. Every time I've been the Beast, I spent the first three minutes just punching and kicking cars like a lunatic.

waiting till the timer has only 1 second (or even half a second) left before i press right on d-pad to participate have always worked for me. 8 out of 10 times i will be the beast unless there are low levels around.

 

This was something I read a long time ago, but I've tried it a number of times and it has never worked for me. And the few times I was the Beast, I registered normally, not waiting at all. So I don't know.

My private hell is all the times I have seen someone as the beast, and they have always ignored my text asking if they would take a selfie with my character.

It's the opposite of the OP for me... I've been the beast a lot of times to the point I'm almost surprised when I don't become the beast... No idea what triggers this, only thing is my 2 carachters are high levels (700+) but it started way earlier. No difference in full populated lobbies or not. Maybe just pure hasard or luke...

 

I should start sending texts to players to know if they want a selfie with the beast, might be funny !

I'm thinking mental state might have something to do with it. I've become the beast with a low mental state most of the time I can recall. I don't remember being selected when I was a red blip.

lmao Nutduster, the first time I joined a session when freemode events released I became the Beast in like 20 seconds of starting up the game. Just tap the d-pad. If you are so religiously hellbent on becoming the Beast, then just hit the d-pad, and if you don't become the Beast, simply swap sessions and wait for it to appear again.

 

Or you could simply do the Inferno transform race, where you can play as the Beast for the sake of the race.. but whatever.

This is easy, just throw your hat in the ring and stay outdoors during the "pick" process. Most players don't give a sh*t so they won't try to join.

 

you can call for personal vehicles during your time as the beast, If I decide to be on the ground, Nightshark. In the air buzzard, since it fits in tight spaces.

 

 

 

Oh and if you are the beast, don't be like this guy and try to headbutt the insurgent chasing you and run over his landmines:

Interesting theory. I spend a lot of time killing people, maybe I'll lay off for a week or two and see if it makes a difference.

Or you could simply do the Inferno transform race, where you can play as the Beast for the sake of the race.. but whatever.

 

What kind of response is this? I just said I've registered for this event at least a hundred times in a row without success. I can sit around switching sessions like a manic just to get more chances, but mainly I'm just trying to understand if there's some variable I can control, because clearly I should have been selected by now if the chances were truly random. Other people are saying they get selected almost every time, or every other - that can't just be random fluctuation.

 

The transform race, or any adversary mode with a Beast in it, is not what I'm looking for. I like the actual free roam event.

I agree with you that probably a good portion of players aren't even registering, which makes this even more baffling to me that I can never seem to get picked. You'd think based on a little quick math that my chances every time are probably 10% or so on average - I should get picked once every few weeks at minimum, not "never for almost 2 years."

I'll try it again, but I've done this so many times without success. I'm on a real mission now, it's really starting to annoy me.

I've only encountered the event maybe five times, never signed up, and once the event didn't even go off because no one wanted to be the beast

I too rarely get chosen to be the Beast, whether I register or not.

But the other day I was hovering in my Akula, waiting to bomb the Beast and my screen started to change colors and freak out.

I thought "Oh great.....another hacker attack!"

Wrong. It's been so long since I was the Beast I forgot the sequence.

I was teleported out of my Akula down to the ground and became the Beast.

I didn't know this could happen from inside aircraft!

At least I won this one!

I did. Maybe XB1 has a lower percentage of players that want to be the beast. 90% of the time I don't care about hunt the beast. I've tried to be the beast a total of 4 times and have gotten it 3 times, once when I didn't even ask to be the beast, I just got selected out of the group.

It's an inconsistent game. The only thing Rockstar can reliably patch is dupes. Friends of mine are still dealing with the same crew emblem bug that's been going around since 2013.

They often unpatch glitches, though. Like dupe glitches.

When hunting the beast (normally in a helicopter) once I sight a blip I always keep an eye on the roads below for a car being driven like, well like everyone drives in GTA. Traffic lights and lampposts falling down, pedestrians running in terror, cars swerving, that sort of thing. Stands out a mile!

I’ve had medium luck at Beastage

 

I use the Thruster for beastplay. It’s fun to just shoot straight up in the air after a checkpoint. Players then approach your map icon and then run around looking for you.

Inspired by this thread I volunteered to be the Beast for the first time ever and yes, got chose first time. I don't have many tips to offer. I landed my helicopter on top of the Central Los Santos Medical Center so I would be in with a chance if that helps. When I was chosen I dialled up my mechanic for deliver of my Insurgent. Apparently he can speak fluent werewolf and has no problems delivering it to a large hairy lycanthrope with a machine gun.
