i know R* firmly stated they didn't want 'come backs' once. i'm also pretty sure Niko charism has gone way beyond what R* expected. and maybe somehow it has traumatized R* in a way that they were scared that Niko could become an unavoidable piece of the game. when i see V characters, how insipid, and sometimes even stupid they look, i wonder if it hadn't been made on purpose so that players don't feel any sympathy for the characters. what do you think. would you like to see Niko back again, and be able to use him as a character. i don't know for you, but i miss my buddy a lot larmes1.gif

small but important edit: in my mind protagonist meant playable character. i want the full man, not a half Niko. (moderation has now modified)

No. f*ck that guy, he already had his own game and he smelled like tonsils.

Why? I like both GTA IV and Niko, but I don't think it's a good idea to make a character that has already been a protagonist a playable character again.

No. What would be the point if story of his life came to the conclusion, and he realied that vengeance leads nowhere? Furthermore, his appearance would undeniably have to answer what happened to Roman during the end of GTA IV and possibly, if his child is a boy or a girl.

R* left couple of open doors and what-if scenarios, once of them being directly related to Packie, who appeared in GTA V as a very minor and irrelevant character, who doesn't share his backstory. Or should I say, one of his possible backstories. Even if R* decided to kill off Roman post GTA IV, to give Niko new motivation in the new game, it'd only ruin GTA IV's endings - after all, if Roman dies either way, what would be a point of saving him (I mean, "unknowingly" choosing a path leading to his survival)?

Honestly, I would either see Niko showing up as a prominent side character, or not at all. Reusing the samep rotagonist if pointless, since as I said, his arc was closed, and utilizing him in just one cutscene or mission, like Johnny Klebitz in GTA V and Tommy Angelo in Mafia II, serves no story purpose whatsoever.

Like pretty much every other protagonist, his story is complete so no need for him to be in the next GTA as a playable character.

Raj The Rager

No, he already had his story. Maybe he could return as a supporting character in the new one, but there wouldn't be no point to play as him again.

all these posts saying they don't want Niko, make me sad. you don't imagine how this makes me sad. Niko is the boss, and will always be. a GTA without Niko doesn't have the same taste

Maybe as an unlockable side character with a side story, now that would be cool. There'll be plenty of returning characters in VI I'm sure.

Michael Hollick, Niko Bellic's voice actor had some sort of disagreement with Rockstar where he feels he was injusticed with the amount he got paid, so I doubt he'd like to do more work with Rockstar. Also, no GTA Character was a protagonist twice (Claude is debatable), so I don't see why Niko should be. As for a minor character, maybe just as some Easter Egg.

I voted other. If by playable he was a sort of extra addition such as the characters in the Episodes of Liberty City DLCs then by all means we could bring him over. As the main character in the main game? I think id rather have another new character fill that role.

As much as I like Niko and how much I enjoyed playing as him in IV, I don't want to see him again. He got his game and his story is pretty much complete with open ending for the players to interpret. We don't really need R* to ruin him in some cheap way to establish another character like it was done with Johnny Klebitz.

None of the cameos of IV characters in V was well done imo, thus I prefer to leave past characters alone and let them die in peace.

Michael Hollick doesn't own the character though. Rockstar does If Rockstar wanted they could bring in a new voice actor to replace him. They've done it before in GTA 3 and LCS Donald Love and Toni are played by different actors. Edited by Zello

No

Niko had an entire game to himself, and anybody who had it out for him is currently dead. There's literally no reason for his story to continue, let him live a happy life with cousin Roman. I wouldn't mind a cameo of him and Roman in Vice City though, even if it's just something as small as the taxi missions in V where the main character picks them up and takes them to the airport to go back to LS

I liked Niko a lot and still do. He certainly was one of my most enjoyable and memorable GTA protagonists. But my answer is no.

He had his time and his scenario, his story is complete, no need to return to there.

The guy already went through a satisfying plot arc. Bringing him back at this point would be pointless fanservice and cheapen his story in GTA IV. What you're asking for is essentially a straight to DVD sequel.

Nope. Wouldn't make sense considering he retired from crime.

this is R* that needs to retire from crime pancarte_lol.gif

As a protagonist (again), No. Although he is my favourite but he had his own game. Niko should make a return but as a supporting or minor character, but as protagonist, NO.

Algonquin Assassin

Like most people have said even though he's a great protagonist I don't think it's necessary for him to be brought back. His story already wrapped up nicely and he wanted to leave the life of crime at the end of GTA IV as the few nods he got in GTA V suggested that. I even think coming back as a side character isn't needed after how some of the GTA IV/EFLC cameos were treated in GTA V.

If I ever want to play as him I always have GTA IV and its masterpiece story to playthrough whenever I want. :)

Johnny Spaz

I think IV's ending was a good conclusion to Niko's life of crime, I think his character is too good to be in any GTA sequels.... With the way guys like Johnny Klebitz have been treated, I'd rather not see Niko go down that path.

El Penguin Bobo

As much as I like Niko, my answer would be no. Same thing with Tommy, CJ, or any other Rockstar protagonists. In case if you haven't realized, Rockstar does not bring back protagonists. Like everyone else is saying, Maybe I would like to see him as a supporting character. A character that gives you missions. Niko had his story and now he's living the dream he wanted in Liberty City with Roman. (that is if you picked the Revenge ending).

In case if you haven't realized, Rockstar does not bring back protagonists.

Rockstar brought back Claude in San Andreas and Johnny in V. But both of their appearances were really hammy and forced.

If anything, it shows that if they can't bring back protagonists in a decent way and a way that makes people upset, then bringing back someone as beloved as Niko will eventually lead to rioting in the streets and political assassinations.

I think what Penguin tried to say is that they don't bring back a past progatonist to the same role.

Pretty much everything has been said, I like Niko but if his return necessarily requires him being completely ruined as a character just because his game did not meet most people's expectations, then I would rather never see him again in future games. They already trashed one good protagonist for no f*cking reason, two would be too much.

No, definitely not as a playable character, he's one of my favorite video gaming protagonists but his story arc has been finished.

I love Niko, and I think IV was a masterpiece. If Rockstar was to bring him back, they would risk destroying the legacy of the game.

I don't have enough faith in the writers to execute this well.
