What GTA is the most nostalgic to you?

What GTA is the most nostalgic for you? If you want to share a short story about your experience, go for it!

For me it is GTA 5 because for many reasons, it was what introduced me to the concept of GTA as a whole, and for years i really wanted the game but never could get it. I would watch gameplay and reviews and i even have the dialogue from the mission frankin and lamar memorised, but then i got 5 on my only computer a core 2 duo e4400 system with a gt730, even though it ran at like 22FPS i didn't care, i would spend hours driving around. But the ground would not load and characters would freeze, and i only got 20% done until a Trevor mission would refuse to even run. But this game holds a special place in my heart.

But i know some people grew up during the 3D era and GTA VC is a classic for some people.

So tell me what GTA game do you have the most fond memories of?

For me, it would have to be GTA San Andreas. There are many factors and aspects that come together to make it what it is to me and many others. The storyline, sheer size and diversity of the physical setting, the drama, the struggles and the triumphs of the protagonist and the other main characters make me equate it to a really, really good movie. I spent many hours playing the story over and over again when I was in elementary school. I have the same feelings for Vice City, Vice City Stories, IV, EFLC and TBoGT, but San Andreas is at the top for me.

San Andreas for sure. PS2 gaming was my golden years where I had all the time in the world.

A lot of that time went into GTA SA!

Heck, I never actually finished the storyline...damn.

GTA 1 - first game from the series I've played.

GTA 2 - first game I've bought, but it was pirated version translated to polish by Russians

GTA VC - first 3D game I've bought for my first PS2

GTA IV - the best GTA I've played.

GTA 2 - There's something special that it continues to have my attention even after so many years of playing this game

GTA SA - The masterpiece that Rockstar managed to raise the bar for the series. Always my preferred choice for the brilliant storytelling (and the last attempt from Rockstar) experience as well.

GTA 2-I haven't played it much, but it was the first GTA I ever played.

GTA VC-second GTA I ever played and first modern GTA I ever played,as well as one of the first games I played on PC.Since I only played SNES and PS1 games before it,I was really impressed by it.

GTA SA-I remember reading reviews of it in gaming magazines back in 2005,seeing a bit of gameplay footage in some gaming TV show and talking about it with my friends, and I still remember when I first played it in 2006.To this day it's been my favorite GTA game.

GTA Vice City for two reasons: It was the first GTA game I've ever played and when my was around 11 my PC broke down, so I walked 2km every day to a CyberCafé (do they even exist anymore?) in my town to spend a few hours playing Vice City. Totally worth it.

The portable classics! LCS and VCS were the first games I've played on my old PSP, followed by Vice City and San Andreas on my PS2. I remember getting the RSOD after putting my Vice City disk inside my PS2, turns out the inbuilt disk drive was faulty.

Good times!

My first GTA i played is GTA Vice City, then GTA 1 or 2, then San Andreas or GTA 3.

But Vice City holds a special heart for my Nostalgia, due to neons, songs from 80-ts, Tommys vercetti,s Hawaiian t shirt and cars such as Oceanic, great buildings but especially Malibu club.

Second is GTA SA, having more memories after VC.

Yes, i clearly as child i throught the VC is for Girls.

This one is pretty close between GTA 3, Vice City, San Andreas, LCS, VCS and IV but it's gotta be GTA Vice City, that's the most nostalgic GTA game IMO.

While it might be not the first ever GTA i ever played, it's just much more memorable. The Beach sounds when the Rockstar Games logo screen appears to the funky intro. The beautiful and colorful environment of an 80's City and the beloved soundtracks playing on the radio. I loved simply exploring the city.

Here's a 2006-2007 Youtube video that i used to watch on our good o' PC. It's a PS2 walkthrough by GTAmissions, i enjoyed just watching the missions and stuff.

Sure, i was pretty young to play this game but nobody cared back then. I have a similar memories with GTA 3 and San Andreas as well as the Stories games but nothing matches Vice City IMO.

SA, it's the first one I played.

GTA San Andreas is the worst action-adventure video game ever created.

I would say GTA III and Vice City are tied in that area.

GTA Vice City Stories. I was playing on PSP, and this game introduced me to 80's musics. We used to share tips with friends, do missions for one another. The map, the context, the memories... This GTA is the first I played, and it always brings back good thoughts to me.

NoobDude-

San Andreas. I still play the MP version of it from time to time.

The plot of SA is pretty in-depth and is filled with emotions, family and betrayal. I wish Rockstar would make a follow up story for SA.

Vice City Stories, nothing beats the cinematic of the barracks driving down to Fort Baxter while this plays:

GTA2. First game I played in the series was the first game in the series, GTA1, funny enough, but I always find the second game to be the most nostalgic.

GTA III driving around listening to MSX FM or Lip 106 in a Banshee trying not to get police on me or smash it up I was 11 or 12 at time lol

EDIT: I stopped playing video games when I was 14 and in 2007 when I was 17 I seen GTA IV for the first time my friend was playing it and I couldn't believe what I was seeing I wasn't sure if I liked it or not at first...

Fast forward to 2010 I got my first PS3 with GT5 and GTA Complete Edition I competed IV first then TBoGT and was blown away by the story so you could say that was my second nostalgic moment

San Andreas

Probably the most game I was excited for leading to release. Reading info, looking at screenshots, imagining the times I'd spend in the farms fields and woodlands while trying to cross to a different city. All of this peaked when it was presented in the right circumstances life wise for me.

The first gta I played was 3. I was like 10 when it came out and never beat it because I would just muck around. I'd use cheats to get to the other islands and what not. But having played every title after 3, SA really feels like home to me.. I played that game damn near 5 years strait. Its my favorite of the series. If I were to win the lottery I would pay someone to make a ps4/x1 remaster.
