Sell me a Buzzard?

Hey guys,

Well Ive been playing the game for a few months now.. been working my way through some of the advice given to me by various members on the best way to progress through the game. I now have a bunker and office (to allow me to become a CEO).. fully upgraded the bunker so that its now profitable, and have over a million in the bank from stock sales.

The next bit of advice was to buy a Buzzard.. Ill soon be in a position to do so, but Im just wondering exactly why I need one.. what will I be able to use it for, and how will it help me in the game?

I do like playing some of the missions, and obviously I have to complete the stock sale missions from my bunker.. which I have to say that I find rather difficult..

so I was just hoping that some of you could talk me into buying a Buzzard and maybe point out its pros and cons of owning one?

Thanks for any advice..

As a registered CEO you'll be able to spawn the Buzzard through the interaction menu under "SecuroServ" and it will spawn within 3-5 seconds nearby to you, allowing you to travel anywhere faster than a car technically. If it blows up or dies, it's only a 1:30 min cooldown to spawn it again, no penalty cost to you. It's the most useful purchase you can make as a CEO hands down.

You and your associates can spawn it in right next to you through the interaction menu for free once purchased.

This ability will save you much time getting from point A to B.

He can already spawn a buzzard, so let me emphasise on what's the most important after having it spawn next to you:

Also 3-5 seconds is only in rare situations when you're in complete wilderness, usually it's instant spawn.

Of all vehicles added to this game, and if you intend a variety of jobs and freemode activities. In my honest opinion, the Buzzard is that one essential purchase.

It simply sells itself.

Pros

It's free to spawn as a CEO and will spawn nearby

It's versatile

It's fast

It's agile

It will carry you and 3 mates

It's armed with homing missiles

Cons

Occasionally spawns in stupid places, like the bottom floor of multi-story car parks. Apart from that, none.

The Buzzard is probably THE must-have vehicle.

I counter all of the above by saying you should save up for a Hunter or an Akula instead. You can't spawn those from the interaction menu, but you operate just fine without the instant spawn currently so you should be fine.

The Hunter and Akula are faster, have the ability to shoot barrage missles or the normal homing missles and can both drop bombs on your enemies unlike the Buzzard. The Hunter also can be equipped with an explosive cannon for the passenger which can truly dominate the lobby in the right hands. The Buzzard doesn't have this feature. The Akula has a permanent off-the-radar ability called stealth mode and in my honest opinion this is one of the biggest game-changers in flight. No more do you have to worry about who sees you on the map traveling to and from your various CEO, VIP, and MC objectives (provided you haven't picked up cargo/product already). Not having to get into distracting side-battles is far more efficient and also less stressful. That's another useful feature the Buzzard doesn't have.

Downsides to the Akula and Hunter is the paywall Rockstar added by forcing you to own a Hangar with a mod shop to get the fancy stuff described above. Then you'd have to pay for those upgrades a la carte so that adds up quick too. By comparison, the Buzzard can just be called up from Pegasus or (as has been mentioned) from the interaction menu, so there's not as much hoops to jump through. You can literally just buy it and keep it moving. No extra steps.

TLDR: there are better attack helicopters than the Buzzard, but nothing matches it's convenience and price.

^ Ignore everything he said*. Buzzard is infinitely more practical than those money sinks. Maybe one day when you're stupidly rich, but they're toys, not essentials.

How does one sell a Buzzard, let alone any other aircraft, that's entirely not possible? Next OP will make a post regarding selling apartments/garages. :bored:

Was a lie told though?

And if you're gonna go on about how much they're toys and not esessentials why so much of a focus on practicality?

Which brings me to my next point. What makes the Buzzard "infinitely more practical" despite having weaker-counter measures, less features and worse passenger abilities? I already addressed the price and instant spawn, so do you have anything else to support your argument? Make the sale properly.

I should also say that if you're going to drop millions on an attack helicopter, get the right one the first time. No need to keep going back to the well if you already have what you need. Once you make the intial purchase and upgrade these helicopters that's the end of your expenses. There's a heavy upfront cost with the Hangar and the upgrades, as I said above, but that's it. There's no lingering recurrent costs at all. So that mention of the Akula or a Hunter being a money-sink as if it's a perpetual issue and not merely a one-time problem, is facetious.

Be sure to check Buzzard vs Akula, Buzzard vs Hunter and Akula vs Hunter videos on YouTube, OP. See these vehicles in action and decide for yourself.

LOL @ R3con. Drugs are bad, mkay.

Get the buzzard. Don't listen to R3con, his mom just bought more Tide pods and he's been making up for lost time.

Lol, this is the problem with groupthink and poor communication skills.

Rather than offer a full-throated retort to any one of my points, people would rather put their fingers in their ears and say "don't listen" like children.

The OP specifically asked for people to make the sale to him and several others above my original post have put in the effort to do so. Why can't my detractors? There's more options for GTA aerial protection than 2013's Buzzard and new players should be aware of those choices.

My go-to CEO heli is the havok. I haven't had a use for the buzzard since SR dropped. Don't get me wrong. I still love the buzzard but it's not essential like it used to be. Plenty of vehicles and spawn methods have matched its usefulness.

Just my thoughts.

Forgot about the little Havok, lol. Not one I'm too keen on for looks, but as flexible as a Buzzard.

My only preference for the Buzzard over other aircraft mentioned is that we need a hangar for the Akula/Hunter/Havok. Plus, as they are PV's, can't have a fast PV car out at the same time. And as the game can be a bark, insurance costs when destroying personal aircraft. Not loads, but builds.

The Buzzard is still a must-have IMO. I'm just reiterating things already said, but: 1. it's cheap relative to its value; 2. it's got a great blend of speed, agility and relatively small size that allows it to outmaneuver most attack helis and fit into tighter places; 3. you can spawn it right next to you for free any time you want with minimal cooldown - any hangar-stored or Pegasus vehicle is massively inconvenient in comparison, since they only spawn in certain places and (in the case of the hangar vehicles) have a long cooldown, require you to abandon any other personal vehicle you are driving to call them in, and make you call Mors Mutual when they get destroyed.

The CEO Buzzard option is basically the MC bikes ability but with an attack helicopter that is still one of the best in its class. Being able to do that for free is a huge plus. Buy it, you won't regret it. Then use it to do work that will earn you money to buy an Akula or whatever later.

(Also, just for grins, here are semi-downsides of the other attack helicopters not really addressed here: 1. The Akula can have barrage or homing missiles, not both, and since homing are so useful, you basically don't get the barrage. 2. Bombs are situationally useful at best. I get 10 missile kills for every one bomb kill, maybe more. They're nice to have but not game-changing. 3. Same with counter-measures (flares). Nice to have but they are rarely going to actually save you for long, since so many vehicles now can spam missiles faster than you can fire off flares. Situationally useful at best; you will dodge missiles more often than you'll use flares, and the Buzzard is still one of the best missile-dodging helis (the Akula and Hunter are too big and clumsy to dodge as well). 4. All the other stuff already mentioned above. I love them both and consider the Akula the best heli in the game, but I'd still say to buy the Buzzard first, just because of how useful it is with the CEO ability. It will make your path to the Akula a lot easier.

And one note on the Havok... it's a goofy fun vehicle, but has no homing missiles and lands like it's suicidal and wants to take you with it, so I don't recommend it until you have a lot of cash to blow. It is nowhere near as useful or practical as the Buzzard.

You can't sell the buzz since its a pegasus vehicle and came before the hangar existed, you can only sell airborne vehicles that came after the hangar update.

To use a hunter or akula effectively you'll need a buzzard anyways. So you can ferry yourself to the spawnpoint from anywhere whenever you need that kind of subterfuge or firepower, or to retrieve a new one if it's destroyed. The CEO's accessibility to the buzzard from anywhere makes it too versatile to pass on, it's the only vehicle in the game that is an absolutely no-brainer must have.

Thanks for any advice..

As others have said, it's one of the must have vehicles in game.

I like the Deluxo more though. The rockets on it are better than the Buzzard but are limited to 30. That hasn't become a problem at this point and I don't see it being one since I can just go a distance away and call for it again and it refills :)

The armored Kuruma and the Buzzard are must own vehicles. Those are the first 2 you should buy. The most useful vehicles in the game.

I would probably place the Deluxo 3rd but that's close to 5 mil with upgrades unless you get it on sale.

FWIW, both of these are context-sensitive. Kuruma is highly useful in missions and heists, but in free roam it's just about pointless - not bullet-proof enough to stop players from killing you, not as useful for CEO work as the Buzzard, and not explosion-resistant. Most players will either auto-shotty you out of it or, more likely, just blow it up on sight. Since I am in free roam 95% of the time now, my Kuruma gathers dust.

The Buzzard meanwhile is super-useful in free roam, but not usable on heists (though it still can be used and is very good for contact missions).

I owned an Akula for about 2 hours and sold it. I'm just not a combat guy and realized I was an idiot for buying it when people with Deluxos and Buzzards were shooting me down. I just don't buy combat vehicles at all. All I like to do is grind for money so I can buy any cars that I want and just screw around in the game.

^ that post right there is a perfect illustration of why context matters. Akula rules against players but against NPCs and for doing objective work, it's painfully average and very inconvenient to boot. If you're buying a heli primarily to kill people, get an Akula. If you're buying one to grind, get a Buzzard. And if you do some of both, I'd say get the Buzzard first, then use it to make a mint and buy the Akula second.

Same here, you don't survive long in free roam in the Kuruma. But it's pretty cool for grinding missions...like going to the Altruist Camp for supplies for you bunker. Just drive up, kill 3 or 4 guys and jump out and grab them and drive right out. NPC bullets do not penetrate it. One of the few cars I can say I've made more money with it than it cost me.

If you're into grinding CEO work, you'll find the Buzzard a very trustworthy companion, too. You'll end up doing Sightseer in avg. 5-6 minutes, Headhunter is a nice affair too.

Although you cannot CEO-spawn the Buzzard during contact missions, it is very useful there, too, when some day you want to rush through e.g. Priority Case, Trash Talk, Lost MC RIP, Blow up III, and many more, for a quick buck.
