Hello!

I have two questions

Is there a way that me and my friend (the CEO) can be alone in a public session so we wont get annoyed by other players?

And

Why does my game tells me that I only have 512MB of VRAM while the RX560 (My GPU) has 4 GB right?

PS Im not used with this website so if my answers are mixed up im sorry

Problem 1 want to be two in one session alone:

SOLVED!!

Problem 2 sh*tty performance: Almost solved!!

I didn't know what you ment by "2 in 1 session" for a second, thought it was some glitch or something.

Yeah, I know, Just keep swapping public sessions until you land in one by yourself and invite your friend. There you go, private public lobby. Just keep watch for dickheads entering your lobby.

The second part? I dunno, I haven't used a PC for gaming for about 4 years now (simply because student wage doesn't pay enough to realistically get me a computer any time soon)

1. Get yourself a open nat type (deactivate router firewall maybe google your router for that) and use the Codeswine Tool. Add the WAN IP (public IP) of your friend to the whitelist and invite him. Then activate the rules and you never get bothered by randoms again.

http://gtaforums.com/topic/902405-gta5o-private-public-lobby-with-multi-ip-whitelist-101/

2. Your probably playing with the onboard gpu and not with your real gpu just google the problem.

In regards to your second query, does your computer use a processor with integrated graphics (e.g. AMD Radeon R7 or Intel HD Graphics)?

It could be that the game is using that instead of your RX 560. Without screenshots of the GTA V settings, I can't really say anything else.

Messing with the NAT settings and using external resources is good info, but for folks like me, it's like a foreign language.

It's a lot easier for someone like me to just change sessions until I'm alone - which happens about 85% of the time, then just invite the friend to join in.

As for the VRAM question, I'll leave that for the qualified professionals. Cheers! :)

or if you are too lazy for downloading tools just open Resource Monitor -> Network -> Susspend GTAV.exe for 7-10 seconds.

Now you are alone in a loby and you can invite your friend.

Ofc that also means anyone can join you at any time. But if the third person wants to troll you can always kick him out.

That means he doesn`t trust you. Because your the only one that gonna know the IP.

I mean if he doesn`t trust you he can use a VPN of his choice. There are a lot free VPN services out there, i use Goose VPN lately. Yeah and you can play with them. You get a free month trial for most VPN`s.

And im not the creator of this tool i just recommended it.

Me and a few friends always well not always but mostly use the tool to play because it`s way to annoying playing with the public human scum ppl.

Yeah we tried with my friend but I was always told that HE left and he was always told that I left while in the middle of a mission :/

1. Just swap sessions.

2. Update your video drivers.

1. Thats what we are doing for the moment but we are trying to find a better alternative

2. My drivers are up to date

Is your game functioning properly? i mean do you get a fluid experience? if so.. nevermind that wrongly detected video memory.. if not, then you might be using the integrated video as someone said above.

THATS the point... Just read what I said again.

- first you lag yourself to empty loby

- THEN you invite your friend to join.

Not the other way around... >.>

its not that hard to understand. If you lag yourself off you create empty loby (you see everyone left but in reality you are the one who left)

- start game

- join online

- lag people off

- invite friend

- if someone else joins and he's not friendly you can kick him off (esc-online-players-kick)

Thats how I create friendly lobbies all the time.

Okay, you're using a laptop APU.

What you'll need to do, is go into the BIOS of your computer and change the allocated video memory to 2 GiB. By default, it's set to 512 or 768 MiB, which will limit performance in games.

Depending on the manufacturer of your laptop, the key to press to get into the BIOS will vary. However, the three most common are F2, F8 and DEL. Press the key as soon as you have turned the machine on, when you see the company logo on-screen, and keep pressing until you're into the BIOS.

The option you're looking for will most likely be called "UMA Frame Buffer Size."

It's nice that you have contacted these people. Maybe it would be better to start from there? People are sharing some good stuff with you here and you're telling you're not going to do A or B because some other fella somewhere told you not to. Maybe, just maybe, ask this fella how to deal with your stuff? That's definitely going to save us some time.

If said people were customer support, ignore them. I've been there with laptops. They don't know what they're talking about.

How much RAM does your computer have? If 8 GiB or above, go ahead and do it. Your GPU is not that old at all. The 9830P was released late 2016, and AMD had no replacement until October last year.

Change GPUs? Does your laptop have a second graphics card? Let's hear the model number. Run the portable version of Piriform Speccy (no need to install) and check out the summary tab for the laptop model.

F8 is used for boot device selecting usually. I'd say F2, F10, F12 and DEL are most common for BIOS access.

I hope the RX560 has that 4Gb dedicated, if not, it uses RAM. But we'll wait for model numbers.

EDIT; Forgot, if function keys are set in BIOS "always on", you might need to hold FN key while pressing those F-buttons for BIOS, that's how it is in both of my laptops (HP and Acer, both old though).

No problem, that's all the information I need. (For some reason, I completely missed the RX 560 reference in your first post, so I apologize for that.)

You can still go ahead and change the memory dedication setting in the BIOS for the integrated Radeon R7. That will boost performance, and who doesn't want that, right?

However, the dedicated Radeon RX 560 will provide a substantial improvement in frame rate over the integrated chip. When a system has two graphics options, you can give the software the option to use one over the other. By default, I would expect this to be enabled out of the box, although it's known that for some programs, the software doesn't correctly recognize the workload and will fail to use the better graphics option for the task. This doesn't usually happen in demanding games such as GTA, which makes me think that your situation is likely the result of a power setting.

But, regardless, you can try going into the Radeon Settings to enforce this particular game to run under the RX;

1) Open up "AMD Radeon Settings."

2) "Preferences"

3) "Radeon Additional Settings"

4) "Power"

5) "Switchable Graphics Application Settings"

6) "All Applications" → "Add Application..."

7) Navigate to your GTA V installation directory and select the executable file. By default, this will be:

C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto V\GTA5.exe

8) Ensure "High Performance" is set.

9) Give it a try!

I hope the RX560 has that 4Gb dedicated, if not, it uses RAM. But we'll wait for model numbers.

The RX 560 only comes available with GDDR5 memory, so he/she is good.

Ah good, was too lazy to check it myself.

But then there should be no reason to enter BIOS. I understand it like this, if it's dedicated, 4Gb is 4Gb always. So I think you are right with the Radeon settings, it's using only integrated for some reason. My experience with AMD in this :facedesk:

Then again, newest laptop I have used with APU + dedicated GPU is from 2014, so maybe they got better.

Ok my computer has a r7 like i said + a rx 560 4gb and 8 or ram

Im not home so Ill have to wait like 5 hours till i can tell you the complete answer

But, regardless, you can try going into the Radeon Settings to enforce this particular game to run under the RX;

1) Open up "AMD Radeon Settings."

2) "Preferences"

3) "Radeon Additional Settings"

4) "Power"

5) "Switchable Graphics Application Settings"

6) "All Applications" → "Add Application..."

7) Navigate to your GTA V installation directory and select the executable file. By default, this will be:

C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto V\GTA5.exe
8) Ensure "High Performance" is set.

9) Give it a try!

I hope the RX560 has that 4Gb dedicated, if not, it uses RAM. But we'll wait for model numbers.

The RX 560 only comes available with GDDR5 memory, so he/she is good.

Like you said, this is probably a power issue

You can make screenshots of what you see if you press windowsbutton+print then open up paint and paste it in there. Save it as jpeg or whatever you want.

I mean why doing it with a phone camera if you could easily do it with screenshots. :D

Yeah, when I suggested the BIOS idea, it was because I saw that he mentioned the APU. I didn't see the initial RX 560 mention in the first post.

But, it is still technically a solution as he will get better frame rates with the APU if it has more memory to play with.

My Game was already on high performance

I tried to take some pictures of my settings and how i got to there

Im still not used with the website so I did the best I could

No problem. It seems like everything is fine there. Huh... Well, you're reminding me why I hate laptops.

Out of curiosity;

1) What is your power plan set to, and what is the minimum and maximum values under "Processor power management"? It might also be worth checking that the "System cooling policy" be active rather than passive. If you're using the High Performance Windows power plan and you know you haven't changed anything for it, it should be 100% minimum, which is fine.

1) Right-click the start menu icon and choose "Power Options."

2) "Change plan settings."

3) "Change advanced power settings."

4) Scroll down to "Processor power management" and click on the little plus icon to expand the options.

2) Give the BIOS solution a try. You might also find an option in there to disable the integrated graphics completely, or maybe some direct prioritization options instead of allowing the operating system to do it.
